We have been working with [redacted] on his complaint. In short, the bicycle he brought to us was not damaged by a simple 'just riding along and fell' sort of crash, regardless of the cause of such a crash. In our nearly 30 years of business, we've only ever seen the type of damage that we saw on...

[redacted] bicycle when a bicycle has made contact with an automobile. The frame and fork are severely damage, beyond repair. While I had been willing to work with him on what potentially went wrong at the shop (though I am not prepared to accept liability for it), City Bikes is simply not responsible for the severe damage done to the bicycle in question. Because [redacted] is unwilling to accept this, and because he insists on continuing this dispute, I've decided to meet him in the middle and provide a used bicycle of comparable value to the one in question. He has been notified of this decision and I'm told he is satisfied. I hope the Revdex.com will consider this 'case closed.'Thank you,Saul L[redacted]General ManagerCity Bikes Inc.

My main complaint is that they charged me $6 for bolts (plural), but only put one of them on my bike. The standard retail price for a single bolt is less than a $1. They showed me the bag of bolts that I was being charged for -- but they refused to give me what I paid for. I did not realize that they had put on only one of the bolts until I had gotten home.
The man that appeared to be the maintenance leader in the back was exceptionally rude to customers, including myself. He scratched a woman's bike that had been brought in by abruptly pushing it on its side because -- apparently -- it was in his way. He sneered at me when I asked why the bolts (once again -- that is "bolts" with an "s") cost $6.
Then, I went to borrow a tool at the front of the shop to lower my bike seat. There was no other customers in this part of the store and there was a lot of open space. It was over 100 degrees outside. When I began lowering my bike seat (a process that takes less than a minute), the man at the counter told me that I had to go outside.
I started to go outside as he had rudely instructed me when the other employee at the desk screamed at me to give him my cellphone. I gave him a really confused look, and he then screamed at me that he needed collateral in case I stole their wrench (I find this particularly ironic now that I know they stole my money for the bolts). I fixed my bike outside, got my phone, paid, and got out of there as soon as possible.
