Review: On 7/31/2014 I came to VW in hopes of negotiating a purchase price for my leased 2011 Jetta. I have spoken to [redacted], the sales manager, a few days before that over email and he had given me the price of $10,556 (residual value) plus $500 for the "purchase option fee". [redacted] told me the price wasn't negotiable. I then asked him several times whether there was any other way for me to save money by maybe reducing the "purchase option fee" or any other fee. He advised me that the "purchase option fee" was a "flat fee" that they impose and can not be waived nor decreased. I agreed to purchase the vehicle without any discount and pay cash. While the finance gentlemen - let's call him F ( I don't recall his name)- was preparing the finance documents, [redacted] left me in an office with a salesman, whose name I also don't remember but let's call him S. Mr. S asked me to fill out a credit application. I reiterated to him that I was going to pay cash for the car and don't want inquiry on my credit report as I was not interested in financing. He assured me that credit application was just for them to have "on file" and they won't be putting an inquiry on my credit. After waiting over 1hr for the finance docs,I found out he ran my credit report without my permission! I thought something wasn't right so before I signed anything I compared the numbers to my original "leasing contract". Sure enough, the "purchase fee" on my initial contract was only "$350". [redacted] came back to the office and reassured me that $500 is the dealer fee and $350 is what I would have paid if I were to purchase the vehicle directly through VW bank. He kept trying to push me to sign and even offered to give me a $150 "discount" but when he saw that I wasn't convinced, he raised his voice, ripped the new contract they had just created in front of my face and left. I was left with no choice but to leave and call the bank, which is when I found out that there is NO FEE whatsoever if I pay directly to VW.Desired Settlement: I contacted [redacted] after I left the VW dealership that day to ask him to remove the inquiry from my credit report. [redacted] was rude over the phone and did not give me a straight answer. Instead he asked if going to dealerships and "pretending" to want to purchase a vehicle and then changing my mind the very last minute was something I do often. I made several attempts to follow up with him but they were unsuccessful.

First of all, I would like the inquiry taken on my credit report as it was obtained illegally. I also feel that it is necessary for [redacted] to take some additional training on how to treat customers with respect. Finally and most importantly, I demand some training on the meaning of legal contract and repercussions of misrepresenting to customers in order to charge them additional fees. [redacted] lied to me about the "purchase option fee" in order to charge me additional funds. This kind of service is dishonest and unprofessional!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

As of today, September 8th, 2014, the credit inquiry from VW is still on my credit report. I have attached it for your reference. This complaint will not be resolved until the credit inquiry gets taken off my credit report as it should have never been put on there without my permission. The sales manager, [redacted] Old, never returned my phone call to confirm he made a request to remove the credit inquiry nor did he call to apologize.

This is in regards to Complaint ID: [redacted]. I was told to write back in case the inquiry is still showing on my credit 30 days later. It's been well over 30 days and it's still on my credit report.

Review: the finance agent charged $2595. for a service he stated was done at the time the car was delivered. we did not want this wax for $2595. and he stated we needed to pay for this for it was done previous to our purchase, we did not sign off on this added service! This individual also charged us $1195. for a identifier which can catch a persons finger prints if stolen? The car as a theft deterrant, onstar system, alarms and passive shutdown system. This is a gouge after the sale and the extra's added up to $9962.The finance agent charged us 2% over the same bank they used, [redacted], 800-872-2657, acc# 0[redacted] they told me credits due would be payed in 10 days, the 13th of march but since this date may,27th the balance to us. bank not payed. GM is hurting because dealers are legally left to steal form the consumer and it needs to stop!!Desired Settlement: I would like to see them pay restitution in the amount of $9962. This does not include stress and integrity I no longer have in the retail market![redacted]

Business

Response:

This is a written response to a complaint filed against City Chevrolet #[redacted] regarding [redacted] and his purchase of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Mr. [redacted] states in his complaint that he wants $9962 for the items he purchased with his new car. He had financed his purchased thru [redacted] and the items in question were refunded to [redacted] prior to his complaint. Since those items were financed in the installment contract for the car the amount of $6172.00 was sent to [redacted] and the check cleared 5/28/2014, 1 day after Mr. [redacted] filed the complaint. The amount of financed charge in question in his complaint was also refunded to him by [redacted] when he paid the contract off. The total amount of refunds to him by City Chevrolet and [redacted] equals the amount in his complaint filed. Therefore all the issues addressed in the complaint have been addressed and resolved.

