Review: I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my mother [redacted] who is ** years old. In April of 2014 we retained the services of City Funeral Service for the cremation of her cousin [redacted]. I spoke with [redacted] who is the [redacted] of the Funeral Home and was quoted a price of $795 for the cremation.When my mother and I went to pick up the remains, she was told the price was over $1350 ( approximately, as the invoice was not legible ).We traveled by car service from ** to [redacted] and since the cab was waiting, she paid in cash and we decided to review the invoice once we arrived home.Although the invoice was not legible, My Mother submitted the invoice to the [redacted] Court for reimbursement, but was told my the caseworker what we provided was not a receipt and she would not be reimbursed unless a receipt was provided. I sent [redacted] a letter requesting the receipt and a breakdown of the charges which would explain why the quoted price was doubled. After not hearing back, I requested that my Attorney, [redacted] contact the funeral home and try to obtain this info, she has been unsuccessful.I am receiving emails from the Court requesting this info and am hoping you can assist me with getting a receipt and breakdown of expenses.I can only assume since [redacted] has not responded to my multiple requests, that the bill may have been padded and he is unable of justify the inflated bill.Any assistance you can provide in resolving this would be greatly appreciated as we need to get this to the Court so that my Mother can be reimbursed.Regards[redacted]Desired Settlement: I am seeking a clear, legible copy of the invoice provided with a breakdown of fees and an explanation as to why the cremation cost was doubled and I need a receipt to submit to the court.If [redacted] is unable to justify the fees, I am seeking a refund of any fees over the quoted price of $795.
