Clayton's Mean Machines Reviews (2)

On Sunday, 4/20/14, I dropped my car off at "Clayton's mean Machines." The owner, [redacted], told me that it was a "Knock Sensor" that had gone bad that was causing the acceleration problem and that he could have the problem fixed in two days- it took four. Parts cost $140, labor $330. The total cost of $470 was paid in cash, no reciepts were received. He made it very clear that he was a cash only business. After getting my car, I discovered the problem persisted. I then contacted Mr. [redacted] via text message on 4/28/14 explaining the predicament. I returned a few weeks later, after finishing my semester at [redacted] to have him take another look. I dropped the car back off on 5/12/14. This time he claimed it was an electrical issue and that he would have to track down the problem manually. He removed my stereo, my amplifier, my under dash lights, and blamed the after market improvements for the issue. None of these features turned out to be the problem, and he did not re-install them. Additionally he charged me $300 in labor (no parts) and sent me on my way, telling me to return for a "really good deal" if the problem persisted. It did. I returned my vehicle on 6/4/14 and was told it would be looked at within a few days. After checking on the status of vehicle I learned no new work had been done, and Mr, [redacted] said if I didn't like it, I could take me car, as is, and go somewhere else. I am out an $800 sound system, and nearly $800 dollars in parts and labor for a problem this is still in existence.Product_Or_Service: Auto repairDesired SettlementI would like the total of monies paid reimbursed as well as the cost of the damages done in the form of the now broken sound system and floor board lights. Total amount $1270.

I went to Claytons oil changer to get a tire put on my vehicle only to my knowledgethat he wasn't not capable of putting a tire on. So he takes my rim off and goes to another business to have tire put on. After his return he puts tire on the. I asked if he had another tireused for the front left. He goes and gets a tire takes or tire off puts tire on but he didn't have itbalanced he said tire was good. I had informed him my tire am needed replaced he goes to another business gets parts but said he didn't have time to do work. He then gets in my vehicle drives it with me in it stops on road to adjust alignment again he isn't qualified to do this work. We get backto his shop he charged me 180.00 for tire and labor. I get in my vehicle and my car was sliding across the road. By the time I got home I called Clayton he agains tells me that I needed a allotment however he fails to demise two months ago I had one done by local tire shop. The next day my leg tire was flat went back to him he found two screws in tire charged me to plug tire said I must have drove in a construction site. I drive my vehicle to my home the day prior and did not drive it till I took it back o claytons. Now my car has been none drivable for going on 6 weeks. Because both tires on front have no tread and it's no safe to drive. I called Clayton and he said all I won't is something free that he did me a favor and that he refuses to correct the tire issue. He doesn't have proper equipment to do work in his building. It's very dirty and is not safefor customers to be in the shop. I never got a receipt for service and he don't have anyway to make payments. He only takes cash. He's also using building for nitro for his racing needs. He don't have any permits or certificates present. My concern is he has no ability to wok on tires or that matter front end work. He's an oil changer but is running his business like he is a licensed business. To go to another business to have a tire put on isn't good business.Product_Or_Service: TireDesired SettlementI would like my two tires replaced. I have had another business do my front end alignment another 60 dollars but my left tire and right are wore done bc of his unprofessional work. Both sides where 2inches off on alignment and it has chewed my tires up. I would like for this business to either refund me my money or correct the problem. While on phone with him he called me some very nasty names and I old him you don't talk to customers like that. So I much rather have refund.
