Clairmont at Brier Creek Reviews (5)

I contacted Clairmont about a garage I rented on 6/8/2014; the space term end date was on 4/30/15. However I went into the leasing office to request a cancellation of my storage on 9/19/14. I was not asked to sign anything, nor is there a date as to when I put the request in anywhere on the rental agreement. On 9/24/14 I called the leasing office to cancel the cancellation request that I had verbally given on 9/19/14, with leasing agent [redacted]. I was told by site manager [redacted] on 9/24 that my garage had already been rented out. I requested a copy of the garage rental agreement that I had signed on 6/8/14. Again, No where on the agreement does it have the date and signature when I requested to cancel the garage. I called the Management Company [redacted], where I was told by the representative that she did not know the process of how the garage was handled and operated; needless to say she put me in contact with the regional director. I spoke with Regional director [redacted], She told me that the document I signed originally on 6/8/14 was called a "addendum and that they did not need my signature on the form when I put in request to cancel. I let her know that no where on the "addendum" does it say that if a tenant puts a request in VERBALLY does it say that I can't retain the garage if I chose to cancel. On the "addendum" it says that my garage termination will take effect on 10/3/14. When the regional director gave me a call she did not give me a better option to resolve the matter, her only offer to help was to place me on the waiting list until another garage came available. Ms.[redacted] was very rude and her tone had changed since the beginning of the conversation. She told me she would give me a call back this week after her vacation on 9/25/14. This is one of three incidents that have happened to me since I have been living here. And out of the last two incidents, not one person from management offered assist of follow up on any incidents.Desired SettlementI would like to have my garage agreement remain the way that it is until my lease is up on 4/30/15. I have been very patient with the complex with the issues that Ive had in the past. The other issues involved my electricity shutting off due to malfunctions with the propertys equipment causing me to lose time from work and money that I paid in groceries. No once have they offered any compensation. Thanks.

Some employess of Clairmont are trying to withold my refund, double charge me for lease break, falsifying paperwork and taking advantage of me.While residing in this complex, my mother-in-law came to visit. She fell ill and was transported by EMS where she was eventually transferred to hospice back in Charlotte. The leasing office inquired about the situation and I explained, also telling them I may need to break my lease to go back to Charlotte to be with her. [redacted] was very nice at first. When I made the decision to move, I came in to speak to her, but she was out on emergency leave so I was assisted by a new agent who wasn't sure how to complete the move out paperwork. I should have seen the red flags. He left some of the form blank, telling me [redacted] would get back to me. I signed anyways, trusting that they knew me and my situation, I needed to get in some notice so I could start my move. Never any word from [redacted]. Only paperwork I received was move out checklist. Once reviewed, I called to schedule walk thru. I drove back to Raleigh from Charlotte for the walk thru. I called the office to let them know I was there and ready, and they advised me [redacted] was still out on her emergency and it would need to be rescheduled. I told them I needed to get back to Charlotte, nobody told me it had to be reacheduled, is there something else we could do. They sent [redacted] to finish my walk thru and paperwork. When she was leaving my unit she advised me I needed to pay $1658.51 to clear out everything and to keep my credit in check. I advised her that I wanted the cheapest option for move out and she told me that once everything was reconciled that I would get my final paperwork and any refund due to me. I ran up the street, got a cashiers check and waited for call back from someone to let me know about my paperwork and reconciliation. A week went by, heard from no one. I called the office to inquire and to give my new mailing address. They advised me I would be charged $300 for stains on the carpet which I felt was crazy bc I could have cleaned it myself, but they said it was part of the "turn" process. I asked what the amount to be refunded would be and they only told me it would be sent with my reconciliation. Well I received the reconciliation which was only $241. I called [redacted] and she told me my payment had been misapplied (a frequent mishap- 3x in my 9mos) and she would have the cashier check returned to me. She needed corporate to approve and would call me back. Never called me back. I called her to follow up and she assured me it would be issued, and in full amt of $1658.51 bc my penalties had been paid, but not for 7days! I asked if they could overnight it. She had to call me back. Never called back. I called her the next day. She told me it can be overnight but I couldn't cash it for 7days. Then she changed the amt of the check to be returned. I emailed her asking why the amt changed and she sent me a form with my signature saying I agreed that I would pay them the extra money. I told her that paperwork was never finalized and someone, [redacted], in the office was to get back to me to go over the details. Instead they forged documents with my name on them to keep the money. I have the reconciliation statement from corporate that shows the proper reconciliation, ledger of my Acct reflecting refund to be sent and when I told [redacted], she changed the ledger on her end to reflect something different again, but I have the ORIGINAL LEDGER which proves I am owed my money and fees had been paid in another form of payment bc the $1658.51 wasn't even reflecting on my unit since it was misapplied. How can they change and forge paperwork when I have original documents clearly opposing the changes they made? Then I call corp- NIGHTMARE! [redacted] is super rude, laughing at me and hanging up on me, which I have recorded bc I realized, they're only friendly when u live there and once ur gone, they don't have to talk to you. I'm so disappointed and upset and I really just want my money back that they even admitted was owed to me!Desired SettlementI would like my $1658.51 to be returned as it was NOT intended to pay another person's rent and I've already paid all of my fees. The apartment was rented only 8 days after I moved out.

