BUYER BEWARE of Blue Ribbon Roofing LLC, McKinney, TX,The owner John [redacted] has operated under several different business names: Signature Roofing, Bold Renovations (and variations thereof, ie Bold Roofing), and most recently Blue Ribbon Roofing, who sold me my TPO roof in January, I have an architecturally significant home with a series of flat roof linesI contracted Blue Ribbon to replace the existing roof with a Firestone productBlue Ribbon instead installed a different product by CarlisleThey also installed new coping, and retro-fitted (3) skylightsJohn [redacted] did not inform me of the product change, file a city permit, or provide the subcontractor's installation license for the installed product Carlisle manufacturerHe said the project would take two days, it took days, and they disconnected my DirectTV, did not pay to reinstallAt the end of the install and final cash payment, John [redacted] assured me all the drains had been address and cleared, trees would be trimmed, and the installer would remove all the trash, clean the work site My roof began to show leaks weeks later, in late February, I had three flat tires from improper site cleaning (nails in tires)Trees were hanging over roof drains and rubbing against the home None of the old caulking had been removed and resealed around the perimeter flashing of all exterior walls, and all the coping had been screwed on the topThe installer not use the standard clipping system or wood blocking at the top of the parapet wallsWater was pooling and not reaching clogged drains In April, Blue Ribbon Roofing cleared the drains, replaced two of the three skylights, replaced vents, and caulked over existing caulkIn May, 2018, as they painted the interior water damage, other leaks were detected in the living room, and master bath and closetBlue Ribbon did not address any of these new leaks at that time I hired an independent roof inspector who documented deficiencies in the installationI have more issues, including interior water and electrical damageIn July, 2018, I made a final attempt for Blue Ribbon to honor their install and warrantyHowever, my roof continues to leak, and my home will not pass [redacted] city or home inspectionI am currently unable to sell my home

Called the previous number [redacted] This is no longer a working number for the companyThen I went to the website, https://www[redacted] .net/ and called that number, (XXX) XXX-XXXX I spoke to a gentleman, who identified himself as, Anthony, who first asked me what company did I think I was calling I stated, Signature Roofing and I stated that they did work on my roof back in Anthony stated that, "I had the wrong number and that their was no way he could research records back to 2010." I asked him if this was Signature Roofing? He said, "yes"Then I said that I have the right number, but that I wanted to clarify that he was saying there was no way to help meAnthony said, "yes." This company replaced my roof and I know that I had a year shingle warranty on the roof

Blue Ribbon Roofing did an excellent job putting a new roof on my houseEverything was explained to me, they did it in hours and left no debris in my yardVery professional

I would steer clear of Blue Ribbon RoofingI looked into them myself after speaking with the owner, John ***, about roof repairs I had also seen their name as a sponsor for a local event as well as a volley of advertisements around townHowever after doing some basic digging I found that the owner has operated under several different business names: Signature Roofing, Bold Renovations (and variations thereof, ie Bold Roofing), and most recently Blue Ribbon RoofingThat was the first red flagSo I looked into him and his various roofing companies a little more closelyQuick searches of public databases show poor Revdex.com ratings and numerous online complaints from former customers for failure to complete work, taking money and never doing any work, and failing to return money Looked a little more and found civil lawsuits against him and his business in Collin county that ended in judgements against him, civil lawsuits against him personally in Collin and Dallas counties, what appear to be civil contempt charges, an eviction, a foreclosure, past criminal charges, and even one currently pending criminal charge against him in Collin county This is all easily verifiable public information I even came across a video on YouTube that claims to be of Hopkins stealing another roofer's yard sign; not sure how they confirmed it was him but it sure looks like it could be him and his rather unique Dodge truckWith that much negative information found based on just a quick search of public sources it does not seem like an owner or company to trust with your money or home repairs so I was fortunate enough to be able to pull out of the deal before I lost any money

roof installed in 2012, the numbers for the company are either disconnected, don't work, or no one calls backSignature Roofing LLC may either be out of business or just non responsive

I have had a very easy time dealing and communicating with Blue Ribbon RoofingThe process has been explained very well, and has been made very easy at every turn, from filing of my claim, to the review of the damage, to the scheduling of the repairs

I've had the privilege of working with *** *** on replacing two of my roofs on my houseI wouldn't have used *** a second time if I had any concerns from the first time he replaced my roof* does an outstanding job of following up and making sure all of my needs were not only met but exceededHe puts customer satisfaction first and will never sacrifice qualityI highly recommend *** and his team at Blue Ribbon Roofing for all of your roofing needsHe's a class act and someone you can trust to do the job right, on time and within budgetThank you ***!

Review: The "new" owner refused to accept the balance of a gift card in payment for our meal, stating that she had been honoring certs for the past year. I was told after the fact that she was actually listening at the service door to the waitress conveying her message. Horrible business practice! The owner needs to be directed to California Civil Code Sections 1749.45-1749.6 regarding gift card redemption and expiration. The food is fine, the waitress was great, the business practice of this owner has something to be desired. If I have anything to say about it, my friends and family will not patronize this restaurant under this ownership.I noticed that they are not accredited by Revdex.com, also not a member of our local Chamber of Commerce. I wonder why.Desired Settlement: $43 plus change was left on the gift certificate.
