On 5/23/2017 Mr. [redacted] came to Citgo gas station and purchased regular gas @ 2.249 gallon at the pump. Total gallon that he purchased was 20.09. he then came inside to pay and I will agree that he was charged 2.329g on his credit card. However, the reason is that it was an honest mistake, as wrong...

code was used in the POS credit card machine which resulted in a credit card transaction. We recognized it right away and the attendant apologized and tried to explain to him that he got cash price at the pump which was 45.00 for 20.09g but Mr. [redacted] would not understand this and accused us of scamming him. he paid 45.00 for the gas he put in his car. If we charged him credit at the pump he would pay $46.60 for 20.09g. The attendant explained to him several times including the owner that it was a mistake with just the codes and that the gas of 45.00 was in the car @ 2.249g. He insisted that we charged him more. we did not return his money because we did not overcharge him. He was outside at the pump whole his gas was pumping and he knows we gave him cash price that amounted to $45.00 and that is what he was charged. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we had no other choice but to ask him to leave as the traffic was building and he was parked at the pump.

The address is [redacted]

[redacted] states he asked for DEF fluid, and received something else instead. We do not, at all, sell DEF fluid at the location. So it is not possible to have put in DEF fluid. However, we do sell 12oz. Diesel Conditioner, which is put into the fuel tank. We are assuming this is what...

the attendant understood and put into the fuel tank, which should not harm the vehicle in any way, because it is used to put in a diesel tank. The reason his DEF gauge did not move is because no DEF was put in. Although, we do not see that any wrong doing was done, our customers satisfaction is important. We are willing to pay half of the expenses the customer is disputing; which is $300. We will reimburse $150 of the expense. Since we do not sell DEF fluid and Diesel Conditioner is not harmful to a diesel vehicle, we have decided to offer half of the expense to be fair. There is no definite evidence to say diesel conditioner caused harm. If that was the case, the product would not be on the market. We thank you for your assistance.

Review: I was getting a tank of gas last night and I had trouble locating my debit card, so I gave the attendant a card that should have worked but I explained to him that it was an older card so it could possibly be expired. During the time he was filling up my gas, I ended up locating my card in the car so I gave it to him when the initial one did not work. He returned with my working card and claimed that it did not work. Confused, I asked him why wouldn't it be working since I had just used it earlier the same day. He rudely responded, "It doesn't work, there's no money on there". I shook my head and explained to him that there was definitely money on there, otherwise chances are I would not be at a gas station getting a full tank of gas if I had no money. I even checked my account balance right in front of him to prove to him that there was no issue with my card. Since I had no other form of payment, I offered to go right around the corner to an ATM so that I could pay him in cash. He complied, but again rudely told me to leave my license (which I figured I would have to leave some sort of collateral, but his tone was very harsh). I went to the ATM, got the money out with no problem, which suggests that it was probably an issue with their credit card machine. Since in New Jersey there is a credit price and a cash price for gas, he pumped the gas on the basis that I was giving him a credit card. Normally I would not say anything about just a couple of dollars but since I felt so disrespected, I was going to make sure they did not receive a dime more than what I owed them. When I returned, I asked him to charge me the correct cash price since I will now be paying cash and he immediately said no with no explanation. I had to explain to him that there is a difference between the cash price and the credit price and he is charging me more than what I owe. He started raising his voice and refused to charge me the cash price. I angrily left, but I still want my money backDesired Settlement: I would like an apology for the blatant rudeness displayed by this employee. His assumption that I have no money in my account was very inappropriate and uncalled for to say the least. Further, he should have adjusted the price based on the fact that I was paying cash and I calculated what the adjustment should have been. What is also important to note is that not too long ago, I went to the same gas station and had the same attendant helping me and after initially telling him I would be paying cash, I realized I would have to use my credit card. He had absolutely no problem creating a separate bill of the difference that I owed him since the price was increasing from cash to credit. If they can so easily figure out what I owe them for going from cash to credit, they need to display the same ease if I (the paying customer) need the price adjusted in my favor.
