Review: [redacted], the owner of this business, was late by one hour twice, and failed to show up for his job on the day he said he would do the job. When I addressed his no show, he said, "It's not my fault." Apparently, he expected me to call him the day before, or he felt justified in not showing up, and putting the blame on me. When I told him that I no longer wanted him to do the job of building the fence around my garden, he insisted that I allow him to do so. When I gave in, he came to the appointment an hour late, and was inappropriate. First he tried to sugar coat things with flattery, by telling me that I "looked pretty." Then he addressed me in a condescending manner, ending his sentences, with "Capish?" as if I was rded or something. Being a physician, I did not like being addressed like I was rded, and I told him that I did not like him talking to me like that and to stop using the word, "Capish" with me. Later he starts lecturing me about how I should address him with more respect, because he "was richer than me" and that he was a "grown man" who "doesn't need my money." When I told him that his pointing his finger at me and lecturing me about being respectful to him was being condescending and that he should not be treating women as if they are stupid, and that I no longer wanted him to work on my project. He told me that I didn't know how to talk to "people" with the respect that they deserved. He then yelled in the middle of the parking lot that I was a "crazy woman." He lied about having "all the supplies" needed for the project, and ended up having me pay for a shovel and a hole digger, which he has kept. Later, when I wrote a check for the cost of materials, he complained,saying " I told you not to put 'materials for project' on it!" I believe he thinks he can avoid the IRS and taxes by having me write the check a different way. I would never wish to have him work on anything in my house again, and would like others to know about him beforehand.Desired Settlement: [redacted] actually expects me to pay him for the work that he has half-finished in my back yard. The fence is about 1/4 done, and of course, I don't want him back. I also feel that I should not have to pay him for half-finished work, which he had insisted on doing, when I told him that I did not want him to do it. That he thought that he could treat me with incredible rudeness and then expect me to pay him for the work is ridiculous.

This particular business has tried to resolve this issue with me by not charging for their services and returning, in part, the refund, which they obtained through returning unused materials. They would still not be a company that I would recommend to others.
