City First was sent out by my home warranty because there was no power going to my pool motor. The technician came out and reported it was an overload because the garage and pool were on the same breaker which was false as the garage still has full power and I had another electrician verify it. This was my second encounter with this company and both times (different problem) nothing was fixed.

Words can’t describe the amazing service I received. They were on time, finished quickly and was treated with respect. Great service. Keep up the good work

City First Electric is an amazing company with 10/10 service that I’ll definitely be recommending to all of my friends and family if they have any electrical needs at all! Thank you City First Electric!!

Number one in town
Highly recommend their services!
Professional on Time and Clean!!!

The best electric company I deal with and they are always on time and an excellent customer service ever

We have used Angel and his team for a variety of work from small to larger jobs. We have a renovation business and require electrical services for kitchens, bathrooms and many areas that need electrical service. On every occasion, city First electric have looked after us with prompt and expert service giving accurate advice and suggestions where needed. They are a friendly, hardworking team and I highly recommend their services.

This guys are the real deal. Professional and get the job done Very reasonable prices..They answered right away and showed up on time..Highly recommend!

I truly believe this company is knowingly running a scam. They are assigned by home warranty companies, they come out to trouble calls, don’t do any troubleshooting or diagnostics then close the case and leave. When called back for another visit they argued and pushed back very hard when I asked them to come again and attempt to diagnose the problem more thoroughly. For normal trouble calls, they collect fees from the home warranty companies then don’t do any work. Avoid this company at all costs!

I contacted our Home Warranty Company because the power went out in half f our home. Someone from City First came to our home and looked at our breaker box and told my wife and wrote a report that said that the box was overloaded and we would have to install an entirely new box. He said he couldn't do it that day, Friday and that it would have to wait until Monday. The temperature at the time was getting down to about 35 degrees at night in Santee whee we live. When I came home from work my wife told me that part of the breaker inside the box was melted and that I should look inside again. When looked inside none of the breakers was tripped but one of the breakers was partially melted. It looked unsafe. I called a local Electrician not part of the Warranty Company and I took pictures and messaged them to the Electrician directly who told me to turn of any power to any major things . The Electrician came out Saturday morning and looked at the situation and told me that I was lucky that our house hadn't burned down!!! It was a faulty Breaker and it was replaced in two hours (including the drive time to pick up the part at Home Depot). So City Fist Electric left my family in danger and then was either so incompetent that they didn't know what the problem was OR wrote a fraudulent report to tremendously overcharge us. Either way it is not at all acceptable.

City First Electric Response • Apr 01, 2019

Good Afternoon,

Here's our statement regarding this matter. Please let us know if there's anything we can assist. Thank you!

City First Electric Was dispatched to the customer and residence at: *** 10734 *** Dr, Santee CA, *** This was made at their request to their home warranty First American home protection plan. On February 22, 2019 we arrived at the property.

The technician diagnosed the issue and failure. Customer reported loss of power to the majority of the home. It was found that the customers main breaker had failed damaging both the main breaker and panel (one phase of the breaker had burnt out and the other phase stayed working that means the customer attached more loads to other one phase of the main panel and that's why it caused to fried the main breaker) . The Claim was processed through their home warranty within guidelines set up by their home warranty. The customers home warranty declined to pay for the repair needed. Thus ending the work at the customers property with City First Electric.

Worthless company. We has a few outlets in 2 rooms fail and called our home warranty company First *** Warranty. They sent out this contractor who came out, asked where the fuse box was, we showed him, he said that there must be another fuse box (there isn't) and then claimed that we were overloading a 20 amp circuit in the claim denial. So - how could we be overloading a circuit he claims is 20 amps when he couldn't find the circuit? Why didn't he even try to find the circuit? This company is worthless and this seems to be nothing more than a cover for an insurance scam. Yes, it is that bad.

I wish there were 0 stars to give City First Electric. Like many of the other comments, they were dispatched by First American Home Warranty. I will give them a 0, too. What a waste of time and aggravation.
Our breaker kept tripping and we called First American to have it repaired under our home warranty. We told them that we knew what was wrong, but they informed us that they had to send City First Electric and diagnose it themselves.
Cesar came out for 15-20 minutes tops, although he wrote on his invoice that he was here for 1 hour. He wrote in his description, "I checked the main pannel. It's not compatible for the house. Need to update and run a circuit for the new kitchen. The owners remodeled the kitchen installed new appliances but now only has one circuit."
First, we already knew the panel needed updating. We already had it diagnosed for free by three other reputable, licensed electricians. We only called First American because that is their procedure. Also, we were concerned that they would not reimburse us if we didn't follow their procedure.
Secondly, our kitchen is not new. It's the same kitchen from 1948, when the home was built. We have not remodeled our kitchen.
Thirdly, we did not install new appliances. Because the home is old, the current circuit cannot accommodate most new appliances. Actually, our kitchen is gutted except for the sink. We don't have any appliances. We have one Cuisinart Griddler, one Cuisinart hot plate, and one mini-refrigerator.
Fourth, my husband had to ask Cesar to look at the electrical panel and the only thing he told my husband is where they would put a new panel. My husband asked Cesar several questions, but he only told my husband what we already knew. Cesar did not offer any insightful information.
To top it all off, First American Home Warranty has the nerve to send us a bill for $75 for a service call. What service? Nothing was repaired. Nothing was diagnosed that we already didn't know. All of which I told to First American. All we were told was that it's not covered under our warranty. What a con job on the part of First American Home Warranty and City First Electric.
When I called First American they told me we have to pay the $75 service fee for diagnosis. I told them that they were already informed that we had a diagnosis, but they insisted that they had to get a diagnosis from City First Electric.
I called City First Electric to inquire about the charges and falsified work order description/diagnosis. First Jill said Cesar didn't remember because it was in November 2018. Then Jill said she tried to call Cesar and a manager, but neither are answering their phone. Jill said she'll update me in an hour.
When Jill updated me, she stated that the $75 fee was for First American Home Warranty. Although First American Home Warranty said it's for City First Electric. There seems to be some sort of cat and mouse game going on between those two companies. Also, she emailed a picture to me verifying that our kitchen is not remodeled with new appliances. She then states that the age of our home is what's causing the disruption in the breaker.
Finally, I will not renew our contract with First American Home Warranty. Luckily, the sellers paid for the home warranty, which was about $500. Also, if you have First American Home Warranty and need electrical work, DO NOT let them send City First Electric to your home. Read the all the negative reviews on Yelp and beware. It seems like they're consistent in their questionable practices.
