I am writing this review so that no one has to go through what was easily the worst experience I’ve ever had with anyone working on my homeI definitely DO NOT recommend Jeff *** from Circle SatelliteI have never left a review for any company who has come to my home, but I feel like it’s my duty to let everyone know he is the most unprofessional, unprepared, and rudest service person I’ve ever had to deal with
I contacted him to do a simple swap out of the LNBF on my satellite dish (located on the roof) for my elderly fatherI included measurements and picturesHe said that he could come out on a certain date and time (he was late), that it wouldn’t be a problem, and gave me his rates and how long it would takeNot only did it take him over hours to do it (way above his estimate), he had me HOLD THE LADDER for him the entire time he was up there! I was astonished—when I called him, I specifically told him I was hiring an actual company to do this (read: him) so that they would have all the necessary materials and I wouldn’t have to deal with holding a ladder like I had to do for the guy who cleaned my guttersHe didn’t even finish the work I hired him for since it took him so long to just swap the LNBF out
Shortly after he left, the satellite stopped workingI called/texted/emailed him and he gave me a couple suggestions on what to do to fix it, none of which worked, and said he’d come back out to check it outAs long as he was willing to back his work and come fix it, that was fine with meWell, he never cameI gave him 2-months in case he was busy, so he had more than enough timeThe last response I got from him is this: ”You the guy who brought the hatchet outside? Probably why I didn't return.” This is simply absurd and evidence that he was grasping at straws for any excuse to not come back and fix his mistakeFor the sake of transparency I’ll explain why he even mentioned a ‘hatchet’
After about an hour of holding the ladder for him, I saw that UPS came and dropped off a packageI told him that I couldn’t hold the ladder for him so that I could go sign for my package and that I was excited about an expensive axe I had purchased and asked if he wanted to see itHe responded in the affirmativeSo, I showed him my sheathed axe, that I had just received, that he told me he wanted to see, in an attempt to be cordial
There was nothing to indicate he was scared in any way, shape, or formHe held it and commented on how nice it was and we both laughed about how a person like me living in the suburbs has no real use for an axeNone of the text messages or emails I have stating that he will come back and fix the incorrect installation, or the fact that he had me hold a ladder for him for another hour afterwards (which implies trust and was incredibly unprofessional on his part and dangerous for me) indicate any such feelings of fearIt was just totally ridiculous of him to say thatIt kind of stings that he would even suggest I was or would do anything inappropriate…my mother and I were nothing but nice and accommodating to himFor heaven’s sake, he trusted me enough to have me hold a ladder he was standing on for over two hours!
What started out as a simple LNBF swap so that my elderly father could watch his satellite turned into the worst experience I’ve had with a service person in my homeI’ve never met an installer more inept, unprepared, or unprofessionalOur satellite is worse than when he cameHe told me his ‘company’ was insured but I sincerely doubt thatIf you’re looking for a person to take advantage of your old parents, then by all means, call Jeff *** from Circle SatelliteIf you want someone who will leave your property in worse condition than when he came, call Jeff *** from Circle SatelliteIf you want a person who will scam you, call Jeff *** from Circle Satellite
I understand that he installs security systemsDoes this sound like a person you can trust with your safety?
