Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/02/04) */ I have reviewed these concerns with my staff to determine if in fact we made a mistake in our reccomendations for your vehicle and I must disagree with some of your statementsFirst you are correct when you say that in between your services they did not reconfirm the need to replace the water pump on [redacted] 7th and [redacted] 16,our records indicate that you had come in for oil changes inbetween those dates and a basic service was performed.The other information is incorrect, I believe that your waterpump shows signs of leakage and should be replacedIt does not have to overheat to fail as you were toldYour mothers vehicle was in and your husband was personaly shown the coolant spray under the hood by SteveAnd finally I reprinted all of the repair orders from Saturday [redacted] 18th and I dont see a single recommendation for a water pump on any of them, so there is no way your husband heard "several people being told that? I would offer you the opportinity to bring your vehicle in to have it reinspected in front of you just to prove to you that we are honest but based on the inacturate statements made I not sure it would be productive

At that time there where no signs of transmission failure and no warning codes stored in the computer. The transmission failure had nothing to do with our service and our diagnosis was the same as the previous Toyota dealer which indicates that this part was needed. Based on those facts we are not refunding the repair costs, however I will refund the cost of the towing charge since that issue was not clearly expressed prior to towing it in. Please advise me if this is acceptable and I will send the customer a check for the $83.00 .

I still do not agree with car dealers diagnosis of my car. I still believe there wasn't anything wrong with the car's water pump, as I stated before there were never any symptoms to indicate it was a problem. Any rate, it was my fault for not asking to see the problem/part and being naive to fully trust them. I want to close the chapter on this mistake and move on.
