This is in response to the complaint we received on Wed, 12/30/from Mrs *** *** On November 13th, 2015, our Roto Rooter Service Tech, Mr Richard B*** completed a gas pressure test at *** *** *** *** *** ** Our set rate for a gas pressure test is $plus the
permit and tax Mrs *** was quoted this charge when she called in to request our service She was also informed that if there were any gas leaks or appliance issues that these repairs would be done at an additional cost of labor and parts After completing the gas pressure test and the meter had been unlocked, Mr B*** was lighting the appliances and Mrs*** requested that we install a new thermostat; which he did replace with a thermostat that he had on his truck This new thermostat was defective, so he re-installed the existing thermostat and the furnace did work We didn't charge for this service Then on Dec 9th, we received a call that furnace was not working We then installed a new thermostat and billed the same amount we would have charged if we had replaced previously on Nov 13th; a full month earlier On Dec10th we received a call from Mrs *** to complain to Mr S*l about her bill Mr S*l tried repeatedly to explain that she would have been charged this on Nov 13th because this repair was over and above the gas pressure test cost She was very rude and claimed she would take her business elsewhere if we didn't adhere to her wishes In response to her complaint, our office was advised to avoid any further interaction with Mrs *** and that we would refund her the complete costs of the second invoice including the cost of the thermostat The check for the refund was hand-delivered to her house at *** *** *** *** *** ** on Dec30th, 2015, after statements had been processed and all credits had been applied Thank you for your consideration in this matter
