After care is nonexistent
Be warned that after they put the implants in they do not offer any "after care" and refer you out. I had several questions about this and Renee at front desk was HORRIBLE and offered NO HELP. Its really a shame because the drs are nice, but the front desk acts like they are in charge. They do not give you options to whom you can go too, only one other dr which is even a further drive for me after driving over 2 hours! I honestly feel they got my money and no longer care. The last appointment the Dr stated he wanted to do xrays at my next visit and the front desk told me that was wrong and wouldnt even check! VERY disappointed in Renee and how she is so nasty with people!

Dear *** ***,Thank you for your letter of June 1, (ID: ***). We appreciate the opportunity to respond. The claimant was seen for medical treatment and as such, given the confidential and sensitive nature, our response is limited in detail out of respect to the privacy of
the matter. The claimant requested and attended an evaluation concerning dental implant treatment in with Implant Dentistry Associates of Philadelphia, P.Cd/b/a Clear Choice Dental Implant Center. At this 1/5/hour examination, the doctor performed-i-CAT and X-Ray images, took impressions, prepared wax rims for jaw relations, explained and discussed consents with the claimant, prescriptions were ordered and the doctor performed a tooth extraction.Consistent with Practice protocol, the claimant reviewed the treatment plan, this plan stated that upon receipt of a non-refundable $1,deposit, 2-hours of office and doctor time be held for the initial evaluation. The Practice has been transparent concerning the deposit, and has provided the claimant services in excess of a standard evaluation. While we would be open to your suggestions, we believe we have done everything possible to resolve the claimant's issues and we do not feel there is anything further we can provide at this point. I purchased dental implants at Clear Choice in 2012, I go annually for check up and cleaningsI have always submitted my follow up bills to my insurance with no problemsThe original doctor retired and our claim was denied this time because the new doctor is not in the system as approved dentistMy insurance will not allow me to send them the information, they require Clear Choice contacts them and even gave me direct contact informationThis company refuses to contact them as requested and will not help me

I am getting a dental implant procedure done at Clear Choice Dental and I haven't received a replyI requested informational printouts outlining the dental implant procedure for upper and lower implantsI have requested the information over times

When patients come to our office, the work is an elected procedure. We do not opt in to dental insurances. With her old dentist, they may have had him already in the system and that may be why she didn’t have any issues. It is not required for our dentists to take insurance. We provide them all...

dental codes to submit to their insurance. I have not heard of anyone else having this issue, so it may be something we need to walk her through the process. She can call our office at [redacted] and ask for [redacted], if [redacted] is not available, she can ask for [redacted]. Either one of them will be happy to help assist her.

This complaint is false in the nature that this individual is not a patient of record with our practice. The individual came in to the practice for a free consultation and was provided a preliminary treatment proposal. The individual did not move forward with treatment. The practice has...

sent the the proposal by mail as requested.

Dear [redacted],Thank you for forwarding the Claimant's June 13, 2017 response to our initial answer.  We again appreciate the opportunity to respond.  To reiterate our prior disclaimer, the Claimant was seen for medical treatment and as such, given the confidential and sensitive nature, our response is limited in detail out of respect to the privacy of the matter.Since receipt of the Claimant's response, we have received notification that the patient has also filed a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General.  As such, we will continue to coordinate any and all communications concerning this misunderstanding through that agency.  We appreciate the opportunity to respond, as it is also our goal to amicably resolve this patient concern.Sincerely,Dr. Felicia D. Claimant came to ClearChoice in December of 2013 with existing implants from another provider. It was noted and discussed that his implants were infected and failing. Claimant opted to have two implants removed, the infection cleaned up and an attempt made to salvage his existing bridge. He elected...

not to have the failing implants removed and new bridges made. Ordering parts to repair the existing work proved to be a lengthy, exhausting process. There is only one company, Implants Direct, who could potentially provide parts for the claimants implants given that the original manufacturer is no longer in business. [redacted] stated they were in the process of manufacturing the parts. We were in constant contact with the claimant both on the phone and in person regarding te waiting period and that the wait was unfortunately beyond our control. We had a conference call with [redacted] while claimant was in the office. The claimant heard directly from this manufacturer that the parts were simply unavailable. In the end, claimant felt as though we did not try to help him through the process which is unfortunate. While some parts and arrive, they were not complete nor correct. We recommended one last time that it was in the claimant's best interest to remove his failing existing work, done by another provider some year ago and proceed with new implants. Claimant elected to seek treatment elsewhere and it is our understanding he had all the failing implants removed and was given dentures. We did refund claimant all money paid to us for work that was completed and work that had yet to be completed. We feel that we communicated with [redacted] over the course of this situation as well as were able to given the circumstances. We are disappointed that the result of our efforts resulted in his leaving the practice less than fully satisfied. Sincerely,[redacted], DDS,MS

