I did the work they wanted done, and I told them both the repair wouldn't match the original design. They agreed and said and I quote {Just match it the best you can} Mr [redacted] , The one with the flashlight, wanted the patch redone and we did that also. The repair cannot be done ANY BETTER. So I am not refunding their money. The $300 was to patch, texture, and paint the ceiling.$300 included all that and the 2 gallons of paint. This matter is closed to me.

When I bid the job For the [redacted]'es house they wanted an estimate for painting half their house and to repair a ceiling that was damaged by water. make it better. They both agreed and I bid fixing the ceiling AND PAINTING IT FOR $300. They accepted it and I did the work. We finished the job and everything looked great. The pop didn't match but I already told them that no one could match someone else"s design. Mr. [redacted] got out a FLASHLIGHT going around corners looking for defects. The next hour Mr. [redacted] called me and said his wife was not happy with the repair. So I told them I would send someone out tomorrow morning to redo it. I sent my best drywall man and he scraped the area clean and redid it and they weren't happy with that either. He called me complaining about it and I said we did the best we could or any one else could.

Let's start by saying the crew did a nice job, tho, missed 10-15 spots that Joe (the young man sent to redo the ceiling repair) actually walked around and spotted them in. First, the statement that my wife said she didn't care what it looked like is an absolute LIE. Anyone who knows my wife would laugh at that statement.Second, anyone who knows drywall and texturing can get "close" to someone else's work if they take time to see how it was applied. Not an exact match, but close.Third, the statement that he sent his best man to fix the terrible repair the next day is a joke. The young man told me he had NEVER done this type of repair. The knew some guys that did but he had never worked on drywalled ceilings. After studying the texture and trying a few techniques, we figured that the ceiling had been skim coated and then a circular texture applied. This was exactly opposite on what the owner did. He slapped up a thick layer of mud, then tried to stab a texture into it. The attached pictures should be enough explanation. I would like to note hear the this was all going on at the end of the day and he was rushing to get out. His guys were packing up quickly, obviously wanting to get paid and go home. He seemed to be getting aggravated about the ceiling job and me telling him we would be waiting for my wife to arrive since she was only about 10 minutes away. When I pointed out that the ceiling job he had done wasn't close to what was next to it was, he asked me if I could possibly finish it the next day since it was still damp. If that didn't work, he'd send a man out the next day. I told him that we'd contracted him to do the work and it wasn't my position to finish his job. He repeated that he needed payment for his guys. I reluctantly paid him in full due to trusting he'd do what he said and that he'd been referred to us by my brother-in-law. The next day, Joe showed up and attempted to undo what his boss had done and telling me that this was new to him. After talking with him of some time trying to repair the ceiling, I mentioned that his boss seemed to be in a rush the day before. Joe said the job wasn't done that well as far as matching the ceiling and that they'd rushed to get out. Joe got a phone call from his boss and was told to rush it along and get going. I figured that Joe was on the clock and the Dale, the owner, was trying again to rush him along and not pay out so much. Joe left shortly after and apologized. I was amazed at the response from Dale from Precisioned Paint at not backing up their work. I was also surprised at another lie regarding the $300 charge including paint. I personally paid for all of the paint. I have the receipts for the house AND the ceiling paint. Precisioned Paint bought no paint. The $300 was for the repair work only. They did paint the ceiling with the paint I supplied. You can verify this, if necessary, with [redacted] on old [redacted] in [redacted].I've attached pictures of the undamaged ceiling and the "repaired" portion. The pictures are literally 18" apart. To say this is as good as it can be done, simply says that Precisioned Painting should stick with painting and not claim to do something they have little experience with, much less charge a premium amount to repair 3-4 feet of drywall seam.  I don't think I'm being unreasonable to ask for a $300 refund given that I will still have to have it done or try it on my own. I know that I personally couldn't do any worse.Attached, pic 5 & 6 are regular ceiling pics. Pic 7 & 8 are the 'repair'.    Regards,
[redacted] & [redacted]
