City Signs LLC Reviews (2)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that even though not everything that was written by tattoo Oscurba was correct. I will only accept the resolution of a refund of my gift certificates satisfactory to me, they had over a month to try to work with me to get my tattoo perfect and they couldn't do that.  Although I am still out the money that I put down. I will be happy with my refund of the gift certificates.
Thank you,
[redacted]

[redacted] was a client of Rick's. She had gotten at least one tattoo by him and had plans of getting more with him, but their schedules never matched up and an appointment was never made. She had bought a gift certificate for $75, but they never specified with which artist they wanted the certificate...

for, so it was assumed anyone in the shop would be able to do it. It was signed by another artist who no longer works with us, but it was never specified it was only her she wanted to be tattooed by.  Her parents told her she should only get tattooed by this other artist and that's when she requested the money back for the gift certificate. Unlike what she said, she HAD been tattooed by Rick at our shop, not just this other artist and never voiced any complaint with him doing her work.  Gift certificates (like any establishment) are nonrefundable. We told her she could not have that money back.  She then attempted to set up another appointment via our shop facebook page. We told her to come in to schedule (since we take a $20 deposit).  She scheduled with Jenn and ultimately canceled her appointment, because she had wanted a drawing sooner than the day of her appointment. But without telling Jenn this, Jenn had no idea she wanted a drawing sooner than the day of. Since we are a busy shop, most drawings are done in order of priority unless a client specifically requests a drawing sooner.  [redacted] then decided to schedule something with Kimber. [redacted] worked with her on getting her tattoo drawn and made whatever changes she wanted accordingly.  Part of our job is to draw what the client wants without knowing them and their tastes while still creating a design that is technically tattooable and also a well-planned, well-designed tattoo.  We take pride in the work we do, and wouldn't want to tattoo something that ultimately would turn out bad because of bad design choices.  Several aspects of the tattoo [redacted] requested were trickier than usual to bridge that gap between what the artist is able to tattoo and what she wants.  Sometimes it's a process because ultimately we want the customer, as well as our artists, happy with the work. I feel that our shop only is at fault in the lack of communication in explaining the process involved and how long designs can sometimes take.  Creativity can't always be forced and in the realm of tattoos and permanency it's better that it isn't.  I feel bad she feels she was singled out, and I feel like that was a fault of not communicating properly.  With that, she never asked to speak with either me or Rick (the shop owners) to express her complaints and I feel if she had we could have come to some sort of resolution or tattoo she would've been happy with.  I will gladly refund her the money if she feels that that's what it takes to rectify the situation. With that, we would also be happy to try to work with her more to design a tattoo she can be happy with.
