Review: We bought a "complete set" of bedroom furniture on 6-19-09 from Meiselwitz Furniture. When delivered one of the two nightstands was damaged and taken back to the store on the delivery truck. We never heard anything from the store about the damaged nightstand. When I called about 2 months later to inquire about the missing nightstand they said the delivery guys never told them it was damaged but they would find us one to replace it. (How could they not know there was a damaged piece in their store sitting there?) Months and months went by and we heard nothing. I called SOOOO many times and was told "[redacted] will call you this afternoon". I'd sit and sit waiting for his calls, and he never called us back once. They said they called around and found us one but we never got it. More than a year ago they said they found one that was similar and they'd call when it was in and we could bring in a drawer and compare the two, but no one ever called. I always had to initiate each call. We bought the set only because we could get a 2nd nightstand. We didn't want a bedroom set for our guest bedroom with only one. That was very important to us. The bedroom set hasn't been used much. No solution has even been offered. We paid for something we never received over 3 years ago and are frustrated and want this problem resolved.Desired Settlement: Refund our $2749 and pick up the incomplete bedroom set we bought.

Review: I ordered my reclining couch in August of 2012. We were told it would take up to 3 weeks to get it in and to my house. After the 3 weeks I called them and asked what the status was on my very expensive couch was and did not get any thing but excuses as to why I did not have it yet. I had to keep calling them to see what was going on, they never called me to let me know what was going on. I felt if I did not call they certainly would not call me. Every time I would call they would say we will let you know by a certain time and they would never call me, resulting in my worry and calling them. They would ask me every single time what my phone number was, even though I know I gave it to them when purchasing my couches. It was mid November until I got it. When we finally got it, the reclining mechanism on one side did not work right, it sinks lower than the rest of the couch. So I called [redacted] and they said they would come look at it, however I got the same run around I got when I first got it, with me having to call constantly to get them to come look at it so it could get fixed. I was constantly told I would get called back and was asked for my number every time I called. All I wanted was for them to come fix my couch. They did not do anything until we threatened to file a complaint with Revdex.com, then that's when they finally took my couch to fix and it took almost two weeks. Again I was not informed on when I would get it back or what was going on with it. So again I was calling. When I finally got it back, we had the exact same problem we had with it before they took it. It seemed like they just stuffed it with more batting. We were so frustrated we just did not want to deal with them again to come fix it that we just left it. We recently moved and realized after moving it, that because the couches reclining is not working right, had left a black stain in the carpet. Not wanting to have the same problem at our house I called again to have it fixed in the beginning of march. Mike, one of the owners, came to look at it and told me he has parts for the couch and would be fixing it in my home, he did not say when someone would be over to fix it. I called yesterday (3/31 Monday evening) and was told I would get a call back that evening yet and did not receive a call. My fiance went in today (Tuesday evening) to talk with one of the owners Mike and he told my fiance that he had spoke with me this morning. Which did NOT happen. Now supposedly someone will be over to take it next Wednesday. I am so sick of this run around and just want a couch that is worth what I paid.Desired Settlement: I would like a couch that is worth the money I paid. Meaning all the functions work properly.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

But in conclusion the couch is fixed so hopefully we will not have to deal with them ever again.

Wanted to get carpet for our livingroom, stairs, & hallway, due to a complete remodel of our 1st floor.

We placed our order for a Shaw carpet on July 23rd, 2013 & applied 1/2 of the amount due as a down payment. I was advised it'd take 4-6 weeks (thought it was odd that it'd take so long, as other companies advised it would take 7-10 business days to receive the order. We wanted to "Shop local," so we decided to stay with them. Our check was cashed on July 31st. We were advised that carpet would arrive Aug. 7...didn't 'offer' to install until August 26th. The afternoon of Aug. 25th we received a phone call, advising the carpet was defective & they'd need to reorder. It would be installed later that week (Wednesday or Thursday...thought it was odd that it took 4-6 weeks to order originally, now they could get it in 2 days???) So, I called Tuesday afternoon to confirm the time they'd be arriving later that week - I was told "waiting for the installers to give a callback to schedule the install" No callback from [redacted] @ CJ Meiselwitz. Following week, I again would call to follow up - I was advised it be installed Wednesday or Thursday, he was getting in touch with the installers - once again. No callback, ever! I was told COUNTLESS time that they'd callback later that same afternoon or the following morning, and it'd be installed or Wednesday or Thursday. NEVER received 1 call from them. No callbacks & always seemed to be "waiting for the installers" to return their call. Why work with those installers, if it takes them 4 weeks to call you back????

Friday, Sept 6 - we contacted them in the am to follow up on the status of our carpet...they'd call us back within 1/2 hour, after tracking it. AGAIN - no callback! We called them 2 1/2 hours later. It was in Chicago. Never received a phone call telling us it was 'in.' We (once again) called them on Monday, the 16th...was told it'd be delivered tomorrow. Although we had heard that MANY time before, I had hoped this was it. No call from them, so afternoon (the 17th) I called them to follow up on deliver of our carpet. I was told "It's a bad day. The carpet hasn't arrived. It'd probably be best that we just come get our money, as they aren't able to us" REALLY....after waiting 8 weeks for carpet, they tell us that now. They could have ordered our carpet 3x, if not 4x if they really wanted to 'service' us, as all other companies could receive it 7-10 business days.

We've advised them that we were not living at home, due to a complete remodel & was waiting on the carpet to move back into our home. We weren't moving back in while waiting for the carpet, as they had requested. Living in drywall & construction dust - no thanks! Assuming this carpet could have came & been installed in about 14 days, they cost a full month of extra rent AND utilities!!! Then, they tell us they can't help us - after wasting that much of our time & money, I need to start over! WOULDN'T recommend them to ANYONE!
