submitting your thorough rendition. While I will remainobjective, I will also focus on contractual content, interpretation, and what we provide beyond thenorm. Pricing for our construction projects is figured on a credit or cash basis, with cash pricingdiscounted and credit pricing at premium. Your project price, without extras, was arrived at through thediscounted choice, or cash price. While approximate prices quoted over the phone may start anegotiation, they may not be reflective of actual jobsite conditions, travel distances, special conditions,product and service choices, and actual quantities measured by Sales Agents. We do not useinformation from other companies to provide solid quotes. We do that ourselves upon arrival at the siteand determination of quantity, type, and preferences, follows.With 4' wide ornamental iron fencing gates, we provide superior gate posts, 3" x 3" posts. The clientrequested we remove these superior posts, in favor of less structural 2" x 2" posts for the gates.Ultimately, he received what he requested, against our policy of using better, larger, stronger gateposts. It is not particularly peculiar to use stronger gate posts versus using 2" x 2" line posts. It Is wiseand best to do this and we will continue to do so. Also, we will continue to provide superior gatesystems to our clients and/or special requests in the future.Concerning contract verbiage, for many years, we have contained in our contracts, the description, aprovision for change orders, & a jackhammer clause. in this instance, I understand there was no chargefor the requested change order for the gate systems. I also understand there were post holes whichrequired jackhammer to complete. According to the signed agreement, the jackhammer charges wereapplicable, confirmed, and added as the extra which it was, to arrive at the balance due. Therefore, therequest of refund is unavailable. However, in lieu of the requested refund, we will offer an additional upto 10% off any purchases made by the client or any members of his family in San Antonio, Tx.
