Customer *** *** came to our shop on June 30, to drop off her Ford Expedition for diagnosticShe came in with a complaint that the vehicle Overdrive light would blink on and off, and as she, “drives between 35-40mph surging in transmission.” We test drove the vehicle and notice the
“surging” that was mention by the customerThe surge or hesitation didn’t just act up at high speedsIt was noticeable any time you try to accelerate, but gets worse at higher speedsWe also scanned the vehicle with our computer diagnostic system and pulled up a code PBCat, which customer was aware ofTransmission was fine so we ruled that out, and focused on the Engine code and Acceleration HesitationWe put the vehicle on our lifts and did a full diagnostic around the vehicleWe notice that the vehicle had electrical wires that were loose and dangerously touching the muffler, which cause the electrical wires to meltSo we called *** *** and recommended that she take care of the Wiring and change out New Spark Plugs to see how the vehicle does afterwardsIn which, she approvedAfter we were done with the service the vehicle still had a hesitationWe called *** *** that the service was done but the vehicle was still acting upSo we recommended her to take the next step and take the vehicle to a muffler shop to examine/replace her catalytic convertorShe came by on July 3, 2017, paid her bill of $and was on her way out of our lot, but came back to the shop and complained to us that the vehicle was still having the hesitation issue and was acting up moreWe explained to her like we did on the phone that we recommended getting the catalytic convertor replaced to see if it’ll solve the issueWe show *** *** a Muffler shop near by us that could do the jobAnd told her that if the catalytic convertor didn’t fix the issue, then to come back to us so we can move on to the next step*** *** understood and drove the vehicle of* *** never called us back so we assumed the Catalytic Convertor solved the issueAround a month later pass *** *** called our office telling us that, “we broke her engine,” and that she wanted us to buy her a new engineShe apparently took her vehicle to different mechanic shops to get the vehicle diagnosedThe Mechanic told her that we put in the new spark plugs incorrectly which cause the vehicle to lose compression and the engine to breakWhich doesn’t make any sense because Spark plugs do not control compressionWe asked her did she ever take the vehicle to the muffler shop and why didn’t she give us a call like we asked her to if the vehicle was still acting up? To which she replied, she didn’t want to bring it back to usWe gave *** *** the opportunity to bring the vehicle by so we can diagnose it but she complained and threatened to sue us if we didn’t give her a new engineWe try to help her out but she didn’t want to bring the vehicle back
