This water company is the worst I have faithfully paid my water bill on time for seven yearsI came home today to find a notice that my water had been cut off Somehow I missed paying this bill It was news to me My payment two weeks late Rather than a notification of some sort, they came out and cut off my water I have my elderly mother and brain injured son living with me Water is very important to their careI had to go out their office They wouldn't take a payment by phone and then pay for a $reconnection fee What a scam!!!! It would be so much better to give a customer a one month grace period and have the missed payment on the next bill with a late fee instead of causing so much grief I understand cutting off water if you miss several payments, but two weeks? Highway robbery

If I could give them a zero, I would. We have payed our bill on time for the last 14 months. This month, we did not get our bill in the mail due to a mix-up at the post office, I guess. Instead of giving us any warning about our late payment, they just shut our water off. Then when I tried to go remedy the situation I was told to pay a $40 "reconnection fee", which basically means someone just has to come out here and flip a switch to turn my water back on. I estimate that would take about 5 minutes, considering I live 1 mile from the location of the company. This means whoever turns the water back on must get paid some $400/hour if it costs $40 to take the 5 minutes and switch my water back on. If that is the case, I need to apply for that job.
I asked to speak with the manager, whom I happened to already be speaking with. I was as respectful as I could be, but her response was "I don't put the mail in the mail box". That's apparently as helpful as she could be. Apparently since we didn't call and inquire about our missing bill, it is my fault for having not paid. I guess it is impossible for the company to use the phone number on file and call us, maybe ask us why the payment is late before shutting off the water and trying to charge us $40 to switch it back on.
