Review: [redacted] of Clean Coat painting did not deliver the services promised in a written estimate.
I hired Clean Coat painting to paint the interior of my home. The job was sloppy and incomplete - see below for details:
Work not completed that was part of written estimate (I have photos for additional detail):
-Nail holes were not filled (16 holes in downstairs bedroom, 4 in master bath)
-Damaged drywall corner and texture were not touched up (just painted over)
-New door was not caulked (all nail holes and screws in the trim and frame were NOT filled, just painted over - looks unprofessional and unfinished)
-Several areas where the existing white paint could clearly be seen through the light gray where a second coat was needed
-Existing hole patches were not touched up (you had even pointed these out specifically on our initial meeting)
Sloppy work, paint over-spray/drips/splatter on:
-Both bathtubs -- a lot
-Bathroom cabinets
-Bathroom mirrors
-Bathroom towel bars
-Bathroom light fixtures (wall)
-Shower faucet trim (where the spout comes out of the wall)
-Toilet tank cover
-Toilet shut off valves
-Bathroom door trim
-Brand new floor tile in master bath
-Dining room vertical blinds
-Kitchen counter tops
-Bathroom light switches
-Bathroom electrical sockets
-Multiple other light switches/socketsDesired Settlement: $350 refund - a 20% discount because services promised were not delivered

Response:
Thank you for your letter of January 13, 2014 regarding my client Mr. [redacted]. After reading his
Statement of the Problem, it is possible that some of his concerns are valid, but his description of most
of these items seems over'exaggerated. The types of things Mr. [redacted] commented on are not
uncommon and are easily remedied in a final touch up phase. Mr. [redacted] did not give me a chance to
verify the extent of these issues and he did not give me the opportunity to fix them, as I would have
been happy to do. l've been in paint business for over 20 years and I pride myself on professionalism
and hard work. I strive to make all of my customers happy and satisfied with our services. Usually when
customers have concerns or issues, we will discuss them and typically I will personally visit the home or
site and either do the work myself or arrange for it to be completed right away. Unfortunately, Mr.
[redacted] decided to be unreasonable and unapproachable after the work was done, and as such, I was not
given a chance to see the work and/or remedy it.
Although I would have preferred the chance to address all of his concerns, I will be offering Mr. [redacted] a
$175 refund via an email to him today.
please note my correct address above for future correspondence. Should You need to reach me, my
phone number is (916) 825-:3713.
Sincerely,
Clean Coat Painting, Inc.

Response:
I am still upset with the unprofessional response that I initially received prior to the Revdex.com complaint and refund offer of only half of what I requested (and with no explanation of why the amount was lower than requested) - but realize that this is not a reputable business and that the owner has no intent of owning up to the poor service and execution. Therefor, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
