Review: This establishment does not use there heat. On 26 January 2014 the temperature outside was 23 degrees and there were at least 3 kids in the barbershop to include mines.Desired Settlement: I would like for the owner to turn the heat on.

First, we appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint. We are a small-business company that has been servicing the public for over 20 years. Though we fully understand the customer’s complaint, we believe that we did our best to address her needs and grievance, and it’s unfortunate that it was not resolved to her satisfaction.

This particular customer approached the owner regarding the temperature of the business. The actual temperature gage was displaying 70 degrees. To some, this may seem conservative since it was 20 degrees outside, however, we find that 70 degrees serves both a comfortable and economical standard during this winter period.

We addressed her complaint at the time by informing her that as a business that services the public we have to keep all of our customers’ comfort level in mind. At the time we had several independent contracted-Barbers working with various pieces of equipment operating consecutively, which were also generating heat. We have customers that have high blood pressure, heart problems, and clientele who are going through other health-related challenges, so keeping the temperature stable is required. For those customers that are not comfortable or require additional attention, we have provided access to several space heaters on the floor for their use while they are visiting with us. Regarding this customer, we offered her a heater and adjusted it accordingly when she complained her feet were cold; she then alleged that all of the kids in the shop were cold; however, during further discussions with those children’s parents, they assured us that they were all fine.

In the end it was not fitting to accommodate one customer’s demand at the cost of the many patrons we were servicing at the time. Nonetheless, this customer received service and we made every attempt to accommodate her request and as stated previously, we’re saddened to learn that we were unable to satisfy her but truly feel that we did our best to address her concerns and tried to rectify the matter. At no time did we receive any complaints from our additional clientele and consider this grievance to be an isolated incident. We sincerely appreciated this customer’s patronage and do hope that she understands our position.

I am rejecting this response because: There was no heat on when me and my son entered the barbershop, when I complained to the owner, that' s when he told the barber cutting my son hair to turn on the space heater. I was not the only one that was cold in the barbershop, a barber who was also cutting hair had his son in there and he also complained about how cold it was in the barbershop. My son has a disability and is unable to fully comprehend so I have to be his eyes and ears. I was extremely cold in the barbershop and I was fully clothe with a winter coat and winter boots. I don't understand why this barbershop did not have on their heat when it's 20 degree's outside 70 degree's inside is not comfortable on a extremely cold day. Nevertheless, I do think the owner for taking time out of his day to respond to my inquiry. I just know that I have to dress me and my son warmer in the winter month's if I decide to bring him back.