Mr. [redacted] was fully aware of all the items he purchased prior to his buying the car. He took several days to complete the transaction and agreed to all the terms and conditions including setting up a delivery out of state so he could avoid California sales tax. After he notified us of his desired to cancel the products we took care of his requests in a timely fashion.

I trust this will satisfy and resolve the complaint.

Regards,

without my knowledge city Chevrolet charged me 2595.00 for a sprayed wax that 5 other chevy dealers charge a average of $600. to $800. dollars. I told the sales manager I didn't want the car and he told me I purchased it already. The second outragous bill was $1195. for a identifier coating to track someone that steals vehicle. The car has northstar, passive shutoff system and alarms? Wy would I need fingerprint solution to find who stole car when northstar tracks immediately? I was told both where performed when the car came off trailer and that's why I was forced to pay this package! City chevy are loan sharks of the worst kind!!

[redacted] & [redacted]

I have seven dealerships with prices for enhancement, if you need names and amounts please contact.

Response:

Dear Ms [redacted]:

This is another response to the complaint submitted to Revdex.com by [redacted] ID[redacted].

As stated in his letter dated 7/10/2014 regarding the issues he had with his purchase of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. All of his issues had been resolved prior to his sending a letter to Revdex.com except for the final 2 issues he stated in his latest response.

Regarding the Paint Sealant and Identifier that was applied to the car prior to his purchase. Mr [redacted] had no less than 6 times came into the dealership and looked at the car prior to his purchase and was fully aware of the Paint Sealant and the Warranty that came with it as well as the Identifier and the Insurance that came with the product. After days of negotiation he decided to buy and the car and have us deliver it to him in Yuma, Arizona so he wouldn’t pay California sales Tax. We agreed and delivered the car upon his request several weeks after he purchased the car. These items are add ons to the car which can’t be removed once applied. Mr [redacted] knew this and decided he wanted the car regardless. Mr. [redacted] has these warranties and insurance in place and will get their benefit if he ever needs to file a claim. All other issues have been resolved. City Chevrolet believes we have done nothing wrong and that all of these items were negotiated with Mr [redacted] prior to sale.

We sincerely hope that this will clear up any and all issues regarding this claim

IN REFERENCE TO OUR LAST COORESPONDANCE I REGRET TO INFORM

YOU THAT ALL OF THE DETAILS OF THE CORVETTE PURCHASE WERE

FABRICATED!

THE SALES MANAGER, [redacted], TOLD ME THAT THE CAR'S TOTAL PRICE

WAS $5000.00 OVER MANUFACTURES RETAIL PRICE, WHICH WOULD

HAVE BEEN $67,025 PLUS THE $5000. I DID NOT PURCHASE THE CAR,

FOR THEY STATED WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TEST DRIVE THE

VEHICLE WITHOUT PUTTING A SUBSTANTIAL DEPOSIT ON IT. THEY

MADE IT SOUND LIKE THE CAR THAT I WANTED WOULD BE SOLD

WITHOUT A HUGE DEPOSIT!!

WE DEPARTED THE DEALERSHIP, FOR I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE THE

CAR WITHOUT A TEST RIDE? THE INTERNET DIRECTOR, CHARLES,

CALLED ME BACK AND EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD GET THE TEST RIDE

AND THE PRICE WAS FIRM!! $67,025.00

I GAVE THEM A CHECK FOR $25.000.00 TO HOLD THE CAR AND THE

SALES GOUGING STARTED WHEN THE SALES MANAGER, ATKIN, AND

THE FINANACE MANAGER ADDED THE FOLLOWING:

CASH PRICE ACCESSORIES: $350.00

DOCUMENT PROCESSING: $80.00

OPTIONAL: THEFT DETTERANT DEVICE: $1195.00

OPTIONAL: SURFACE PROTECTION PRODUCT: $2595.THE OPTIONAL

QUOTES WERE NOT APPROVED BY ME AND I REFUSED TO PAY AND

WANTED THE DEAL CANCELLED. MR. [redacted] SAID THE CAR WAS PAID

FOR AND IT WAS MINE ALREADY!

THE SALES MANAGER; [redacted]; INDICATED THE PRICE AT $67025 PLUS

$5000, BUT THE FINANCE DIRECTOR BROUGHT THE FINAL COST TO

$76,989.

THE IRONY IS THAT ALL OUR DEALERS IN SAN DIEGO AREA WANTED

$600.00 TO $875.00 FOR SURFACE PROTECTION AND WOULD RECOAT

AFTER SEVEN YEARS. CITY CHEVRELOT DID REMOVE SUPERIOR

WARRANTY FOR $5277. BUT ONLY AFTER I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER

SERVICE! MY WIFE ANO,I Pl:JRGHASE9 T-HE-SAME EXTENDED

WARRANTY FOR $2250.00 AT A CHEVY DEALER IN BOERN,TX.

