Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I did request my money back via text messages which I have sent to [redacted] the mediator I don't understand why this matter is going back and fourth without anything being resolved.I have uploaded the receipt to the Revdex.com at the start of my complaint and now I am uploading it again.What more could I do? Review: The brokers, [redacted] and [redacted] from Citihabitats pressured my girlfriend and me to move into an apartment that had bed bugs in it. They were rude in their emails and texts as we tried to close a deal on a one bedroom at [redacted]. When we finally got to the lease signing, [redacted] informed us that there were bed bugs in the apartment and pressured us to sign a bed bug waiver. She told us they had been eradicated and that we must sign the waiver to move on with the lease signing. My girlfriend and I were sketched out but we had already paid $150 for the application fees and taken out $4,472 in certified checks which cost $30. [redacted] was representing the landlord [redacted] at the time of the lease signing since [redacted] for some reason could not make it there. We moved in December [redacted] and after several days we started to get bed bug bites.

We contacted [redacted] about the bed bug issue, who told us it was not her problem and to contact the landlord. The landlord has not done anything to resolve our problem. We are still living with bed bugs and trying very hard to find a new apartment as we try to break the lease with this landlord. [redacted] has made our lives very difficult and she could have warned us about the landlord and the apartment that had a 2 year history of bed bugs. [redacted] only informed us of the bed bug issue at the lease signing when my girlfriend and I were stressed to find a place to live. We signed the lease under the promise that the bed bug issue was resolved and that we would live there for a year under the contract of the lease. We are currently breaking the lease due to our doctors' warnings of the effect the bed bug issue has on our health and under the statute of habitability in our lease. We have 6 captured bed bugs and twice the city has declared the whole premise to be infested by bed bugs which you can find on the [redacted]'s website.

-[redacted]Desired Settlement: We want a refund of the services we paid for which were not met. That amount comes to $1,872 which was the broker's fee. We could ask more for damages but are only seeking a full refund of the failed services that were provided. We tried contacting Citihabitats on March [redacted], to negotiate with them to correct their fault and find us a new apartment waiving the broker's fee. They said that might be a possibility, but have failed to do anything productive to help us. We are still receiving passive aggressive and harassing emails from [redacted].

Review: I am looking for an apartment in New York City. I met with Danny R[redacted] who is a real estate agent at Citi Habitats. He showed me numerous apartments and I was interested in one at [redacted]. He told me there is a $95.00 application, credit & processing fee that is non refundable. He also said he needed $500.00 for a rental deposit which is non refundable if I decide not to take the apartment. They were asking $2600.00 per month for this apartment. I offered $2425.00 because that is all I can afford. I gave him $500.00 in cash because he said they don't accept checks. I also gave him $95.00 for the application fees which was paid by my debit card. They came back to me with an offer of $2515.00 which I cannot afford. I told him I could not take the apartment at that cost. He was angry and said he could not believe I am losing the apartment for $90.00 a month more. I told him I just could not afford it. He then said the $500.00 is non refundable therefore I am at lost for that money. I told him my agreement was for $2425.00 and not for $2515.00. I told him it was unfair that you took my money under false pretenses. I said to him if the owner could offered the apartment for something outrageous and you know what I could afford it is a scam. He said you signed the receipt. I said yes you explained to me that the $95.00 dollar credit check fee was non refundable. But it was my understanding that the agreement was the apartment for $2425.00 and that is what I put the $500.00 towards. Not an apartment for $2515.00 something I can't afford.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back in a refund check of $500.00 because I gave my money in good faith that I would get the apartment for $2425.00. This is something I can afford. Not the counter rent of $2515.00. This is something I did not agree to and would have never gave the $500.00. This broker Danny R[redacted] knows this. It is a scam how he took my money and probably many other people dealt with this agency and had the same problem.
