Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/11/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
5/It is not my fault I was not billed for the electrical box cover which should've been fixed correctly in the first place
8/Yes I did contact Citadel about a roof leakCitadels roofer #told me the original work that was done by the company Citadel had hired did the work incorrectlyThere were three pieces of flashing in an area where their should've only been oneBy placing three separate pieces and using a lot of nails to hold down those three pieces they created a perfect place for water to leak into the homeSince this ordeal has started I have now talked to several different roofers and they all have said the original work was done incorrectly and very poorlyWARRANTY DOESNT COME INTO PLAY WHEN WORKMANSHIP IS EXTREMELY POOR AND DONE WRONG
Now lets talk about the repair/patch job#roofer Citadel hired came to my home and caulked the entire area which is not a repair its a patchHe did put some shingles back onto the roof but did not replace the flashing#roofer used three tubes of caulking The roofer smeared caulk all over the facia board which is easily seen from the groundThe only way that can be corrected is by pealing off the caulking and repainting the areaAGAIN THIS IS NOT REPAIR IT IS A POOR PATCH
The owner of Citadel came to my home and told me roofs just leakHe may have used the fans to dry the area but he never fixed the problemi had to crawl into my attic to determine where the leak was originating fromi had to call quality roofing company's to find the improper workmanshipThe owner never went out of his way for much
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/12/01) */
This is in response to the November 12, rebuttal
The roof was installed prior to November, It carried a year warrantyNo work was done to the roof within that yearWe were not made aware of any problems until April when strong wind driven rains passed through the area causing a roof leakAll repairs made have been provided at no cost to the homeownerI made the customer fully aware that the roof was out of warranty prior to any repairs
I spoke with the roofing contract that made the final repairsHe stated to me that he never had any conversation with the homeowner in regard to original roof installationHe said that it is properly installed
The roofing contractor I hired to make the repairs stated the repairs were done correctly and no additional work is neededHe also stated repairs were made by removing shingles, installing ice & water shield, installed new shingles and made adjustments to the flashingOnce again, this roof is out of warranty and repairs were made by Citadel at no charge
At this time no additional repairs are needed and the roof is out of warranty
