MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:When we started this company
years ago we built our foundation on quality, trust and excellent value to
our clientsThis complaint is the very first that we have ever had with the
Revdex.com, so this is new territory for us. We take every job and all
concerns very seriously as you would expect from a Class A contractor with many
excellent reviews and an A+ rating with the B.B.BI would like to say that we
have never had a problem or complaint on any of our jobs, but that would be a
ridiculous statement in the construction businessWhen confronted with any
type of issue we have always endeavored to be fair and generous in how we
execute a solution. Not true! When I contacted Scott
J*** about the deck issues, he immediately started insulting me and talking
to me like I was a piece of trashI asked him to come look at the deck so we
could show him the issues as there were so manyHe refused saying “I don’t do
that”He said that we have picked apart every detail of the jobsHe kept
demanding payment and the deck had not even been inspected yetIf Classic
Construction cares so much about their clients and resolving issues fairly, why
didn't the owner or President come out and look at this deck as requested?In response to this complaint
I will stand by all of the decisions that we have made while trying in vain, to
satisfy the homeownerHow did you try “in vain” to
satisfy us? While I can appreciate the fact that you stand behind your
employees, there comes a time when you should listen to your client when the
complaint is of this caliberYou should make the effort to visit the client
and view the job with your own eyes versus basing your decisions solely on what
your employees sayWe have also consulted with
two of our manufacturers as well about product issues, that all of us felt were
unjustifiedDespite this, both manufacturers provided additional replacement
product, that was reinstalled, in an attempt at pleasing the homeownerThe only items replaced were two scratched up top rails, one
scratched up deck board and two shorter landing deck boards that had double
camo screw holes on both sides at each joist the full length of the boards…that
is all! What was left was at least board edges that have the finish chipped
off of them, other scratched up deck boards, boards that do not line up at the
edges because they were cut uneven, rounded edges (where the ends were sanded
rounded or at an angle instead of straight)MANY camo screw holes that are
sloppy and inconsistentA lot of them on the top edge of the boards instead of
the sides and some double holesScrew plugs that do line up with the grain of
the boardsKick plates that stick out beneath the steps because the steps were
laid uneven (their “fix” for this was to sand the top of the kick plate, only
some of them, which looks worse than the initial problem and I told Mike P***
this)The last time Mike P*** was here, he took pictures of a couple of the
camo screw holes that were on the top edgeHe said they were not supposed to
be like that and he was going to address itThere comes a
time when, even though mistakes have been made.....and rectified (not even close!), that further demands are not
justified.We have discussed this project
many times, before, during and after and feel that we have gone to the extreme
to complete the work correctlyWhen the job was completed and the punch list
checked (only a few items on the list given to CC were done, as
noted above), the customer paid us in
fullWe paid in full because we had a signed contract, Scott
J*** threatened me and we could not afford an attorney to fight it They have not made an
attempt to contact us about anything and the items listed in their complaint
have been addressed. When I initially contacted them to
discuss the issues, I was treated with an unbelievable amount of disrespect and
was insulted repeatedlyI was told that there was NOTHING wrong with this
deck, that we were just nitpicking and looking for something wrong with it
Since I was treated so horribly by the owner of the company, the project
manager and the crew leader, why would we contact them again about the
remaining issues? Issues that THEY dismissed!There is absolutely no reason
for us to consider, in good conscience, providing them a refund of any amount
We sincerely hope that they find happiness and enjoy the projects that we have
successfully provided for themThere is no way for
us to find happiness and enjoy this deck with the way it looks and the stress
that this has caused usIt is a constant reminder of how horribly I was
treatedThere is no way that this poorly crafted deck would be acceptable to
othersIf they feel it was so great, why don’t they use our clopictures
to show potential clients before they sign a contract with them? I have many
pictures to support our claims of poor craftsmanship on this deck.Mike P*** complained so many
times about being at our house so muchWhen we originally met with him
regarding the deck and when we signed the contract, he told us several times,
“you will see me so much when the job startsI will be out here so much
checking on the job that you will get sick of me”Other than going over the
contract and plans and deciding what materials to use, we only requested him to
come to our house ONE time and that was to go over some changes with the deck
planHe also told us, several times, about the camo screws that they useHe
said that we would not see the holes because they go into the side of the boards
(that was a lie because, they are a visible mess!)Before the deck could be
started, we were hit with a hail storm and had to get the house repairs done
firstClassic Construction did those repairs as well, except the roof because
the roofer went to the wrong house twice to do the estimateWe met with Mike
about the storm repairs a few timesBetween both jobs he was here a lot, but
not on our requestHe checked on the jobs, dropped off paperwork (for
inspection), dropped off materials, checked on incomplete material deliveries,
picked up material and checked on the job when the original deck frame fell on
one of the crew members from the first crew

Classic Construction completed a screened porch/room for us in March 2016. Five stars doesn't come close to accurately representing our experience with Classic. If I could give them 10+, I absolutely would. They did an incredible job and we couldn't be more thrilled with the final product.
My husband has incredibly high standards and pays extreme close attention to detail, craftsmanship and finish work. He was beyond impressed with the building team's skill, attention to detail and craftsmanship. The quality of their work and the care they took during each step of the project was beyond expectations. They went the extra mile every step of the way to create an incredible space for us.
If you are considering this company, you won't be disappointed. They are the very best at what they do - top-notch in every way. We won't consider any other contractors in the future - we are Classic customers for life.
