City Select Auto Sales Inc. Reviews (15)

Our customer purchased their vehicle on November 23rd, City Select Auto Sales promised to fix the illuminated check engine lightThe only code showing at that time was ***We offered to fix the vehicle immediately after delivery, but the customer said she lived one hour away and could not
afford the time without the vehicle We contacted the customer again to fix the vehicle on February 18th, 2014, and again she would not leave the vehicle off for repairs.
It is of importance to note, that the vehicle passed ** state Inspection on June 20th, If the check engine light was on, the vehicle would not pass inspection, meaning that the check engine light had to be off on June 20th, 2014.
On October 24th 2014, the vehicle was repossessed for delinquent paymentsThe customer requested that we make the repairs while the vehicle was impounded due to the repossessionOur company policy is to not touch in anyway a repossessed customer's vehicle due to the legal implications from having it in our possession during the repossession processIt is our experience that customer's will seize any opportunity to cloud our company's rights during the repossession process.
After we received the Revdex.com complaint, we contacted the customer again on June 3rd, We again offered to make the repairs that were promised at deliveryAgain, we were told that the customer cannot afford to drop off the vehicle and be without it for one day while we make the repairsOur offer to make the repairs to fix check engine light for code *** is still available

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I never refused to make a payment, and had no intentions of retrieving the vehicle without a full payment being madeMy payment was canceled by the sales manager Anthony, An attempt to make a payment of $was made the night of Monday June 6thThe remaining balance of $was offered in cash at the time that the release of the vehicle was refusedTough I appreciate the efforts of the owners son *** please understand all of the fact from all sides and not just those of your staff
I have purchased cars from this company as well other companies before, I am also an automotive sales person, and I have never heard of a company who refuses payment, or proof that cash is the only acceptable form of paymentMy feeling towards the car and the company still stand
I would have no issue with returning the vehicle in exchange for $which is by far less than what I have invested, or what its worth for that matter, and derogatory *** on my credit
Regards,
*** ***

I've heard really great things about city select as well as a couple employees there one with the name of Melissa.I am taking myself there to find a new car and hope my experience goes great like the other experiences of people who have went there!

I bought a [redacted] from City Select Auto Sales, about 6 hours after I go the car the car turned of on me on the high way. The car was a piece of crap. This company sells aweful cars, they are lemons and they try to scam you. The cars taxes are 2X the amnount they would be for a brand new car. DONT BUY A CAR FROM HERE.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Yes, all of the above was done for me with appreciation. The auto is terrible and unsafe to drive. My reason for purchasing it was because I often drive far away. I'm afraid for my safety as well as the passengers that I will be driving. I really would like to part from this as I see it being danger. I would like to stick to what I already stated the return of the truck to dealer with a return of 1200 dollars and no issues with my credit. Its a unsafe vehicle.
Regards,
Alvin Murray

City Select Auto Sales incorrectly reported [redacted]’s length of term to the credit bureaus.  On June 30th, 2016, [redacted] did an E-Oscar correction to fix the three credit bureaus.  When City Select...

Auto Sales reported again on the first of July and the first of August, the data reported incorrectly again.  City Select Auto Sales figured out the problem was on our side in the coding of the data we furnish.  We have since fixed the reporting problem and resubmitted an E-Oscar correction to fix [redacted]’s credit again.  [redacted] spoke with [redacted] on August 10th, 2016 and explained the issue.  [redacted] accepted this response and [redacted] asked him to check again in September to double check the problem has been fixed.

