Below I will address all of Mr ***'s Concerns by The salesman said we would work with him and we MIGHT even be able to pick it up A: This statement Mr [redacted] made says it all in my opinionLet's just say Mr [redacted] is correct in his statement of saying those things (although I believe differently)No where in there does it say we will take responsibility for getting his truck to usIt states, in his words I might add, We would work with himI waited months for him to get the vehicle to usI would say that's working with a customerNot to sure of any other dealership who would wait on a vehicle for that long without pressing chargesBottom line in his own words he understood that in the end it was his responsibility to get the truck to us, and in no way did we say we were going to pick it up for him if he couldn't get it here About the delayed contract A: We could sit and go back and forth on the length of time it took to get the contract but its irrelevant, just as the time it took to get his trade vehicle to us is irrelevantThe fact is I have the vehicle and he has his papersThis issue is dead in my opinion He states: "Yes I am sure that I did say some curse words to the lady in the office." Although most of this statement is an exaggeration, not to mention he conveniently left out the fact that he vulgarly cursed out a female employee, there is some merit in the statementThe fact that he was told we were having troubles getting the title issue worked outAlthough in his current complaint he says all we had to do was inform him we were having troubles with the titleWhich I believe we have now shown that he did know we were having troubles getting this taken care of I hope this helps clear up some thingsThank you

Mr *** *** did purchase a vehicle from us on November ***He did also trade in his *** *** *** which he informed us did not runBelow I will name his complaints and show you how each situation was handled so that you may have the full and true story of the dispute at hand
/>
Mr *** *** states that he told us that he may not be able to get his truck to our store.
A: We have a program at City Motors called "Push, Pull, Drag, or Tow it in"Basically we guarantee any and all of our customers no matter the current state or condition of their vehicle we will give them $for it towards the purchase of a pre-owned one from usIn our ads it states the only thing the customer must do to receive the $is to get the vehicle to us by any means necessaryWe also further express the fact that they are responsible to get it to us when they are here and when they sign upMr *** knew fully and completely that he was responsible to bring the vehicle he traded in back to us within the next few days, it just became difficult and he didn't want to mess with itHe already had his new car and didn't see why he needed to bring his vehicle inThis is when he came up with notion we were responsible to get itAgain what person trades in a vehicle and expects the dealership to retrieve it? Not to mention it plainly states in all of our ads, "Push, Pull, Drag or Tow it in" which states that as long as the customer does one of those things they qualify for the $minimum trade in for said trade
Mr *** *** states he has not received his contracts or his license and registration papers
A: Mr *** took a copy of his original papers with him the day he signed the contractNot to mention we mailed Mr*** a certified copy after this issue which has been signed for and receivedAlso after selling Mr *** an AS IS vehicle he had a bulb in his taillight burn outWhen this happened we offered to replace it for themThey then came in multiple times over the next few days checking on the bulb because we had to order itIf they were so worried about the contract why not ask then? The reason is because they already had it and were not mad about having to bring their truck in yet.
Mr *** *** states that he has not received his plates and registration
A: This statement was true at his time of filing the complaintBUT, it was of no fault of oursThe vehicle was purchased at a auction and somewhere between them and us it was lostWe ended up having to go through multiple steps to get a new title for the vehicleOnly to find by the time we collected all of the information we needed the auction had found the original titleI can provide proof and any documentation on any of these claims if neededIn the mean time yes we did make sure that Mr *** was taking care of and that the vehicle always had good paper plates on it to keep him legalIn no way were we or he breaking the law in any way. He does now have his plates which we (because of this incident) mailed to him certified as wellWe wanted no mix up in the fact of whether or not he got them
Mr*** *** states that he called in and was told a General Manager would call him back.
A: This statement is also true to an extentWhat Mr *** left out was the fact that he cursed out the woman finance manager who was so flustered and disturbed by the way she was spoken to that she said she would get someone to call himWe do not deal with profanity with anyone around here towards woman and not with any customers eitherHe also threatened to contact a lawyer, at that time we made no return callNow as a dealership we backed away and awaited to be contacted by Mr ***'s lawyerThe call never came through
Any statements made by City Motors can be backed up by documentationI am available for any questioning or anything else you may needThank you for hearing our side of the argument

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The salesman told me that they would work with me on a way to get the truck to them, he even said it MIGHT be possible for them to pick it up. The contract that I signed that day was blank and they told me where I needed to sign and initial the papersThe reason they gave for the blank contract was their computer was not workingYes, I took the truck back and they replaced a bulb in the rear tail light but it was out the day I purchased it and the vehicle had to be inspectedWhen my wife took the truck back to get the inspection done she did ask about the contract and was told the new computer they were waiting on still had not come in and that the contract would be sent as soon as the computer was received and up and workingThe contract was sent to me AFTER I contacted the Revdex.com and yes it was sent by certified mailThe license plates and tag were NOT sent by certified mail and came in over a week after the contract and by then the paper tag had been expired and the truck could not be driven. Yes, I am sure that I did say some curse words to the lady in the office, but by that time I was beyond frustrated with themIt doesn't excuse the behavior but all they had to do was INFORM me when they KNEW they were having trouble getting the title changed over
Regards,
*** ***

