Review: The initial claim with Citizens was filed by my parents approx 2-3 years ago. This in itself is an issue as the claim is still open. The issue currently at hand is that my father passed away July 13 2012. My mother and I had a meeting with the manger of Citizens in August of 2012. We were told that Citizens was attempting to go after some additional money and that the manager was giving the insurance company 30 days from the time of our meeting. He told us that he would be personally handling our claim.

Long story short, the 30 day deadline passed without hearing from Citizens. I have been trying to get in contact with the manager from Citizens since October of 2012 via email and phone calls. My mother has called pretty much everyday the past month or so and has asked for the manager and has received the same answer of "he is in a meeting" or "I will give him the message to call you" only to not have her calls returned.

This company has been giving us the run around since the claim was put in with them. This is by far the worst customer service that I have ever been provided. It's unacceptable. I have read reviews on this company via the Internet and it would seem that others have had the same nightmare experience with this company. I seriously don't know how Citizens is still in business. I would not recommend them to anyone.Desired Settlement: I want a resolution to this situation. I would like to find out what is going with the claim as no one has provided us any information since August 2012.

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not find anything written by **. [redacted] in his response to be truthful. Let's start with the beginning of his response.

Review: on July 14-14 Citizens Public Adjusters came to my house to take my claim for a tree falling on my house/roof. The claim came out to be 29,243.68. after 15%(3,611.37) taken out, and other fees, my final check comes to 17,464.43. It is now 10/28/2014 and I am still waiting for my check. The check has been sitting on there desk for over 2 months now and they won't release it to me. It is now getting cold and the snow is coming. I am hoping further damage will not occur. The damaged roof is right over top of my kids bedroom. There is a big open hole in my roof and tiny holes scattered on the roof and was never covered. I was told they were covered and they weren't. So every time it rains water is getting in, still. I have offered to drive down there to the main office and go with there employee to the bank and cash the check at the same bank the check was made out to([redacted]), and they still wont give me the check. I can pay them there 3,611.37 right there. I also have my attorney involved in getting the check released and he can't even get me the check released. For the last week or so I cannot get anyone on the phone. The phone is totally out of order. I keep getting the answering service. I am totally fustrated. What do I do about my roof? I was also told I would get paid enough to fix the roof and change the siding on my house so it all matches the rest of the house. Well after estimates from several companys 17,464.43 is not enough to pay for everything. The labor alone is making it so expensive. So now the entire side of my house is going to be different from the rest of my house because they don't make the same siding they did in 1955. My house is going to look terrible.Desired Settlement: I would like my complete settlement check in the amount of 17,464.43. so I can deposit it into my [redacted] account. I have a photocopy of the actual check and it says 24,075.80. I know I have to give 6,611.37 to Citizens for the other fees.

Review: I recently suffered a fire and smoke damage in my home. Citizens was contracted to service me through the insurance adlustment claim process. In the last 2weeks we have been calling our assigned public adjuster and the co. Main office; we have yet rececived a reponse or return call. Due to Citizens deviation from assisting us, we have been dealing with the insurance company on our own.Desired Settlement: We need Citizens to send a letter to our insurance co annulling the contract due to their failure to provide service.

Review: I hired this company as my public adjuster for a homeowners insurance claim due to a pipe bursting and causing damage to my home. The loss happened on September 5, 2014. On 9-15-14 my homeowners insurance company ([redacted]) issued the first check made payable to Citizens Public Adjusters and myself. I found out from the insurance company that the check was cashed. I never signed the check or received any payment from the check. On 10-1-14 a second check was issued made payable to Citizens Public Adjusters, myself and the bank holding my mortgage. This check was also cashed without my signature and I never received any payment from the check. A third check was issued 10-14-14 made payable to Citizens Public Adjusters and myself. The company actually signed off on this check and forwarded it to me. This was the smallest of the three checks. Last week Citizens Public Adjusters closed its doors for a week. They met with their agents on Thursday, October 30 and told them that they were not paying any claims until further notice. The company reopened on Monday, 11-3-14. I am still waiting to receive my homeowners insurance payment for the damage to my home from them.Desired Settlement: I would like for this company to send me a check for the homeowners insurance claim that was initiated in the contract as agreed upon. The agreement was that they were to be paid 20% of the insurance disbursement and the remainder of the funds were to be paid to me. I'm not sure how they endorsed these checks without myself and the bank that holds my mortgage, but I have never received full payment for the claim and I am consequently unable to complete the repairs to my home.

