he damage that Classical Cooling and Heat did to our home was astoundingUltimately I had to call a plumber, painter, and tile man to fix the damage that Classical caused with their carelessness, lack of expertise, and disrespect for my property and my timeI gave up countless days that turned into months regularly waiting for Classical staff who never showed up when they were scheduled to work in my homeIn the end, I deducted all my costs - $5K - to fix the damage to my bathroom and ended up paying only $20KMy time and ruined summer were not deducted from the billI experienced three months of one lie after the nextNick was nice when you got him on the phone or email or when he came to my home and always promised to make things better but he never followed throughSlowly I saw him for what he is - a person that tells you something with the intent to deceive, which is the dictionary definition of a liar; he is also a cheatA quick review of his company on *** ***, and the NYC Revdex.com website confirm that many others have had similar experiences(Nick's responses to bad reviews on Angie's List are always similar - it's the reviewer who is wrong - never Classical and never does he apologize and publicly offer to make things better)So last September after three months and with the summer heat almost gone, I finally had a new central A/C workingA few days before Memorial Day when I turned on the newly installed central A/C that was only months old and cost $20K, water from the A/C poured out of my bathroom ceiling above which the A/C had been installedAfraid of a flood and damage to the equipment, I turned off the A/C and l emailed Nick, called his many telephone #s and left messagesHe never responded and after I left countless messages had his answering service forward my calls to message instead of speaking to the person from Reception HQ who picked up the phoneI know this because I had friends call Classical's number - 347-534-- from their phones and conference me inMy friends calls were picked up since the answering service didn't know my friends' phone numbersSounds crazy - yes, it isWe even called Classical's employee, Marino, who also never returned the calls we made to himIn spite of my warranty,
Classical left me high and dry - like the company has done with so many other trusting New Yorkers who made the mistake of hiring themAfter several days of no response at all to my recent emails or calls - even though I am under warranty (which clearly means nothing), I called in another companyThis A/C company said that Classical did not install the A/C properly because a drain trap that can be emptied and cleaned was not put in and a drain pan was not installed (see the picture of what Nick installed where the drain could not be removed or cleaned and no drain pan)Because Classical had not responded to my many calls and emails, I had to pay to have a new drain installed to stop water leaking, only months after spending $20KA high proportion of customers that use Classical Cooling and Heat are likely to experience what my family didWith so many reviewers giving really bad reviews, why would you want to take a risk hiring this company? I urge you to check out Classical Cooling and Heat on ***, ***, and the NYC Revdex.com's websiteI urge you not to engage this companyAlthough Nick wanted me to pay in cash (then he said he wouldn't have to charge me the tax - a regular practice of the company - those of you who used Classical Cooling are aware of this ), I am so happy that I charged most of the job to my American Express card and will let Amex go after Nick and his companyFinally, I would say that Classical's behavior is not only unethical but may also be criminal - cheating customers of thousands of dollars of their hard earned money with empty promises to honor their commitmentsOne of the reviewers said that Nick opens and closes companies regularly when things get too "hot" for himI urge you not to engage with this company at any price and not to be fooled with how nice they seem initiallyNIck has one really amiable employee - Marino - who tried his bestIt must be so demoralizing for him to work for one so deceitfulAs a potential first time customer, you may be willing to risk hiring this firm if it is for a small job costing less than a couple of hundred dollarsBut would you want to risk it for for any sum over that? I suggest that it's too uncertain, unless Nick agrees that payment will not be required until the job is fully completed and you are satisfied and an independent A/C professional inspects and approves the workBTW, I have email chains that verify everything I am sayingI'd be happy to forward them if you'd like to confirm the truthfulness of my reviewSadly, I discounted every negative review I read about Classical and Nick, thinking the experience was unique to the reviewerHow silly and naive I wasIf you do hire this company, I say BUYER BEWAREYou have been forewarnedWhy risk it?