WE FEEL WITH THE ADDED SECURITY WE ALREADY HAVE ON THE

VEHICLE WE DO NOT NEED A DUST SPRAYED ON THE CAR TO LOCATE

THIEVES!! WE HAVE GPS, ONSTAR, PASSIVE SHUT OFF, ALARMS ETC.

THE SPRAYED ON COATING COST $200.00 AND I WILL PAY $600.00 TO

APPLY IT, BUT $2595.00 IS EXCESSIVE.

SINCERELY,

Review: During my recent visit at City VW, I was in the process of negotiating terms with a sales rep and the finance associate when suddenly, a person named [redacted]. walked into the room claiming to be the sales manager. His exact words were " We're giving you this car at a good price, you're stealing from me, I don't want to waste your time and don't waste my time" I immediately felt offended by his condescending tone and responded by telling him, this is my second visit and I wanted to feel comfortable leaving with the right vehicle at the right price. His follow up to my statement was " I understand that, but you're getting a good deal and I can't do anything for you on any other car. " After [redacted] left the room, I continued my initial negotiation with [redacted] (The finance associate) who was very helpful and patient. After finally coming to a conclusion, I agreed to sign the paperwork and take home the car I initially came in for. [redacted] took my paper work which included a credit app and said he would be back after he made some copies. 20 minutes later, [redacted] comes into the room instead of [redacted] and this time he tells me he would have to finish the paperwork and I would come back for the vehicle the following afternoon to pick it up. When I asked if its possible to take it home tonight and come back in the morning, [redacted] began to pull out my credit report which I wasn't told would be ran in the first place, and he began highlighting a few things on it and saying the following " Can you explain to me what this is, and why this is there ?" " I cant believe they did this to you" "Why is this on your report". At this point I felt very offended since I came in with a Capital One auto finance check which meant I already had financing and did not need to discuss or run a credit application to begin with. [redacted] was very rude from the beginning and insulting, and when he saw I was frustrated he simply said " Have a good night"Desired Settlement: Remove hard credit inquiry by contacting the Credit Bureau and proper actions are taken against the sales manager.

Business

Response:

First of all I want to apologize for the customers experience. Although the manager was following store policy his approach was not acceptable and has been reprimanded for his actions. We have reached out to the customer to see if we could resolve the issue but as far as I know no response.

Beware if financial dealings. I bought a 2015 Passant from City Volkswagen thru the USAA Auto service (TrueCar). I was expecting the lending to go thru VW credit, which is offering 0% for 72 months + plus a 1,000 dollar reward card. In the process I made it a fact I wanted it finance thru VW.

I was told I was GETTING such a good deal, VW credit could not be used. Instead I ended up with a 3.89% load from a Bank.... it took me 3 days to find WHICH bank they sent it to, I spent days going over the loan document... no where did it say WHAT bank.

When I mentioned this once again to the Sales Agent I got this reply: VW Credit did not have the best interest rate available for you with the ‘big’ discount that you

received.

CAN you believe that **? What has a "big" discount have to do with financing? If they don't want to give a BIG discount via the "TrueCar" value, or that it is a year end model now; then they shouldn't participate in the program.

BTW - my credit score is 749.. so there shouldn't be an issue with VW credit.

The thing I now get, is the BIG discount is a payback from the lender they chose.

City Volkswagen can not be trusted and very unethical. STAY a way from them. This kind of "dealing" should not happen.... Next time I buy a car, I'll use COSTCO.

Review: I've tried to speak with this business multiple times regarding the fact that my car was not handled properly in their cared. My dilemma with this business is that I believe when they originally drove my car to test it. They either hit a curb or a large pothole which damaged my vehicle's suspension. I tried to speak with the service manager regarding my concerns, and reimbursement to the damages of my vehicle. He kept cutting me off, and trying to put the blame on me. His demeanor was aggressive, defensive, and unprofessional. Finally after blatantly ignoring me. He stated that he will not even consider my point. After, my meeting with the manager, I sent a certified Letter of Complaint to the GM which was returned, because the GM did not claim it. My concerns were never properly address, and they have treated my properly carelessly.Desired Settlement: I would like City Chevrolet to compensate me for the money, I had to pay in order to fix their mistake. The amount was $500. I would also like the GM to properly address my concerns.