This is about the property manager, her staff and her boss [redacted].I was forced out of my apartment because I complained about being attacked by pit bulls on their grounds.and the unsafe conditions in the clubhouse with water from a broken freezer.it leaked water for four months.I slipped one morning, but caught myself.I am handicapped and was humiliated. I was told to pick up all the dog poop on the grounds.because they couldn't tell if it was from my dog.they told me I couldn't use the clubhouse or pool or grills.and I would have to make a appointment to talk about getting my mail.they gave out my medical emergency number.to have a person in need of money, call my sister and harrass her.I have pictures, and video's and tape recordings showing they forced me out.they refused to maintain my apartment.Desired SettlementI want the moving g expencences, and temporary living I paid for.

I'm having issues with my landlord that I haven't been able to work out between me.I have made several complaints to my landlord regarding my neighbor upstairs who lives above me making nuisance noise for 2 yrs since I have moved in the apartment. I made several attempts to write them letters, made phone calls and also have a copies of police reports but nothing is resolved. The manager kept making excuses for my neighbor and kept ignoring my complaints. I even reached out to the district manager but she didn't seem to care either. But yet when my neighbor says something and tell lies about me banging his ceiling they jump to the gun and accuse me of such without further investigation or ask me what happened. Its gotten so bad that he disruptively continue to make noise in purpose such as jumping, running and dropping heavy objects to push my button because he knows that the landlord would believe him. He was disrupting my sleep and making me feel like my home is uninhabitable. I have made a last attempt to write a letter to my landlord again on 5/10/16 and have reached the point to ask them if I can break my lease early for I cannot take another day of staying at this apartment hearing such nuisance noise since they are not making the attempt to resolve the issue nor talk to this neighbor. They haven't replied to me at all. I feel I shouldn't have to suffer staying at a place where I pay rent and I can't enjoy some peace and quiet and have to suffer putting up with my neighbors disruptive behavior.Desired SettlementI'm seeking resolution from management to have me terminate early on July 31, 2016. This is a reasonable notice and giving them heads up since my lease is up September 15, 2016. I demand an apology and a response in writing from this landlord to terminate my lease early.

Inconsistent information on aggreementI am a previous tenant at Clairmont at Farmgate from 2012-2013. For personal reasons, I had to end my lease early. As I am fully aware of the terms with ending a lease early, the company did not follow through professionally or in a fair manner. There was an agreement between myself and the leasing office that if the apartment was rented out prior to moving out there would not be an owed balance. I was assured that there was not a balance, except for a $25 dollar replacement fee. I was contacted after relocating to another area to be made aware that the apartment in fact had been rented out and we were no longer responsible for any other fees. Without notice or being made aware that the apartment had not in fact been rented out as I was told, a negative balance was posted to my account. No one made us aware of the possibility that the agreement had been broken between the current tenants that they had supposedly already rented out to. This situation has caused a negative towards my credit as well as prevented me from renting elsewhere until the amount of which I was unfairly charged is paid. After doing research this is not the first time, a financial mishap has occurred with the apartment complex according to current and previous tenants. Leasing agents should be clearer, concise and follow through with agreements as this can be detrimental to someone's life. Due to lack of knowledge from staff, I have to pay a balance for which I am wrongfully being charged for. I have not been offered any compensations or apologies for this disaster. Desired SettlementA fair agreement to the balance that was charged to my account that was 0.00. The account amount now holds a balance of 1423.46. Which has yet to be explained or shown to me. When asked to see the actual paper trail of time period the apartment leased there is no information. I need proof and have yet to have any.
