Review: I brought my car to City Island Auto Body after I had an accident , my car was rear ended. They charge the insurance company 3800.00 dollars for a rear bumper. Although I thought that was a ripoff. The worst was yet to come.

They kept lying to me about when the car would be completed. 28 days later they call the insurance company and told them the car was finish , when I went to pickup the car The job was a mess. The bumper wasn't attached properly , It was totally lap sided on both ends and there was also a missing rear molding from the bumper. .

After I complained about the job, they promise they will take care of it , and promise to pay for the extra days I kept the rental car since the insurance company just stop paying for the car I was using . After not hearing from them for 2 days later ,I called and they told me the part didn't came in, even thou now I start suspecting that they never ordered the part because I called the local car dealer and they told me they have that same part in stock.

They tell so much lies, they start believing in their own lies. Another 2 days pass and I still haven't receive a call from them. When I call , they said the car is ready , so I went there to pickup the car. When I got there the molding was still missing , and the bumper was still lap sided. Then on top of that they charge me an extra $250 out of my pocket or else they would not release my car. I felt like I just got mugged .

They never pay for the extra 4 days for the rental although they promise they would do so, and now they charge me $250 cash or they would not release the car. Keep in mind that the car is still missing the molding and the bumper is still not straight.Desired Settlement: my car is still missing the rear molding ,so I need them to install the missing molding , straighten out the rear bumber and refund my $250

Review: On July *, 2012 I contacted 911 emergency service to report vandalism of my vehicle. Approximately 10 minutes later representatives from City Island Auto Body showed up at my gate with all the pertinent information I had just given to the 911 caller. I am still trying to figure out how they learned of the incident. They made their sales pitch and influenced me to use their service. I went over to their office in City Island and spoke with the manager. I subsequently sent in a claim to my insurance provider (Geico). The manager at City Island Auto insisted that I use a particular rental car company that I think he had some close relationship with. I trusted him and used that rental car company. Approximately 3 days later the insurance adjuster along with the shop did estimates and it was agreed that they would take 12 days or less to paint my car. After the due date had past I contacted them several times and I was told that my car would be finished by the july **, 2013. When that day came and past I contacted them again and was told my car would be finish 2 days later. That date also came and past and my car is still not yet done. To make matters worse I only have a $30 a day rental on my insurance coverage and the cheapest car at the rental company the City Island Auto Body manager recommended is $50 a day. So I am paying $20 a day out of pocket every day I have the rental car.Desired Settlement: I believe the auto body shop should compensate me for the extra days of rental fees that I have to pay.

Review: My car went into repair after an accident. My Insurance paid for the repair. The body shop called on April [redacted] 2014 and said they were delivering the car that evening. On the drive from the Bronx to Yonkers the transmission seized. They towed it to the dealership and the dealer said there was no transmission fluid in the transmission that's why it seized. The car had been under the Care, Custody and Control of the auto body shop since 1/**/14. It took 7 months for the repair. Insurance said the transmission was a result of no transmission fluid. Now the body shop (City Island Auto Body Inc) is charging me 5 tows, storage fees at $90.00 per day. The transmission which only cost $2,000 from KIA in Yonkers for a total of $7,000! They have my car hostage and plan on putting it up for auction in August. Can you help?Desired Settlement: My insurance covered 15,000 for the accident. The day I was informed they were delivering my car because all work was done the transmission seized while they were delivering the car to my home. They had the car towed to KIA of [redacted] and the service shop said, there was no pressure in the transmission lines and no fluid. They did not add transmission fluid to the transmission. Now they want to charge me 2,000 for the transmission plus 5,000 for storage fees at 90.00/day and 5 tows. The care was under the Care Custody and Control of City Island Auto Body Inc since 1/**/14. They destroyed the transmission by negligence on their part and I should not be responsible for any charges. Now they are putting my car up for auction if I do not pay them $7,000!