The customer purchased a vehicle from City Select Auto Sales on
12/17/2015. The vehicle came with a 1 year warranty on the motor, rear,
and transmission only. A copy of the warranty signed by...

the customer isavailable for review.
On 03/16/2016 the vehicle needed a repair to the fuel pump totaling
$481.60. A fuel pump is not covered by the warranty because it is not the motor, rear, or transmission. We did make the repair for the customer and because the customer could not afford the full bill, we lent the customer the more than half of the balance. Sixty days later the customer came back and paid the balance.
On 06/02/2016 the customers vehicle needed a $200 repair to the fuse box. A fuse box is not covered by the warranty because it is not the motor, rear, or transmission.  In addition, the customer's account was delinquent one month plus a portion of another month.
We attempted many solutions to solve the repair and the delinquency. The customer had to bring his account current. We offered to pay half of the $200 repair bill. We offered to loan him his portion of the $200 repair bill. We offered to do both at the same time. The bottom line is the customer wanted to recover his vehicle without paying his delinquency.
All of our offers still stand. The customer must pay the delinquent
payments in order to recover the vehicle.
Thank you,

To whom it may concern:
The customer picked up his vehicle on June 8th 2016 after paying his account current. Additionally, City Select Auto Sales paid half of his repair bill even though it was not a warrantied item, and still loaned the customer his entire cost for 30 days. We consider this matter closed as the customer currently is driving his vehicle and accepted the terms and signed the paperwork. The paperwork is available for review.

I've been with city select since last November always paid on time I ran into some problems like everyone does and I got behind a few payments literally a few I called them and made a agreement over the phone and the came and took my truck anyway this is bad business I don't advise anyone to ever get a car from this place.

I've heard really great things about city select as well as a couple employees there one with the name of Melissa.I am taking myself there to find a new car and hope my experience goes great like the other experiences of people who have went there!

Review: When I purchase my car from city select auto, the check engine light was on. The manager checked the light and agreed that the code would be taken care of by city select auto. My car was repossessed and I told them I would pay it off. I ask them to have the repairs done while the car was in there custody, because the location of the garage is too far for me to go, I was informed that no repairs could be made until my account was brought current. I paid the vehicle off and inquired about the repairs before I was to pick it up. I was told that there was no repairs needed, they told me to bring the contract up there, I then asked if they had a copy in there possession they said they did, I then asked him to reference it. He went on to say, well the car was purchase "X" amount of time ago and I had it inspected if a check engine light was on I would have failed. So I asked them clearly, "are you going to make the agreed upon repairs?" He said "bring me the contract and we will see what we can do."Desired Settlement: Also a apology would be nice

Our customer purchased their vehicle on November 23rd, 2013. City Select Auto Sales promised to fix the illuminated check engine light. The only code showing at that time was [redacted]. We offered to fix the vehicle immediately after delivery, but the customer said she lived one hour away and could not afford the time without the vehicle. We contacted the customer again to fix the vehicle on February 18th, 2014, and again she would not leave the vehicle off for repairs.

My fiance purchased a 2004 Ford explorer last night didn't even make it home before a ton a lights started flashing and we lost exceleration brought it in this morning and they sent us to get it fixed so we headed back home a little more than half way the same problems they claimed were fixed came back...he got his $500 back and we will NEVER use them again. And they tried to not give him his money back! We are appalled by this place ! Noone should go here !

This place is so unprofessional. The owner's son driving around in cars before they are parked in the lot for sale? Really? Everything is done half a**. Money hungry company ran by the owner's pill popping son. Place is a joke. Once I pay my car off I'm done with this place. Everything from repair to the payments is unorganized and messy. The people are messy. The owner's sons are messy. Just a disgusting business. I should have known just walking into the parking lot that it was all going to be downhill. Lesson learned. Don't be fooled. These people just want your money. They could care less about customer experience.

Review: I have made all payments except for what is due for July. City Select Auto repossessed my car today, 7-28-15. I printed all my bank statements and spoke with [redacted]. He told me in order to get my car back it would cost $1169.00. This included, he states 2 payments behind, and an additional deposit. I've had this car over 18 months with no problems with making payments. The car is almost paid off. I then spoke to [redacted] who tried to get it lowered to $830 which is still well above $340 due for July. [redacted], "the finance manager" will not take less than $1169. Since this is my only mode of transportation to and from work, and driving my children, I have no other alternative than to pay this. I am a single working mother who has documentation of every payment made ON TIME since I bought the car.

I consider this thievery and they stole my car.Desired Settlement: I want my account credited for $829.00