*. [redacted],

My name is [redacted] and I am the Service Manager at City

Chevrolet. I am contacting you in reference to Mr. [redacted] ID #

[redacted]. Mr. [redacted] had his vehicle in our Dealership on 10/04/2012

With 77337 miles on the vehicle. He had three listed

concerns. #1 Customer stated steering feels loose. Cause: inspected suspension

no problem found. Tires are oversized and half worn. Possible cause of loose

feeling in steering. Correction: No corrective action taken

Concern # 2 Customer states that vehicle is idling rough

when at a light or when first started. Cause: Test vehicle computer for trouble

codes non stored. Check and found all parameters within normal range.

Correction: No corrective action taken or recommended

#3 Customer stated when driving at freeway speed it feels as

if the Transmission is not shifting into higher gear.

Cause: Tested codes and no codes stored in computer.

Correction: No corrective action taken or recommended

In early March 2013 Mr. [redacted] came into the Dealership

and spoke with myself. He told me that he suspected that when his vehicle was

in our shop we must have damaged it by hitting something. He and I inspected

the wheels on the vehicle for any visible damage the only noted damage at that

time was the left rear rim had some slight curb rubbing. I told him at that

point that I was willing to check the alignment at no charge to him. He

indicated that he did not have the time for that. We then went and spoke with

the Technician that had worked on his vehicle. We showed Mr. [redacted] the

alignment specs of his vehicle and he insisted that the cambers needed

replacing. I advised him that the vehicle has no part named a camber and the

only way to correctly adjust the camber on his vehicle was to elongate the

front strut mounting holes. He told me that his mechanic said it needed

cambers. I again offered to align his vehicle at no charge and he again

declined the offer. Mr. [redacted] waited five months after the vehicle was in

our facility to speak with me and in that time drove some 2000 miles. I do not

feel that we are responsible for the repairs to his vehicle as it came to us

with a complaint of the steering feels loose. However I am willing to reimburse

him the 105.00 that we charged him to tell him that nothing was wrong other

than over size and worn tires.

Respectfully,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Important details of my conversation with the business in reference are inaccurate. I do remember the discussion regarding the alignment, however there was nothing stated that the alignment was free of charge. I do however recall them questioning the validity of my other mechanic's work. I've had my car aligned at my mechanic for years. There has never been a problem of this magnitude. My mechanic who spotted the issue before he aligned it, and who replaced my cambers was more than willing to speak directly to the business in reference about my car, how I take care of it, and how I've never had camber problems. I gave the business in reference my mechanics contact information, and work order. I asked them to call my mechanic, and he would speak to them about the repairs to my car in greater detail, but they refused. I've had my car since 2006, and there has never been an issue regarding the oversized tires from any GMC certified mechanic, except the business in reference. My tires are well within specifications. I've made sure of it before I installed them. The tires have never been an issue to the cambers, nor will it ever be. The damage I incurred was a result of a sudden and harsh impact from the business in reference. It cost me approximately $385.00 to get my car checked at the business in reference, plus another $500.00 to fix the problem they've created. A refund of just $105.00 is insufficient.]

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted],

I am sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] feels this offer was

not acceptable. He has offered no invoices to show any money spent on any

repairs at this time. The dollar amounts that he has stated are confusing to

me. The total dollar amount the Mr. [redacted] spent with City Chevrolet to

inspect his suspension concern was $99.00 he did have two other items checked

on this visit and his total bill was

$247.25 The repair order shows miles in and miles out

of 77337 miles. Again I state that this was not brought to my attention for

five months and some 2,000 miles since we looked at his vehicle. In an attempt

to settle this issue my final offer will be that City Chevrolet will reimburse

Mr. [redacted] $247.25 that he spent at our dealership.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Mr. [redacted],

I have read Mr. [redacted]'s response and I believe he is trying to move away from the main issue, while at the same time questioning the integrity of the information I've provided. My original and current issue with Mr. [redacted] and City Chevrolet is the way they've handled my business and the way they've handled my complaint.

What Mr. [redacted] failed to acknowledge in his cost calculations was the $500 dollars I had to pay for damages incurred to my vehicle. In addition to this payment was also the intangible cost of time. I've spent a lot of time driving from my location to Mr. [redacted]'s business in order to resolve the matter at hand. I've also spent a significant amount of time trying to contact Mr. [redacted]'s and his business, as well as trying to resolve this matter without a third party being involved. The previous attachment of the Letter of Complaint, that I've certified mailed to City Chevrolet, in which they've refused to accept, provides proof of wasted effort and time on my part. The letter is also proof that Mr. [redacted] and City Chevrolet decided not to handle an issue of one of their customers without the Revdex.com's involvement.