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear [redacted]Thank you for your follow up on my complaint against Clear Choice Dental ID [redacted].In the second paragraph they said we attended a evaluation concerning dental implant treatment which is true but they neglected to use the wording in their ad that it was a free consultation which included free 3D-CT SCAN.No impressions or wax rims were taken and this was also told to Matthew C[redacted] over the phone. He said he would have to look into that but there  still is no response yet.At this 1.5 hour examination, about half the time as spent going over financing the procedure which was not signed. We left a $1000 deposit with the understanding  it would be used after a date was scheduled and committed at a later time. In paragraph three office protocol stated a 2-3 hours of office and doctor time be held for the initial evaluation which looks like that is when the was molds would be made so no work was done as I stated , just a free consultation .

Review: I went to clear Choice Dental on 12/13/2013 to get my teeth tightened up. [redacted] was appointed to me and I had a preliminary consultation with him where I signed the medical assessment that he made for me on Thursday January, 23, 2014. The total cost came out to be $5000. He also signed the cost and assessment report. I paid for the procedure completely out of my pocket. He appointed me a surgeon to operate and clean the infection out of my implants. Couple of months later the screws on the teeth got loose on which they had to yet complete the procedure by putting in my 4 teeth. When I went on December 13,2015 to get it tightened, I found out that the Surgeon that operated on me was gone. Then I was appointed Dr. [redacted] to take over. He pulled the plate out and filled it with cement and sent me home. The cement was falling off in my mouth and the sharp edges were hurting me. The next day I went back in and had them grind the cement down. They told me they needed to order some parts from [redacted]. I waited for the parts for a few months and called back again to get an update. They told me they didn't receive the parts yet. I got fed up of the pain and not being able to eat right and called [redacted] myself to investigate. They told me Clear Choice did not place any order. I called the dental office after a few months and they told me the screws have came in but she had no idea what happened to the rest of the parts. I asked Dr. [redacted] directly about the parts the same day and he said "There are none" after 2 years!! The 4 teeth that were supposed to be put in did not get put in and without completing the entire procedure properly he sent me home. Along this process they lost my xrays and impressions of my teeth. I have been without teeth since then and unable to eat properly.Desired Settlement: I would like to get reimbursed my $5000 that I paid out of my pocket for the procedure they did not complete and neglected for more than 2 years. I haven't been able to eat properly and I constantly hurt. I would like to get my money back so I can pay another Dentist to complete the procedure that Clear Choice did not finish. I don't have insurance and I don't have anymore money to cover my expensive dental procedure that is needed for me to eat properly and be pain free.

Well everyone looks great and very nice and outgoing on the first visit. But....not there to make friends.

They are sales people first. Visits are confusing. I wasn't like the other clients. I didn't go ski the next day and I needed more than one pain pill. Usually that would be me. And I feel like a baby. I had over 25 teeth pulled with great bone. Very painful. 6 days later I got back in for the first follow up. Per they wouldn't see me untill then. Anyway when I did get in she said "people ski the next day".thanks for making me feel better. Poor bedside manor and for me poor after care. They gave me a broken waterpic that they did not show me how to use..no x-ray was taken I called to let them know how I was doing. Message after message.which I ended up not leaving I was too upset and I couldn't talk anyway. Pain. Well now 11 days later still swollen. red pink and yellow drainage. I'm sure its got to do with an infection. Should I go to the er cause they are not in the office till Monday . I think they got the money and I'm so nervous. $50,000 loan. So disapointed and the staff made me feel like a drug person. They need a lot of training in compassion and after care. They will see me in 4 months. They make you pay in full before your extract and delivery. Man what was I thinking. I hope in 6 months I have that 50000 dollar smile I paid in advance for. This procedure was done because my teeth were all shattered and sensitive not for cosmetic. But that was a bonus that I'm looking forward to.now I'm waiting for the pain to feel better. And swelling to go down.