Below I will address all of Mr [redacted]'s Concerns 1 by 1.
1. The salesman said we would work with him and we MIGHT even be able to pick it up.
A: This statement Mr [redacted] made says it all in my opinion. Let's just say Mr [redacted] is correct in his statement of saying those things (although I believe differently). No where in there does it say we will take responsibility for getting his truck to us. It states, in his words I might add, We would work with him. I waited months for him to get the vehicle to us. I would say that's working with a customer. Not to sure of any other dealership who would wait on a vehicle for that long without pressing charges. Bottom line in his own words he understood that in the end it was his responsibility to get the truck to us, and in no way did we say we were going to pick it up for him if he couldn't get it here.
2. About the delayed contract.
A: We could sit and go back and forth on the length of time it took to get the contract but its irrelevant, just as the time it took to get his trade vehicle to us is irrelevant. The fact is I have the vehicle and he has his papers. This issue is dead in my opinion.
3. He states: "Yes I am sure that I did say some curse words to the lady in the office." Then he goes on to state if we would have just told him we were having trouble with title change over everything would have been fine.
A: The fact he cursed at the lady and used vulgar language while threatening us with a lawyer is why the he was not contacted back. But let's just reach back into our previous conversations. this is what Mr [redacted] stated in his last complaint...
"When I contacted them last Friday (January **, 2014) I continued to get the run around about when I would receive my papers until I told them I would contact a lawyer and the Revdex.com if they could not get the papers to me. It was then they said that they are having issues getting the title on the truck and that they do not even have the title to it."
Although most of this statement is an exaggeration, not to mention he conveniently left out the fact that he vulgarly cursed out a female employee, there is some merit in the statement. The fact that he was told we were having troubles getting the title issue worked out. Although in his current complaint he says all we had to do was inform him we were having troubles with the title. Which I believe we have now shown that he did know we were having troubles getting this taken care of.
I hope this helps clear up some things. Thank you

Review: Purchased a vehicle with ABS light on. Was told that the problem would be fixed. After taking the vehicle in once the problem arose again, took vehicle back and mechanic only cleared codes twice which in turn made the vehicle wheels lock up going down the road. Informed dealer and the mechanic decided it good to drive the vehicle while it was locking up. By clearing the codes and not fixing the problem all ABS sensors, and a 4 wheel drive module was blown, by driving the vehicle while it was locking up it blew a traction control module and a stirring module, also broke both of the front wheel bearings in the vehicle. Dealer took the car on 8/15/2016 told me it would be ready the following day, 8/16/2016 they told me the following day and so on and so forth, they refused to give me a rental car as well. On 8/19/2016 I contacted the garage because the dealer refused to tell me what was wrong with the car and they told me I would not have my vehicle until the following 8/22/2016. I contacted the dealer and they told me they would provide me with a rental the following day and would contact me when they opened in the morning. The dealer opens at 9 am and I had to call 3 times in the morning and finally at 11 am they answered and told me that I could pick up the rental. When arriving at the dealer the mechanic gave me a key to a vehicle, without signing any papers or telling me what the vehicle was, I got into the vehicle and it was extremely dirty, with no gas and still had items from the previous owner. I contacted the garage on 8/22/2016 and they informed me that the stirring sensor was blown as well and that the car would not be ready until 8/24/2016Desired Settlement: After review of what the dealer did to the vehicle I would like the price to be adjusted on what I owe on the vehicle. I do not wish to rip the company off but an adjustment needs arranged

Response:

l am writing in response to ID # [redacted]. City Motors Used Cars has proudly been selling usedcars and trucks since May of 1984. We do our best to service and detail our retail vehicles to thebest of our ability. We take pride in our work and giving the best customer service possible.Unfortunately issues arise in these used cars as with this particular customer. Our shop wasextremely busy at the time the customer contacted us, however, it was important that we give asquick service as possible. Therefore we subbed the work out to The [redacted]. Weexplained it was time sensitive so the owner made room on his schedule to get the repairs done.I am attaching a copy of the repair bill as well as the buyers guide signed by the customer. Thebuyers guide is the limited warranty offered by City Motors Used Cars stating what is coveredwithin the first 30 days or 1000 miles, whichever comes first. Engine, transmission and driveaxles are covered under this warranty. The warranty states the dealer will cover 50% of labor and50% of parts for the covered systems that fail during the warranty period. The remaining is theresponsibility of the customer. However, as a courtesy for his inconvenience, we did not and hadno plans on forwarding the balance to the customer. As far as the rental, for liability purposes,we do not offer such service. My sales manager was reprimanded for doing such, even thoughwe realize he was being sympathetic for the customer. It is with great sadness to have to respond to this complaint as all communications with thiscustomer has always been cordial and pleasant on both parts. As far as the communications withthe repair shop, I have been informed they concur. We did our best to satisfy the customer andfeel no adjustment in price is warranted.
