I as a professional did return his phone call I received on 8/19/after receiving a voice mail asking if I was available to install tile in a shower for him, I indicated clearly my Dr said no work for weeks plus I was leaving on a day vacation with my family on 8/23/and when I return 9/5/from vacation I need physical therapy and a follwith my Dr, therefore I would not be able to committ to any other jobs at that time.I have been in business for years I have never had any one complain to the Revdex.com or anywhere elseI take great pride in my work and my reputation, I can produce a letters if I need to to from local businesses, contractor's, and personal homeowners stating their satisfaction with my workI would love to know the "professional" he had come inspect my work I noticed their's no "professional's" name listed or a contract from one showing his claims of the need to repair or the cost he would incureAgain we had no contract between us for anything, I installed tile in a bathroom floor, he accepted my price of $approved of the job when finished and wrote me a check for $(see attached receipt of payment) that clearly says Install Tile Floor in bathroomDoes not say DepositSincerely, Clay [redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Mr. [redacted] has not been truthful in his response and I am still seeking resolution on this matter, in hopes to resolve mutually before getting the court system involved. Mr. [redacted] mentions that we agreed to tile just the floor, which is not true.  The floor was only part of the job, and it does not make sense that I would pay Mr. [redacted] to do just the floor when I needed the shower tiled as well. I had originally received an estimate from [redacted], who quoted me $660 in labor to do the entire bathroom. [redacted] had sub-contracted Mr. [redacted] to perform the install job, and Mr. [redacted] was going to get paid around $400 to do the job, which [redacted] made an error when they estimated the job. Once Mr. [redacted] arrived, he immediately said he would not do the entire job for the $400 that [redacted] was going to pay him. He mentioned that the amount would cover the floor, but not the shower. Since I needed the entire bathroom done (floor + shower), we both agreed to work directly and I was quoted $1000 for the entire job, as the shower was more effort than the floor. I originally made Mr. [redacted] aware of my project time constraints as my wife and I were expecting a baby soon, and I wanted to get the room finished before the baby came. After Mr. [redacted] was done with the floor, he requested 1/2 of our original verbal agreement, which was $500, then wrote up a receipt for the work that was done so far. This is when Mr. [redacted] became unresponsive and while he did mention his hip issue, he made it clear he would call me by Friday 8/19 to let me know when he could continue the job.  I never heard back on 8/19, and made several follow-up calls within 1-3 weeks after. Mr [redacted] never called me back to tell me he was not able to finish my job, and left me in a difficult situation with my project deadline. Not responding to a customer is no way to treat a customer, especially when they made several follow-up calls to find out what was going on.  If Mr. [redacted]'s claims are true that he has performed work for 40 years and never had anyone complain, then he should have performed a quality job for me when he clearly did not. I have attached a document showing pictures of Mr. [redacted]'s work. There is no reason why a small bathroom floor cannot have level tile, since you use thinset to raise/lower the tiles to match each other. The concrete floor was perfectly level before, which I have also included a photo of the concrete floor level before Mr. [redacted] messed it up when he applied thinset over a DITRA heated floor system.  Even after he did this, he still could have put down level tiles with better thinset control. However, Mr. [redacted] seemed to have rushed the job, and never even checked his work with a level. I can assure you that the work that Mr. [redacted] performed for me was not even close to a professional. I inspected a room my father tiled without any experience, and there was no lippage noticeable anywhere in the tile. With Mr. [redacted]'s work, you can see it all over.  I was forced to hire another contractor to finish the job, who also said nothing but poor things about the quality of Mr. [redacted]'s work.  I am still seeking a partial refund of $300 to cover the damage that Mr. [redacted]'s work has caused, as well as the inconvenience he has put me through never following up and leaving me in a difficult situation, having to find another contract to finish the job on very short notice for a premium rate. I am also hoping that others will be aware of my bad experience with Mr. [redacted] so that they can not get left in a bind and have poor quality work performed for them as well. The poor quality job that Mr. [redacted] did on my bathroom floor will impact resale value if I decide to sell this property in the future, as it is very obvious as your feet hit the tile edges due to excess lippage, as well as it is visually apparent. Attachments:1. Pictures of Mr. [redacted]'s unprofessional work, as well as proof the concrete floor was level prior to the job.2. Receipt showing $660 labor originally quoted by [redacted], which Mr. [redacted] would get paid ~$400, which is why we verbally agreed to do the entire bathroom for $1,000 and [redacted] refunded me the install money due to their estimate error. $300 refund is very reasonable, considering all of the issues I have had to deal with due to Mr. [redacted]. Regards,[redacted]

On October 7th I received a letter from you on a complaint agaist my business. The complaining party is [redacted]. Mr [redacted] contacted me about tile he wanted installed on a bathroom floor. concerns to the owner [redacted] that the floor was not even it was wavy, and unlevel, and I would do the best I could to make it level. I told him my fee for the tile floor was $500 he agreed. When the floor was completed Mr. [redacted] was not completely satisfied because of the slight wave still in floor but stated I can live with it. I gave him my bill and he wrote me a check for the tiled bathroom floor, it was not a deposit it was for work that I completed, we had no contract between us for any work including a shower. I as a professional did return his phone call I received on 8/19/16 after receiving a voice mail asking if I was available to install tile in a shower for him, I indicated clearly my Dr said no work for 4 weeks plus I was leaving on a 10 day vacation with my family on 8/23/16 and when I return 9/5/16 from vacation I need physical therapy and a follow-up with my Dr, therefore I would not be able to committ to any other jobs at that time.I have been in business for 40 years I have never had any one complain to the Revdex.com or anywhere else. I take great pride in my work and my reputation, I can produce a 100 letters if I need to to from local businesses, contractor's, and personal homeowners stating their satisfaction with my work. I would love to know the "professional" he had come inspect my work I noticed their's no "professional's" name listed or a contract from one showing his claims of the need to repair or the cost he would incure. Again we had no contract between us for anything, I installed tile in a bathroom floor, he accepted my price of $500 approved of the job when finished and wrote me a check for $500 (see attached receipt of payment) that clearly says Install Tile Floor in bathroom. Does not say Deposit. Sincerely, Clay [redacted]
