CKS Fence & Construction

I felt compelled to write this review of CKS Fence & Construction based on my poor experience with the company and its owner Raul. There are not that many reviews of CKS Fence & Construction that are out there, so I am writing this review to give everyone who may deal with this company a 'heads up' based on my experience, which may or may not be unique.

I first contacted CKS Fence & construction April 17, 2019 for a privacy fence. In my original message I advised that I had materials that I wanted to order, and so Raul promptly came out to my home and gave me a quote, and also explained that he was 5-6 weeks out from a timeline standpoint. He also told me around this time to get my own permit.

Eventually though, I was put off, and put off some more. I tried to stay patient, but eventually Raul told me that he would be able to do the fence around the second week of July. All the while, we were waiting on another company to place a concrete slab in my back yard, and Raul recommended putting up my fence after that. This time, he said he would be able to get my fence up the second week of July.

After the concrete guy fell through, Raul moved the date out even further to the second week of August, since as he claims, I never put 10 percent down. I offered to, in order to "save my spot" but he didn't seem entirely interested in picking up the down payment. The second week of August was pushed back by a week, and Raul rudely explained to me that it wasn't his fault, but rather it was the fault of the supplier, which I accepted.

Fast forward to the big day, August 19th, and Raul shows up to my home with another worker; we get to discussing various location points for the fence, setting up final boundaries, etc. Finally, Raul asks about a permit ð??³ I told him I totally forgot about it (he told me at least 3 months ago). At this point Raul starts fussing and complaining, and blaming me (literally) about me not obtaining the permit, despite the fact that he is supposed to be the professional. He obviously forgot about the permit too, as he could have reminded me a week in advance. He's the one that deals with this sort of thing all of the time, I think? Not me.

So, Raul told me to go get the permit, and I did very quickly. Raul also recommended that I call the city to see if I could at least place the posts, which I did, but the city told me I couldn't do anything without a permit. Raul still wanted to do the work since he was already there, and didn't want to waste a day, but he also thought the city might drive by and could possibly fine me and him, so I suggested he quit for the day.

Raul wanted to charge me for the day(s) that he missed work, so I ultimately decided to cut my ties with him. Now I have a pallet filled with concrete bags and fence material sitting in my driveway, and still no privacy fence 4 months later. In my opinion, Raul with CKS Fence & Construction is rude, condescending, and severely lacking in professionalism and tact. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
