Cleaning for A Cause Reviews (1)

On Tuesday April 14, 2015 Cleaning for a Cause cleaned my home and broke my kitchen blinds. On April 14, 2015 Cleaning for a Cause came to honor a [redacted] for a home cleaning. While the cleaning job performed was very good, they broke my kitchen blinds. When I came home and opened the blinds I immediately noticed the blinds were curved slightly. I sent [redacted] a text regarding the blinds as soon as I noticed that evening. I received a response the next day stating that they were broken when she arrived. I understood they were difficult to raise, but they were NOT broken. My father and son can both attest to the fact that these blinds were working. When I got home today (April 15th) I took pictures and sent them to [redacted] showing the damage. She claims it was like that before and they are not responsible. That is 100% incorrect. All I ask is that the blinds are repaired or replaced. She indicated that she would not charge the $15 for the oven cleaning but that was the best she could do. That is unsatisfactory. I am trying to sell my home and this should not have happened.Desired SettlementI would like the blinds repaired or replaced. Business Response During the 5 years of operation I have always replaced items that we are responsible for damaging because accidents happen. In this case I was personally in the home and while we were performing the cleaning task on the blinds we noticed the blinds would not raise. at that point we decided to not use the strings at all and work around the blinds. The client noticed the string was loose on one side which I did not notice while at the home, after receiving the pictures the piece that came loose is attatched to the strings which we did not use due to them now working when we arrived. Tried to explain to the client that her blinds are not broken as they just need to be put back in place. I offered to waive the $15.00 fee for oven cleaning as she was not happy even though I'm not sure how it could have come apart with us not using the pull string. I also offered to come by and fix it and show her it wasn't broken and that the blind is manufactured incorrectly so the string will continue to fall off which explains why she agrees it is difficult to use. I did tell the client that I don't feel that we are responsible as it wasn't working properly when we got to the home and didn't pull on the string that would cause this to happen. I also stated that I wouldn't replace a blind that just needs to have the string reattached and that isn't broken. Consumer Response Part of this response is incorrect. The strings were used because the pull strings were at the bottom of the window now they are at the top. The reason the blinds are difficult to raise is because of the center brace, not the edges. I also had to replace the pull knob when I came home so I know someone pulled the cord. It is very possible that when they worked around them the string 'came apart' as she states...which still does not absolve them from returning my blinds in the same condition in which they were found. In response to the cleaning of the stove, I also sent pictures to show that was not done. There was still evidence of a powder like substance inside my oven that would indicate it was not finished and it was not clean. The drip pans were also not cleaned. When I sent this to the company she stated that she could come out and would call during business hours, but was waiting on a response from Revdex.com. At any rate if they are not broken and it is only a 'simple fix' I am not sure why it is such an issue to do it. It would seem that good customer service and a positive review would far outweigh $15 for an oven cleaning that was not performed.Final Business Response I have already given the clients information to a handyman to come fix the blind As of Friday 4/17/15. We offered to come fix the blind the day after the pictures were sent and instead of a reply we got a message from Revdex.com. In the 5 years of operation we have never had a complaint like this and we always want everyone to be completly satisfied. This was a [redacted] cleaning that we accepted after the voucher had expired, we stayed an extra 30 min to get more than what the client had asked for. We really went out of our way to try and make the client happy as we always do even for our [redacted] clients and the messages after business trying to commuicate was not easy or productive in this case. There is always 2 sides to every story and I'm sorry that this client feels the way she does and has handled this the way she has as this would have been fixed right after the pictures were sent. Our company has replaced hardwood floors, carpet from a small bleach stain and refinished furniture that I wasn't even sure if it was from our cleaners but the doubt was there so we paid to have a 100 year old dresser refinished. With this being said the cost of a blind isn't the reason I had told the client we wouldn't replace it. the blind will be fixed as I had told the client before the Revdex.com complaint but Im having a third party take care of the scheduling. I'm sure the client is dealing with stress due to trying to sell her home and we all know the stress that can cause and I'm sure her messages weren't meant to come across the way they did and I apologize if we took them the wrong way but Im glad she did recognize our hard work and when the blind is fixed hopefully she will feel better and have a successful sell. As far as the oven at this point it isn't worth the added stress and we are not pushing for that Fee. We just want the blind fix and put this to rest.
