I would like to give Sam a positive rating I have been using Sam at City Wide Appliance Service for quite a few years Sam has always been prompt in servicing my needs He has installed a dishwasher for me, serviced my dryer just to name a few His prices for his service have always been reasonable and I always felt that I got a good value for the price I know that recently Sam has been going though some health challenges and has had other people filling in for him If his poor service rating is recent, it may be because he has not been able to personally service his customer I would recommend Sam to someone needing appliance service Barry S

Around Thanksgiving 2015, we asked Sam to fix a dryer and a metal oven door cover that had come offSam and his brother cameThey charged us what we subsequently learned was an exorbitant figure to replace the drive belt and felt seal on our dryer, and then to put brackets in place to secure the oven door coverA few months later, the oven door cover fell off (hurting me) and I discovered that the brackets installed were cheap plastic that even I, as a layman, knew could not possibly carry that weightI contacted SamTrying to contact him in itself was difficult and took weeks, since either the phone was left to ring or the message mailbox was always fullWhen I finally got through I was met with apologies and an appointment was made to do a proper repairSam never showed upI repeated this process three times, each time having to make arrangements to be home during the time period givenNeither Sam nor anyone else from his business ever showed up or offered a refund

My experience happened over a year ago I was very dissatisfied with the service I had a washer problem After filling the washer with water, he tilted the washer and water was all over the floor Then it went down a drain, through the light on the ceiling, and flooded the bedroom in the basement He claimed it wasn't possible and refused to even go downstairs and look at it He charged me $which I reluctantly paid because I was too upset to know that I might have had other options Really odd thing was that I had used his services beforeNever again!!!

I was having a problem with my water dispenser on my refrigerator
It took calls to even get a call back I scheduled an appointment, thinking it would be *** coming out Instead, another man came who couldn't even figure out how to open the ice-maker/water I sent him away and rescheduled for ***
When *** came, I had already printed out the parts diagram for the ice-maker/water dispenser He quickly opened it and called his supplier and verified that the part was available He asked me for a $deposit for the part and said he would order it the next day I asked if a loose wire could be the problem, but he said he doesn't fix wires, just does replacement parts
Thant evening my son soldered the wire and the problem was fixed I called *** the next morning and caught him *before* he ordered the part He said he would keep $and send me $back Despite numerous calls, he never sent it, even though he said he did Last call he hung up

In early March , Sam, the owner of City Wide Appliance came to my home to fix my washing machineThe gear had broke and there was also a loud banging sound from the bottom of the machine
I was a repeat customer from a few years prior because I was very satisfied with his work and his price I was under the impression that he was dependableUnfortunately, this experience in has left me very frustratedHe repaired the gear, charged me $which I paid him on the spot and then within a few days The banging resumedI called him and he said he would come back and fix it as he lived near meHe has not returned to my home nor has he returned my phone calls I even went so far as to send him a text message telling him that I would report him to small claims if he did not return my phone call and repair the machineThis was a huge sum of money and he did not finish the job
I am very disappointed and would like some resolution

On August 8, Sam came out to do an estimate on my *** washerHe said it was the control board and it would be $to repair He wanted a $depositHe was not set up to take credit cardsI gave him a checkThe receipt had the Revdex.com logo which I now know is advertising
He said he would call the next day That is even on the receiptIt is now three weeks later and I have not had the washer repair I have repeatedly called and texted but there has been no attempt from this company to resolve the situation
I would like my $returnedWith a credit card at least I could have had my deposit returned
I understand Sam has had some personal problems but how hard is it to answer the phone?
I don't want them to complete the repairAt this point, I just want the deposit returned so I can continue with another company for the washer repair

I called the Manufacturer of my dishwasher, the parts are no longer available due to the age of my dishwasherThey gave me the name of a local authorized dealer who confirmed the parts are longer available This man is a con-artist and complete scamBEWARE! Do not do business with himHe will take your money and never come backHis website is completely false, saying he takes credit cards and gives military discountsWe are retired military and did not get any discountHis business is a fraud!

City Wide appliance Service Co. owner Sam [redacted]'s brother, Bob [redacted], came to my door to repair on my clothes dryer. He seemed unsure of what he was doing so I asked where Sam was and told him we had liked the work Sam did for us a year or so ago. He said Sam was down with his back problems. He gave me an estimate of $200. to fix dryer and replace filter in refrigerator, but needed money to buy parts. He wanted check made out to Sam, I made it out to City Wide Appliance Service Co. instead. The next day Bob & Sam came back to my house. Sam said because things were kind of tight right now, he needed the whole $200 to buy parts and pay employees and to make check out to Bob. I didn't think too much of it because I was satisfied with the work Sam had done before. He told me he would be back Thursday, but he never showed up. I tried calling him with no answer. Left message, but no return call. Then I checked Revdex.com to find he had done the same thing to many other people.

Sam charged me $349.70 for repair on my [redacted] refrigerator that he never done. Cashed my check on August 2nd and had appointment to install the $50 part on August 5 th, Sam never showed up. I called his business dozens of times, he never returned my calls. When his brother answered phone few times and gave the phone to Sam, Sam hung up on me. I have to run the portable fan behind my fridge in order to keep the compressor cool so it will work .

On September 19th, Sam and his brother came to repair a refrigerator and took a check for the parts. He said he would get the parts in three days and return to install them. I never heard from him. His phone has been disconnected. I am out the money and I cannot contact him. Since this is a rental I manage for a friend and the tenant is patiently waiting, I have contacted another company to do the work.

I had City Wide change a heating element in my dryer. Two weeks later, I had no heat. They came out and said the timer was bad and asked for a check. I had worked with them so I gave them another check in the amount of $188.60. It was cashed the next day but they did not come out. They did not answer my calls to them and then the phone was out of service. I have not heard from them since. I have since had my dryer repaired by another company. It was only a fuse, not a timer. Much cheaper.

I have used City Wide on two different occasions. Once my washer stopped working and the second was today when my refrigerator burned out.., I called several appliance repair places in town only to be told they did not work on the brand I have. City Wide on the other hand said they did work on this brand. I thought they might not be able to get to it for a couple days but I made an appointment and they were at my house within 5 hours. They fixed the problem, explaining every step that was done. He was knowledgeable and efficient and very reasonable. His work saved us from having to purchase a new refrigerator. When I consider the four other repair places I called who wouldn't even come and look at it I'm thankful that City Wide was willing and easily fixed the issue...
