I called Clack on the phone to ask if they could check my air conditioner in my 1992 Lexus. I was told yes and to bring it in. I entered store at 1:45 pm on Thursday 20 Aug 2015.I was asked info about my car and explained light was blinking on my air conditioner switch and according to my [redacted] it was probably to do with the compressor. I was told to have a seat and tech. would check it out. I was given no estimate or told of any cost. Three minutes later the tech. came in and said it was the compressor slipping. I inquired as to the cost to fix and I was told approx. $1,200. He then told me the cost today was $68.00 cash. I asked for what. He said to diagnosis the problem. I payed and left. I was never given an estimate nor did I sign anything stating an estimate. I called him on the phone and asked him to explain charges. Labor was 64.23, supplies were 3.53 (mind you nothing was put in my car, he said it was general shop cost)and tax was .24.I explained I thought it was unfair. He proceeded to hang up on me. This is very poor customer service. No one deserves to be treated this way. Respect would of been nice.Product_Or_Service: estimateOrder_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI feel I am owed a refund. I don't mind paying for services but none were rendered. I was not given an estimate or told of any charges. Service time was all of 3 minutes. More than anything respect would of been nice.Business Response [redacted] was informed that there was a $68.00 labor charge for inspection of her ac, and she acknowledged that she saw our diagnostic fee charges posted on the menu board on the wall. When she arrived she informed us that she had to wait because she was from out of town. I had a technician stop working on another vehicle and pull her car in right away. When checking auto air conditioning the first thing you do is attach an ac diagnostic machine to read system pressures to establish its state of charge, after doing so the technician determined that after running for awhile the compressor started binding internally causing the clutch to slip , requiring ac compressor replacement, We explained to the customer that when the ac compressor fails ,the accumulator has to be replaced and the system would have to be flushed , she said that she dad limited funds and asked for a rough guess on repair costs, I told her aprox $1,000 to $1,200, she said that exceeded the value of the car. She did not request a more precise written estimate on repairs. Diagnostic time was not 3 minutes, the repair order was written at 1:48 and was finalized at 2:35 , The was not treated badly at all, she left and called back to have me repeat the technicians diagnosis and questioned weather it was correct. I didn't hang up on her until she started cursing, I don't know why she turned sour so suddenly, Ithought she was treated nicely

Took my pickup in because it would not start unless sprayed with some form of starter fluid. This issue was never addressed. I was billed $223 and the problem still exists. When I confronted the manager there was no offer to fix the issue and to actually work on the problem. Instead they fixed a harness, they said was needing to be replaced. I want my money refunded and I want a written apology for not doing the work they were authorized to do. For not fixing the problem and say they had. I believe this garage is dishonest and did not actually change any parts on my truck but charged me for work they did not preform. I was not shown they parts they removed or told why they did not do the work I asked them to do.Sincely,[redacted]Product_Or_Service: Truck starting problemDesired SettlementRefund work they said they performed. But did not show or provided me with the old parts.I want a written apology for not doing the work they authorized to do. For not fixing the problem and forcing me to have to take my truck to another garage to have it repaired.Business Response We are truly sorry to hear that our repairs did not solve the complaint sufficiently . We were confronted with is what a repair shop considers a nightmare scenario. The customer had replaced the engine himself in an attempt to save money. What we found was a mass of broken, twisted together, bare wiring, and disconnected harnesses , It was obvious that there was going to be multiple issues. Our technician was able to determine that fuel pressure and ignition spark was normal, but injector pulse was intermittent and weak .He traced the wiring and determined that the wiring in that circuit was in fact part of the broken wiring twisted together and barely making contact. The customer complaint was that the vehicle was only hard to start 1st thing in the morning, when cold, It would start just fine the rest of the day. After performing the wiring repair we found the engine would start nicely all day and advised the customer that we would like to try again the next morning to verify the problem had been solved. The customer informed us he had replaced multiple parts in an effort to address this problem , fuel pump, ecm , numerous sensors etc. could not afford any further expense and would pick up the vehicle and take it to his mechanic in Montana if problem still exsited . There were no parts to return to the customer because we did not replace any parts . We just performed testing and repaired wiring , and spent over 2 hours doing so, We did not perform any services that the customer did not need. And we think any other repair shop would have had to do the same thing, [redacted], the technician who worked on the vehicle in an [redacted] certified master technician and is not "dishonest" .In order to improve customer relations, we would be willing to refund half of the customers expense, $112.00Consumer Response Please see document online.Final Business Response When the vehicle was brought in on 12/18 the battery was low and weak , we presumed it was due to extensive cranking by the customer. the battery did not look very old so we recharged it. . This was necessary in order to properly test the fuel and ignition systems, after recharging we tested the battery and starting ,charging systems and battery was restored to full capacity, We use a tester similar to the one [redacted] used to test the battery. but their technician used the wrong cca setting on the tester, see customer printout, the 24f60 battery has a 525 cold cranking amp rating, not 655. If set to the proper cca parameter the battery would have passed. The recommendation at the bottom of the slip would have stated "good battery, recharge and retest" our service charge for 122.79 was not just for checking the battery, but also for checking the fuel and ignition systems. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)no I do not except what they are saying. but I feel as to drop the case cause nothing will be done. we are just sending letters back and forth, and that is all that is going to be done. as a tax payer I feel this office is a waste of are tax dollar and my time so please drop the case and you wont hear from me again. thank you for your time.
