After investigating Ms. [redacted]'s claim, it has been determined that the damage is a manufacturer issue. The items were cleaned by the method recommended on the care label. Despite our careful cleaning, the dyes used in the garments were unstable and bled onto the lighter...

portions of the items. We re-cleaned and used stain removal techniques to correct the issue and it was greatly improved but not to Ms. [redacted]'s satisfaction.The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Care Labeling Rule requires care labels on all garments sold in the United States. These labels must be permanent, legible, and easy to find. The care label is intended to give consumers and cleaners guidance on how to care for the item properly. All parts of the garment must be able to withstand the recommended care procedure. I have included information from the International Fabricare Institute regarding dye migration and textile performance.
We provided Ms. [redacted] a letter that she can take to the retailer to help her re-coup her loss. She declined to take the letter. In addition, we are willing to offer a credit of $40.00 which was the cost of the initial cleaning.
