 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because it does not resolve any of the issues and further highlights poor customer service and fraudulent behaviour.
Dec 29th 2016Dear [redacted], The Revdex.com, Thank you for following up with Clark Custom Homes. It is refreshing to see a professional response from the company after seeing a series of combative and petty communications that the owner has sent me privately. I am happy to respond to the note. To start, Clark Custom Homes’s (CCH) proprietor, Oz C[redacted], states my friend approached him in the permit office and mentioned that I said nice things about him. He is correct – I was saying good things and did not have major problems with CCH till we got to the punch list. The builder’s attitude to the project changed after he was paid in full by the bank and then on his company failed to respond to our multiple requests for remediating punch-list issues. The builder conveniently keeps asking for a new list making it appear that we are remiss when his past emails or texts have all the details of pending work. Perhaps, CCH should understand that maintaining reputation is an on-going process and not something you forget after you get paid. Moving on to fraudulent charges - the contract clearly states that all additional work will need to be approved prior to it starting. Through the construction process, CCH had been particular about seeking approval even for $25 items so it is inexplicable how a $800 charge was excluded and then conveniently “slipped-in”. CCH has fraudulently included charges just to “add up” to the last payment from the bank so it does not have to issue a refund to us. This is a clear example of breach of the contractual agreement. In addition, the contract states that the final balance $5000 will be held by the owner till punch list is completed, but the builder presented the accounting to the bank such that he got paid for the punch-list weeks before even the CO was issued. Another breach of the contractual agreement.Last but not the least is the customer service received from CCH. As the proprietor points out, I was an endorser of his business but the poor level of service in the final period and the proprietor’s lack of bothering to address issues have left a bad taste. He has sent us notes and texts (image attached) in response to our grievances that are combative, nasty, and dwell on topics that are not relevant to our grievances, displaying a lack of professionalism and maturity. You would not expect any reputable company let alone one that builds luxury homes to respond in a manner that CCH does to its consumer grievances. Sincerely,
Regards,

12/15/16Dear [redacted],Thank you for helping to resolve this complaint from my customer. I will address the specific items mentioned. We did finish the punch list items we were responsible for, and the work was performed after final bank payment to CCH. The customer hired and fired many of his own...

subcontractors and suppliers and CCH is not responsible for either. We still warranty our work afterwards. I asked the customer for a list of what he expected us to do. He replied that he did not have time. The customer asked for and exercised an allowance for towel and paper holders. We have always installed both without charge, including those supplied by customer. I was already given locations and spent more than a full day of labor plus materials installing wood blocking for seven bathrooms. The owner did not bring them to the house when we asked for them. The customer asked us to utilize a dead space by installing a wet bar. He sent me a [redacted] detail of it. We did not charge for planning, demo, framing, drywall and flooring. I charged him $800 for the rough and finish plumbing after my plumber billed me.His business partner approached me at the permit office and told me he said many nice things about me. His architect told me he would recommend me to anyone. His bank inspector asked me for business cards. But he calls me fraudulent. It doesn’t add up.Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.Best regards,Oz C
