Review: I have been married for 20 years and finally I get to upgrade my engagement ring for a 14 karat white gold ring diamond setting. My husband and I had been through a very bad financial situation. I never expected for him to save up money for him to buy me the setting I have been waiting for so many years. I had my dream ring for almost a year and I see a black spot on the ring. I speak to [redacted] and he immediately offers me a new ring. to avoid the same issue I settle for an 18 karat diamond gold setting. I had to pay an additional $200 dollars. My husband and I don't have the money but we talk about it and decide that is the best decision to settle the situation. I leave the store and the 18 karat ring is a little loose so I take the ring off and check to see if I have to have it resized. I see a dent on two sides of the ring, so I go back and the jeweler fixed the dent. I look at the ring again and ask the jeweler if it is 18 karat. I am reassured but I leave the jewelry store with a knot on my stomach . I was in the mall last month and had the ring appraised. The ring is 14 karat and it does not have the 18 karat seal. The appraiser concluded that this ring was sold before resized and was a 14 karat setting. I don't ave the stomach to go back to the jeweler shop and go through the disappointment of getting another ring from a shop that takes advantage of hard working people. I am driving to Canada for a death in the family and can not take care of this by myself. I am in a state of depression and feel cheated. I want my full $722.60 back so I can keep my original setting and know my ring is not a fake. I called the store and [redacted] said he will take full responsibility and take care of my situation.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $722.6014k white gold diamond setting $522.60 purchased 9/**/1218k gold diamond setting $200.00 purchased 8/*/13

[redacted] purchased a white gold setting from our jewelry store. After wearing it, there appears to be a black spot on the ring. We suspect that she is allergic to nickel b/c all white gold rings have a layer of nickel over the gold. Therefore, we suggested that she change it to yellow gold, which does not have nickel to it. Customer alleges that our ring is not 18Kt gold and it is a used ring and a fake ring. We guarantee that our ring is what it is, 18kt gold, new, and genuine diamond. Customer can bring the ring to a independent certified license appraiser and if it is not 18Kt or diamond, we will definitely refund the money to [redacted]. Customer should not bring the ring to a jewelry store at a mall b/c they are jewelers (they make jewelry), and not certified appraisers. Independent means they do not sell any jewelry, only do appraisal so they are fair and not bias. Many times, customers don't know the differe nce between jewelers and licensed appraisers. If customer have any other problems or questions, we will gladly resolve the issue.
