Review: I applied for an apartment at [redacted] in [redacted] on July 7, 2014 and originally was denied on July 11, 2014 for no valid reason. The staff member that denied us no longer works at [redacted]. When applying, we gave [redacted] $100 for our application fee and $200 to hold the apartment. We continued on with our application with someone else at [redacted] that works for Clark Realty Capital LLC. When applying, I informed [redacted] that my husband was deployed to [redacted] at the time and that we wanted to secure a place before he returned home. Knowing that this is a tax credit community, I informed [redacted] that I wanted to apply using the pay that my husband would make once returning home, not what he was making while overseas and they said that was fine. I even had my husband get someone deployed with him to fill out paperwork verifying what he would make upon returning home. The staff member that was helping us asked for further documentation of one thing or another every time I spoke with her. If she said she would get back to me in 3 days, I would wait about 5 and then contact her, at which point she would ask for more documentation. On September 2, 2014 I spoke with this staff member and she said she would get back to me by that Friday, September 5 (2 months after originally applying) with a definite answer about if we were approved or not. I heard nothing from her and waited until September 11 and finally emailed her asking for my $200 holding fee back because we had waited and waited long enough that we gave up on them. They are now refusing to return our money, but my paperwork I have signed does not state that the holding fee is non-refundable. I have multiple emails and all of my paperwork that we have turned in to [redacted] / Clark Realty Capital LLC.Desired Settlement: I would like my $200 holding fee returned.
