Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: CJ Restorations has used the similarity of their name to CJ R*** to their advantageWhen I forst made contact with their Sales Rep Buck, I said I would work with their company since they, as CJ R*** had done a
great job on my roof in the pastBuck did not clarify that his company was a different companyWhen I first spoke to casey, I told him I had doubts about working with his company but since my parents had recently used CJ R*** I would give his company a 2nd chanceCasey did not clarify that his company was separate and distinct from CJ R***He only made this distinction when I brought up the invoice from from CJ R*** that covered shingle removal that Casey and his company were also billing for in 2017.In Casey's response to my initial complaint, he said that some other company had attempted to include purported damage to my fence on the insurance claim, and that he has not had direct contact with the Claims Adjuster BrittanyBrittany herself called me after the attempt to add the fence to the claim and she said she had spoken to CaseyCJ Restoration has listed ** *** as their paint contractor on this claim; when I called them after the attempt to include the fence on the claim, they had no knowledge of me, my address, claim, or that they were supposedly engaged to do the work.In retrospect, had I known that CJ Restoration was not CJ R***, I would have never engaged their servicesWhen I spoke with their employees at the start of the process and referred to their company as CJ R***, they missed an opportunity to clarify that they were not CJ R***These things are in the past and cannot be undoneRest assured that I will be more diligent in the future.Moving forward, there are a few issues to be resolved:Sales Rep Liz promised that bundles of leftover shingles would be returned to meIn my original Revdex.com complaint, I asked for either the shingles, or an assurance that I be given detailed information on the type/SKU of shingles and that my insurance not be charged for the excess materialsCasey has offered to give me a bundle of shinglesI appreciate the offer but it would be unfair for me to take something not paid forBrittany/*** has reviewed CJ Restoration's claim - it does not cover shingles beyond what were used for the jobI'd simply like specific information on the shingles so, should I need more in the future, I can purchase the same type of shingles.I was billed for layers of shingle tearout and removal both in by CJ R*** and in by CJ RestorationToday a Denver permit inspector came by and failed my roof inspection (a few minor things - outside of the scope of this complaint - things I am certain CR Restoration will remedy)In 2015, I received no notice of inspection failureI will research Denver building codes from to see if shake shingles and adding a 3rd layer of asphalt were permitted; if they were, I shall vigorously address this issue with CJ R***If this was not allowed in (and since that half of the roof did pass inspection in 2015), I'll continue the discussion with CJ Restoration. As far as the painting yet to be done on my house, in my intital meeting with Casey he said their company goes top to bottom - roof, gutters, then paintThe final straw that triggered this complaint was the painting - Casey said the painters would come out for the beginning of the week of August 14thI'll grant that rain was then forecast for two evenings that week and, since paint needs hours to dry enough to resist water, this may have been erring on the side of extreme caution by CJ RestorationI'm still puzzled by the phone call I made direct to the painters the afternoon of August 15th - where the owner denied any knowledge of me, my address or the job that supposedly they had been engaged to do that weekThe owner of ** *** was vehement in that he would never take a job without meeting with the home owner first in personThis one may have to go into the unsolved mysteries file.I did send an email to RJ Restoration on August 18th telling them their painters were not welcome the following week - family in townCasey did reply promptly and asked me what day would be good - an email to which I never repliedBecause I have not replied, this has caused the painting to not have started, and I am responsible for this delayAfter the attempt to include a non-hail damaged fence in the insurance claim - work that was depreciated to zero, meaning I would have been responsible for the $600+ cost, I'm leery of having unsupervised painters around. Here's what I ask of CJ Restoration: Resolve the minor roof issues that caused the inspection to fail - I believe it is a damaged vent and some flashing.Give me specific details on the shingles used so I may purchase the same type in the future if needed. The gutter installed on the front of my house - north side of the porch - it wasn't firmly attached to the downspout and leaks mightily (I have pics of leakage but, to be fair, this is the first time I've notified you).On July 30th, I made an offer to make a good faith payment for work done since roofing work was essentially completedI never heard backThe offer still standsLet me know if you want another $towards the work that has been done.Casey, on August the 4th you and I talked about putting a price on the work I've done vs my deductibleYou said you'd look at the numbers and get back to meThis never happenedI'm using the numbers from the insurance claim report - the only porch work $ numbers provided, the last update on screen costs, the last interior drywall cost from ***, and gallons of custom matched exterior housepaint for your painters at contractor prices of $30/gal, rather that retail price of $55/gal. I need to see your final figure. What I will do:The roofers drove one nail too deep, causing a 3-inch circle of outward buckling in the attic ceilingI can and will repair this.I will follow up on the tearoff layers - building code issue and keep CJ Restorations informed of my research on the building code/ inspection approval.I will make a good faith payment of $for work completed thus far if CJ Restoration asks.I will begin the dialogue with CJ Restoration to arrange for the paint work to be done on a schedule that works for both sidesI will make sure that the gallons of custom colored paint are readily available when necessary, as well as provide the painters with the custom formula used on the front trim
Sincerely,

Mr. [redacted], all four residents, therefore all four members of the H.O.A. signed contracts approving CJ Restoration to get all 4 separate insurance companies on board with the scope of damage and for CJ Restoration to do the work.  Unanimously, all 4 residents and members of the H.O.A....

signed contracts with CJ Restoration. There is a termination clause in the agreements that all members of the H.O.A. have signed.  Please refer to the termination portion of the contracts.  CJ Restoration has performed above and beyond thus far to date.  CJ Restoration has invested a considerable amount of time and effort on each claim.  That is why we always have a contract and commitment from our customers before we start to work with the insurance companies in the resolution of the claim.  It is quite an undertaking to represent 4 units, with 4 different insurance companies and to get them all on the same page.  We take pride in the quality of work that we do for our clients.  We’ve invest a tremendous amount of time with the initial field adjustment, the secondary field adjustments, our in-house estimating and further correspondence with the insurance desk adjusters and so on.  We have increased all the scopes of loss and have the insurance companies committed to much more than the original scopes of loss.  [redacted] the beginning scope started at $12,014.76.  Through CJ Restoration efforts increased the scope to a total of $21,239.45.  This is an increase of better than 56%.  [redacted] the beginning scope started at $11,919.20. Through CJ Restoration efforts increased the scope to a total of $18,169.66.  This is an increase of better than 65%. [redacted] the beginning scope started at $12,831.48. Through CJ Restoration efforts increased the scope to a total of $19,835.77.  This is an increase of better than 64%. [redacted] the beginning scope started at $19, 812.77. The insurance field Adjuster [redacted], out of all the adjusters did a complete adjustment that was fair.  CJ Restoration has worked with Mr. [redacted] in the past on large commercial stucco projects.  Adj [redacted] is well versed and experienced with stucco and would only approve $5,291.57 for the stucco work. Each and every line within the agreed to insurance scope of work has been negotiated and agreed upon by the insurance company. CJ Restoration has done everything we said we would do and expects that all parties honor their respective agreements and would like to get this project moving ahead.  We’ve worked hard and diligently to enforce the rights of the homeowners and will also do whatever is necessary to protect the rights of CJ Restoration.  We'd like for us all come together with a good spirt of resolve, honoring one another’s positions and get the restoration process started for you and the other three homeowners.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/11/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes, we are a client of CJ Restoration. If they were to...

look at their records they would see [redacted] is my last name.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/12/08) */