Review: I have agreed to allow this company to represent me in my homeowners claim which dates to 6/3/13. Our basement family room had significant damage from flooding due to a broken pipe behind the kitchen cabinets and our plumber recommended Citizens Public Adjusters. I signed the contract which I was aware allowed them to be paid 25% of whatever amount they could get my homeowners insurance company to pay. As I have been recently disabled it seemed an acceptable means of relieving me from the stress of dealing with a financial settlement. The months have gone by, the work has been done, furnishings replaced. The final structure repairs check was finally received on 8/29/13. The damaged contents were handled separately, through a final painstaking process. I received a call in mid-September that they had reached a settlement on the lost furniture and other items which was $4656.38, and they sent a copy of check for same issued by my homeowners insurance company dated 9/27/13 with a cover letter of 10/2/13. An additional release form was received, signed and notarized the next day. Once again Citizen's was given permission to deposit the check and send us 75% of the balance. To date we have not received these additional funds. When called I was told, "it's in the mail." Rather than using an overnight delivery service and requiring a signature this company sends checks for thousands of dollars admittedly via regular mail. I regret that I have no other recourse than to file this complaint.Desired Settlement: Check to be sent via overnight mail service in the amount of $3492.29

Dear [redacted],

Acknowledging your communication concerning the above referenced matter, I am somewhat confused since we had issued a disbursement check and the check had been processed apparently before the complaint was filed.

Enclosed copy of the instrument including the posting and endorsement

If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me.

Respectfully,

Review: I was referred to Citizen Public Adjusters to help facilitate the cost of damage that ocurred at my home were my elderly parents live. The estimate was made by insurance company back on 8/28/14. A check had not been issued. The adjuster Mike asked my insurance company to send the check. The check was issured to Citizen Public Adjusters on 10/11 and cashed on 10/15. I called the office on 10/22 and was told that my mortgage company had to sign off on the check and they would call be back. No call back. I call the office the week of Oct 24th and no answer. I called my adjuster Mike several times with numerous messages and no response. I finally talked to Mike on 10/30/14 who stated that there was some problems going on in the office but no clear picture was given. He stated that a letter would be coming out next week. I was informed that I would be given my money which is thousands of dollars and not to worry. I was told that the office would be open on Monday 11/3/14. Called the office and no response.Desired Settlement: I want my money that my insurance company sent to them to have my house repaired and the money I have already put out.

Review: Sandy storm hit!October 29th 2012. They came in, scooped up as many in the neighborhood as they could. The guy that convinced us, said they would represent us as if it were us doing everything. He said they would be our advocate with the insurance company, coordinate whatever contractors and such.

He assured us he would get engineers in there to prove the house was irreparable. Regardless , he had no doubt that there was much more compensation due us based on the condition of the house and the fact that the initial inspector from the insurance company spent less than 20 minutes in the house and created a quick report off of that.

To date, July 19th, 2013, we have absolutely nothing.no reports from any engineers, inspectors or that anyone ever even looked at our house. It is just rotting away. We were turned over immediately to another adjuster, who for months lied to us, didn't return calls, or emails without repeated attempts.

After we finally had enough and said we wanted to be released from our contract since they did not provide any service, they sent a bill. The bill was for things that never even occurred.

I called the company and asked for the manager. After two weeks of them putting me off I demanded that he return my call.We finally spoke last Friday. he assured me he would look into over the weekend and call me first thing Monday morning. he did not. Had to call and demand again that he speak with me. He did call me back Monday and assured me he was going to get to the bottom of things and call me right back. Today Friday he still had not called. I called and again they refused to get me in touch with him.

Spoke with A representative of the company. She was so rude that I was shocked! She refused to help saying that I could only speak with The general manager and that I would have to wait for him to come in on Monday at noon.Desired Settlement: To be released from our contract and the bill adjusted to reflect 0. They did not perform any service

Review: We hired citizens public adjusters to assist us with getting insurance reimbursement following damage to Our home in [redacted] city following hurricane Sandy. This company has not returned phone calls or answered questions. I can call for days. I get voice mail or the secretary takes my name and tells me I will get a call back. It has been several months since the hurricane. We have yet to receive any money which we need to make necessary repairs to our home. They never return calls or up date you with the insurance situation. It should not be taking this long to get the needed funding. When I actually did get to talk with my adjuster they did not have my file and acted like they did not even know who I was.

This is very poor customer service. They are supposed to be working for me. I do not appreciate being ignored by the adjusters. I do not think it is that difficult to return a call.Desired Settlement: I want a phone call. I want correct information and I want the money from the insurance company so much needed repairs can be done to the house. Each week I am watching more siding fall off the house. This is causing further damage to our home. We need the insurance money to fix the repairs. My adjuster is [redacted]

The owner is [redacted]
