Me and my kids mother (never married) had a house loan togetherAfter a few years she went and got a secured loan for a car thru Citifinancial and paid on it for a couple yearsThen she went back and got another loan to pay off the first loan and some extra money to pay off some other billsThey gave her the title to the car and so then the loan she had was unsecuredShe stopped paying on the loan and instead of Citifinancial garnishing her wages they put a judgement against the title to the houseAll of that happened after we split up and I knew nothing about it, until I went to refinance the house to get a lower rate and get her name off the loan about months agoThe bank told me I could not get it refinanced until the loan was satisfiedCitifinancial will not tell me a anything as for as what a payoff amount would beThey said they can only deal with the person that had the loanI got my kids mother to finally sign a paper giving my lawyer permission to negotiate a payoff amount but Citifinacial after months never has returned his callsHe said every time he calls them he gets put on hold or sent to a different person
The mother has been no more help then signing that piece of paperThe loan is not showing up on her credit report, so I think that is why she is not helpfulIt should be a law that when a financial institution gets a Judgment against a home loan like that all the people on the loan should be notifiedAll I know right now is the refinanced loan was for around $and with interest over the years Citifinancial could be owed as much as $14,with their twenty some percent interest rateMy advice is only get a loan thru them if you really have toThey never return calls, and the interest rate is not worth it

Me and my kids mother (never married) had a house loan together. After a few years she went and got a secured loan for a car thru Citifinancial and paid on it for a couple years. Then she went back and got another loan to pay off the first loan and some extra money to pay off some other bills. They gave her the title to the car and so then the loan she had was unsecured. She stopped paying on the loan and instead of Citifinancial garnishing her wages they put a judgement against the title to the house. All of that happened after we split up and I knew nothing about it, until I went to refinance the house to get a lower rate and get her name off the loan about 7 months ago. The bank told me I could not get it refinanced until the loan was satisfied. Citifinancial will not tell me a anything as for as what a payoff amount would be. They said they can only deal with the person that had the loan. I got my kids mother to finally sign a paper giving my lawyer permission to negotiate a payoff amount but Citifinacial after 7 months never has returned his calls. He said every time he calls them he gets put on hold or sent to a different person. The mother has been no more help then signing that piece of paper. The loan is not showing up on her credit report, so I think that is why she is not helpful. It should be a law that when a financial institution gets a Judgment against a home loan like that all the people on the loan should be notified. All I know right now is the refinanced loan was for around $5900 and with interest over the years Citifinancial could be owed as much as $14,000 with their twenty some percent interest rate. My advice is only get a loan thru them if you really have to. They never return calls, and the interest rate is not worth it.","neg-1

My boyfriend and I gotten a Loan wiyh them back in august at that time they talked us into buying an insurance by telling us that if at anytime either of us go on unemployment that it will cover our payments till we get back to work so it happened and I lost my job so I applied and they sent my application to wrong insurance company we just thought we were denied...well then boyfriend went on unemployment and applied well he received same letter in mail basically saying they dont deal with our case so he went up there and they said that they sent to wrong place that they will send it to right place this time. So we wait another month to make payment to receive same letter. In mail that said same thing so again we went back up there and they said same thing aent it to wrong place again and that they for sure got right place but will take 3 weeks to get reaponse..and not to worry about paymebt that when insurance kicks in itll cover it so in meantime we are getting calls and our credit is getting hurt. Finally we get a denial paper that onemain basically knew this insurance wouldnt cover us from beginning and sold it to us anyways now we are behind on payments and our credit hurt over their fraud insurance sale and ignorancy.Desired SettlementWe would juat like it to be cleared after all stress and damage they have done and for selling us a fraudulance insurance basicallyBusiness Response March 6, 2014Sent First Class Mail[redacted]Dispute Resolution SpecialistRevdex.com Complaint DepartmentRevdex.com Serving Western Michigan2627 East Beltline Ave SE, Suite 320Grand Rapids, MI 49546Re: OneMain Financial Account No: [redacted]Dear [redacted]:We are in receipt of your letter dated February 20, 2014, regarding [redacted]'s OneMain Financial account and we appreciate this opportunity to address her concerns. We have had an opportunity to research the issues raised and offer the following response. Our records indicate that [redacted] and [redacted] originally obtained a personal loan with OneMain Financial's Benton Harbor, Michigan branch office on August 6, 2013 for a principal balance of 6,467.56 and an interest rate of 24.99% per annum. This loan was repayable in sixty (60) monthly installments of $189.83 each and was assigned account number [redacted]. At the loan closing, [redacted] and [redacted] chose to purchase the optional Joint Credit Involuntary Unemployment (IUI) coverage for a premium of $1,216.43.Review of [redacted] and [redacted]'s account determined that an IUI claim was filed by [redacted] which was forwarded to the insurance company,[redacted], for review and processing. Under the terms of the IUI certificate, in order to be eligible for the IUI insurance [redacted] needed to have been actively working for pay for at least twelve (12) consecutive months on the effective date of the IUI certificate. As such, due to the break of employment from December 16, 2012 February 16, 2013, [redacted] would not have qualified for the IUI coverage at the loan closing done on August 6, 2013. Therefore,[redacted] Company advised the Benton Harbor branch office to cancel the IUI coverage on [redacted] and [redacted]'s loan and refund them the full premium in the amount of $1,216.43. Review of [redacted] and [redacted]'s account determined their OneMain Financial account was credited the full insurance premium refund on February 24, 2014.Furthermore, review of [redacted] and [redacted]'s OneMain Financial account determined that the Benton Harbor branch applied a loan modification to their account on March 4, 2014, which lowered their monthly payments from $189.83 to $153.34. The new payment amount is less than what the monthly payments had would have been ($154.09) had [redacted] and [redacted] not purchased the IUI insurance coverage as part of the loan closing. While we strive to provide a superior level of service to our customers, we regret that we may not have succeeded in meeting [redacted]'s expectations. As of the date of this response, [redacted] and [redacted]'s account is current with their next payment scheduled is due on April 6, 2014. For your review I have enclosed copies of the Disclosure Statement, Note and Security Agreement, Itemization of Amount Financed, IUI Certificate of Insurance and correspondence from[redacted] Company addressed to [redacted], advising of the denial reason on his IUI claim.Should [redacted] and [redacted] have any questions, or wish to discuss payment arrangements, we encourage them to contact the Benton Harbor branch office directly at [redacted]Sincerely,[redacted]Resolution SpecialistExecutive Response UnitEnclosurescc: [redacted], Branch ManagerOneMain Financial # [redacted]
