Charged tax when I shouldn't have and was lied too.The piece of furniture that I purchased was selling for $499. They company charged $50 (even though they said $25) to that equaling 549. The company then added 7% tax to that price which equals 587.43. Then the loan company (Okinus) added another 7% sales tax to the $588 that Classic Oak sent to them which equals $629.16. I paid 113.56 as a down payment which leaves a total of 515.60.I called the loan company for clarification. The manager at the loan company saw the issue and told me that she would call the furniture store.I received a phone call back from the loan company and she told me that they told her the $88 that was added to the sale price which was 499 was for the delivery. However, before the loan company called them my wife talked to the same manager at Classic Oaks. They told her that the sale price was $499 plus $50 for delivery plus $33 for a fee to use Okinus. The loan company told me that the furniture store told them that they charged $88 to equal $588. I asked why it was $588 and I was told by Classic Oak that the extra $38 was taxes. Then later while looking over the bill we noticed that [redacted] was putting tax onto the payments as well. My wife called Classic Oaks, and then they took time to review the contract and called her back. I have a recording of them telling my wife and yelling at her at some point, that $33 was for using [redacted], and not for a delivery set up fee. The store owner [redacted] continued to state condescendingly, in this recording, that "either way they charged $100 normally for the delivery fee, and that we were charged $50. So which ever way we looked at it the $33 was a fee for using [redacted]," but the amount in question was actually $38. When we questioned [redacted] for the increase in the sale price they explained to us that Classic Oak had made a mistake and [redacted] made Classic Oaks revise the contract. [redacted] told me that Classic Oaks was not allowed to put additional fee's into the sales price and that there was no charge for setting up [redacted]. Then we get a call from Classic Oaks Jan. 9,2015 asking us to pay $88. I feel like the restitution for the lying, bad customer service, and mistreatment we received from Classic Oaks would be that they release us from the $88 "balance" they say we owe to them for their mistake.
