I paid $app fee on a saturday afternoon to Kaylee, the property managerI changed my mind because it was a basement apartment with very low ceilings and my son, who is is already up to the ceiling in heightI called her and emailed her on Sunday morning and told her not to process the app because I didn't want my son to have to slouch and he is probably still growing so it would be very unhealthy for him to live thereI asked for my money back and she refused saying it is non-refundableI said only if you already did the clerical work for processing the appShe said it is for her time to show me the apartmentso in my opinion she is not a decent person because no one shows an apartment for a fee and I looked at over a dozen..I don't recommend anyone rent from her

I am writing in response to the above listed ID number. Below is an email account of my correspondence to the resident who filed this complaint, Ms*** ***.
Unfortunately, what Ms*** is asking us to do is veer
from company policy to accommodate her requests to move because she is unhappy with her neighbors. I have made it clear to Ms*** that I can't change company policy and have even gone as far as to outline (as you can see below) the reasoning behind such. At the same time, I have made myself available to Ms*** to voice her concerns regarding her unit, whatever those may be, and done everything in my power to remedy those concerns. While we strive to please every resident, that is not always possible
At this time, Ms*** has submitted a maintenance request (11/26) for the handful of items she had addressed in her email below. I will be submitting a work order for those items today to be completed by the end of the week.
While I'm not completely familiar with the urban definition of "slum lord", I feel it is derogatory and not an accurate reflection of the services our company provides to all of our residents, including Ms***Likewise, I'm not sure how she feels she is being treated "as if we are living in low income government funded homes". As you can tell from our email correspondence below, my dialogue with Ms*** is detailed and drawn out as well as addressing her with the same respect & dignity I treat all of our residents.

I received your notice of
complaint as reported by Ms. [redacted] of [redacted],
Indianapolis, IN 46260 and would like to respond accordingly.
Ms. [redacted] applied for...

an
apartment with our company on Saturday, June 28, 2014 @ 9:30am.  At 10:03am
(on Saturday June 28, 2014), I emailed Ms. [redacted] with instructions
requesting additional information I would need her to sign and send back to me
to process her application.  On Monday, June 30, 2014, I received the
signed documentation back from Ms. [redacted].  I immediately forwarded the
appropriate forms to her employer as well as her current landlord to obtain the
necessary verification.  I did not receive the completed documents back
until after business hours on 7/2/14.
On 7/3/14, Ms. [redacted] called me around 8:30am, yelling
belligerently, demanding that I either approve her for the unit or refund her
application fee, that I had all of her personal information, that she wanted to
get moved in and she was tired of dealing with "this".  I politely
and professionally reminded her that I JUST received her employment
verification the evening prior and had not yet had time to process the
information for her.  I told her that when I had an opportunity to do so,
I would call her. 
She hung up on me.
 
Our office was closed from
7/4/14-7/7/14 due to the holiday.  Upon my return to the office on 7/8/14,
I worked up Ms. [redacted]'s application and submitted it for approval.  It
was received today with the determination that Ms. [redacted]'s application has been
denied due to the following:
 - failure to provide proper notice at current
residence
 - failure to meet minimum
income requirements
Unfortunately, all of our
application fees are non-refundable, as indicated on the receipt that was given
to Ms. [redacted] at the time of payment.  I have attached the receipt for
your reference.
I have also Cc'd Ms. [redacted] on this correspondence so she
may see that I appropriately responded to her complaint to the Revdex.com against
Circle City Realty, and can witness that our company is not "a
fraud".  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may
have, I would be more than happy to answer them.

I called her and emailed her on Sunday morning and told her not to process the app because I didn't want my son to have to slouch and he is probably still growing so it would be very unhealthy for him to live there.