I do appreciate the efforts of Mr. [redacted] trying to resolve this matter. However, the total cost of services I've paid Mr. [redacted]'s business, and the cost to repair the incurred damages to my vehicle after the services provided, adds up to almost three times more than the cost of his reimbursement.

However, as previously state, I do appreciate Mr. [redacted] and City Chevrolet's efforts to try and resolve this matter. Therefore, I am willing to completely resolve this complaint for a reimbursement of $300.00.

Regards,

Review: I leased a new 2014 Jettta on July 10.2014 from City VW. One monththe before ,I discussed with the sales's rep. whom I have know for over 7 years about what I should do about my 2011 leased jetta before turning it in for a new one because it had a cracked windshield and minor damage to the back fender. My insurance (USAA) would cover the repairs minus the deductible.I wanted to be able to get the repairs done when I turned the car in for a new one.The sales rep([redacted]) told me that since my car only had 16,000 miles and no other damage, they would accept the car as is as long as I puchased a new one.

And so on July 10,I picked up my new car, signed the contract with the finance dept. and drove home.Three weeks later,I received a bill for $1001 from VW Credit Inc. stating the I had to pay for the damages to the car. I was quite surprised and upset.so I called [redacted] and he never returned my call,so I emailed him which I have done several times previously, but he never respnded to my concerns although he was working.A week later,I talked to the Business Manager,[redacted],for about thirty minutes, and he said he would get back to me after he talked to [redacted] but he has not done so.The Collection Agency sent me another bill, but I think I have been treated badly and do not think I should be liable for this bill.

I would appreciate your comments and advice on this issue. Thank you.

I'm sorry it has taken so long to get to the bottom of this. Our salesman [redacted] assumed what he thought the bank would do but was incorrect. I appreciate the fact that [redacted] could have had his car repaired by his insurance company minus his deductible. At this time to resolve the issue I will send [redacted] a check for the $1001 he got the bill for. We apologize for the inconvience and hope this will satisfactorily resolove the issue

Regards,

Review: I am filing this complaint against City Chevrolet because my car has been improperly repaired and City would like to be paid in full for the work they have done. My car is still at their shop more than 6 weeks since I left it with them for the repair work.

To summarize, on 8/15/13, my car, a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, was damaged in a front end car accident. Following the accident, my insurance company State Farm (agent [redacted]) authorized repair of the car at their pre-approved shop, City Chevrolet and VW, with my consent due to it's proximity to my house and it's being a long established business. On 8/17/13 I left my car with City. On 8/20/13, City promised to repair the car in full within approx 10 days. After more than 6 weeks, the repair of the car has only been partially completed due to the shop's inability to obtain a main part. The approx 42" wide by 16" tall prominent front grill (the car's "smile") is missing.

Since the car was deemed drivable, on 8/30/13. I was asked to accept the car AS IS, pay my full $1000 deductible and allow the shop to be paid the remainder of $4374 minus approx $500 for the missing grill. State Farm told me the grill would be installed later IF it became available. No time frame was established and no alternate compensation to me was promised if the grill could not be found. City Chevrolet should have investigated all key parts prior to starting the work and they also should not have thrown out the old grill until the new one was obtained. They should have explained the possibility that parts might not be found and offered me the choice to total the car and get a cash payment of approx. $8125 minus my $1000 deductible. City told me that had full authority to act on State Farm's behalf to authorize a course of action on the car.Desired Settlement: The car should be fully repaired within 30 days or the car should be considered non-repairable, and I should be paid $7125 (full value before accident minus my deductible) either by City Chevrolet or by State Farm. Also I am requesting compensation from City Chevrolet or State Farm for being without my car and having to borrow a car at $20 per day above the $600 limit of my State Farm policy extending thru the date that the case is settled.

Business

Response:

The customer has a very legitimate complaint in that we have not been able to complete the repair to her 2004 Crossfire. The part is not available from Chrysler of from a wrecking yard. City Chevrolet has placed a part order with Midway Chrysler Jeep since 08/20/2013 and we are number 145 on a back order list. With no promise time for a part. On September 9th we placed an order Brunswick auto mart and it was not in stock either. We have tried e bay and craigs list as well as auto dismantlers. The customer may have a claim with her insurance for total loss as this vehicle parts are not available.

The customer was notified on 08/30/2013 that all repair work other than the grill was completed and that vehicle was drivable. She elected to not take the vehicle at this time. City Chevrolet has acted in good faith and we are still attempting to obtain a part to complete this repair.
