I am the owner of CJ Car Wash.  I am well aware of the this incident.  It was our understanding that the issue was resolved to a mutual understanding, I am surprised to find this complaint on Revdex.com.
Customer informed the staff that the faceplate of the DVD player was...

missing after the wash, and was adamant that it was there before.
Close inspection of the vehicle was made, but we were unable to locate the missing item.  There was additional articles in the car and the poor lighting made it difficult to closely inspect the vehicle to see if the item could be located.  Each employee that came in contact with the vehicle were interviewed alongside the customer and no one could recall seeing the faceplate.
Faceplate on DVD players are made detachable to deter thieves from breaking into car to steal the DVD Player.  The faceplate itself has no value and not an item highly sought out by thieves.  Our team members are professional and above reproach when it comes to their integrity and honesty.  Oftentimes they will bring money that they find in the car to the customer to prevent any loss.  The customer believed that one of them have taken the device, which considering the circumstances, were not credible.
The day after the incident, I reviewed the surveillance video with my manager Jong Ham and both of us came to the conclusion that there is no suspicious activity taking place the duration the customer's vehicle is in our care.  If the faceplate became dislodged while in our care, it would likely be still in the vehicle.
The manager, Jong H**, went beyond the call of duty to help the customer in trying to locate the device, even going through the garbage cans to search for the item in case it was mistaken for trash.  He stayed behind on his own time after the store closed, in the dark for an hour so that the customer does not have to wait for the police he called to file a report.  Jong called the customer the day later to inform him the results of the surveillance video review and to inform him that we were pretty confident that the faceplate was not removed from the vehicle by our staff.  He did apologize for the inconvenience and offered a free car wash to the customer.
In an incident like this, we try to do our best to help the customer.  But without having visually verified that the faceplate was on and secure prior to the car wash, it is impossible for us to determine what has happened.  The odds are great that the faceplate is still in the vehicle, perhaps wedged between the seat and numerous other devices and articles in the vehicle.  I would advise the customer to do a more thorough search during daylight.
Unfortunately our policy does not hold CJ Car Wash liable for missing valuable items.  I am attaching a disclaimer and the policy for your review.  It is personally handed to every customer.  It states clearly that we are not responsible for "Lost, stolen or misplaced articles", "loose items falling out of cars" as well as instruct customers to secure all valuables.  That being said that we take it as our mission to make sure that customer has every confidence and should expect anything left in the vehicle will still be there upon after the wash, which is why this incident was a cause for great concerns for us.  But in this case, we strongly believe that CJ Car Wash is not at fault and no further remedy can be made.  Again, Jong H** offered a free car wash for the inconvenience incurred.  I do hope that the customer sees our point of view.
Sincerely,
Ki Y[redacted]
