Date February
26,
Dear Revdex.com,
To whom it may concern. This is complaint is
Absurd and Proposterous! *** *** contacted Clear Lake Movers, Incon
January to get an estimate for movingShe had spoke with Joan on that
day and was informed of rates and instruction on how we go about our business
practicesAlso Joan our staff, had also informed that we would need to come
out and assess the caliber of her move so we can give an accurate quote for
materials involved and labor for packing and movingThis is protocol in all of
our moves with Clear Lake Movers, IncMiss *** rejected and said she was
to busy for that she was writing a book and had no timeShe then informed that
she would send photos of each roomWhich she did to get an estimate based on
photos!! We gave her our hourly rates and also a General Estimate based on the
photos and once again requested that an in house bid be scheduled per our
policy and per David R*** the ownerShe informed she would get back with us
On January 20, Miss *** requested boxes to be delivered based on the
photos so she can pack up her apartment prior to us arriving On the 24th
of JanuaryMy staff had informed that would be a great time for me to assess
her moveI delivered the boxes as scheduled on Wednesday January at 10:30am
not 8:00amI met miss *** and spent about an hour with her after unloading
all her boxes and placing them where she wanted themMiss *** spent more
time telling me about her life and being a single Italian Lady who retired from
the Navy and how she was affiliated with a *** Congressman etcetcI had
to interrupt to get back on the business of movingI asked if she would show
me around so I can see what we were dealing with and she didIt was actually a
very pleasant meeting*** had told me *** *** *** moved her and her move
was $with them and it tookplus hoursThey packed and moved
everything and supplied materialsI exclaimed that I didn’t see that at all if
we were just to move herI gave a verbal estimate of 6-hours of moving being
that she lived in her apartment for plus years 2nd floor to 2nd
floor! She then asked if we could pack up her kitchen onlyI said sure and
gave her a quote on 2-hours of packingShe also said if she didn’t get as
far as she wanted to on packing can we pack what’s leftI said yes we are here
to help we will get it done we go by the hour! Well this is what transpired we
provided service as agreed in contract on 1/24/Arrived at 12:30pm as listed
on her receipt and our contractWe did not start hours late at 1:30pmI will
be more than happy to supply copies to Revdex.comWe packed and loaded on the and
offloaded the following day on the 25th per customer’s requestOur original
agreement was to do partial pack and move on the We were only to pack the
kitchen and customer was to pack remainder of apartmentThree days prior to
the move date customer requested boxes so she could start packing her
apartmentThis is a two bedroom apartment, second floor at *** *** ***in *** *** that she has lived in for yearsWhen our crew arrived
the crew chief called our office and said customer asked us to pack whole
apartment, she was unable to do so NOTHING WAS DONE! We honored customers
request and have official signed contract to perform servicespm on the 24th
arrives, we had packed and loaded our truckThe customer asked crew chief how
long the offload process would take and he informed the customer it would be
2-hoursThe customer stated she would rather offload the following morning
(25th) because she was getting tired which is understandable. We made
it aware to her that do to the heavy schedule the only availability we had was
11am to 12pm on the 25, customer agreed to this timeDavid tried contacting
customer several times the morning of the 25th to let customer know we were
running behind about an hourmessages were left on the only number provided
by customer to our company and customer never returned our callsDavid and
crew delivered customers belongings at 1:10pmCustomer answered door cussing
like a drunk sailor yelling at the top of her lungs and threatening David and
crews lifeI never in my whole life had anybody ever talk to me or my people
which such vulgar.I am a Christian man and crew also and her behavior pushed us
back10’ feet and shocked all of usI said ma’am what is wrong with youCustomer
threatened David’s life and couldn’t even gasp for airDavid identified himself
to customer as the owner of the company again and asked why she was disturbed
I the owner had to maintain my professionalism and not engage and just politely
say Maam if you don’t get a hold of yourself and stop your cussing and
threatening behavior we will need a cash
payment your credit and check is no longer acceptable with us and you must pay
for the cost of move before we offload anything from our trucks as contract
statesI asked for the life of me what gave her the right to talk to anybody
with that type of Vulgar and filthy mouth and that type of behavior(I forgot
she is retired navy sailor)I told her to get a hold of herself before I call
the police I started to call *** ***!! AT that time she started to calm
down. She complained about us arriving at 1:10pm and stated she tried calling
office earlier that morning which was Sunday and our office is closedDavid
who was present let customer know our
crew and himself tried reaching her to let her know we were going to be late
only to have customer inform David this was her house number and she unplugged
her phoneShe stated she had left a message Sunday morning with her cell
number, but again our office is not open on Sundays
She also stated
she left cell number with Joan at our office and Joan said the only number we
have is what is in our system that is what she gaveShe also stated she gave
Dino a business card and she didn’t at allWe have a voicemail from her
stating she forgot to give us her cell# that voice mail was left on Sunday
morning at our office which was closedAnyway After some time of her ranting, we completed
the job with no problems and gave customer a 10% discount for being a retired
military veteran not for any other reasonCustomer was pleased with the move
and there is proof, she signed bottom of contract were it states “Satisfactory
Move” paid her bill*** even tried to invite me to have Dinner with her at
*** and said she has her own table there with her name on itDavid said
as long as wife is invited sureWe laughed! Then days went by and she
exclaimed through e-mail some felt pad was missing off of bottom of foot of
bedSo I said okay I will look at it and she said no need she will order it
from the manufacturerIt was special she exclaimedWe said ok! Then days went
by and another e-mail was received actually of accusing us of stealing a
furniture pad she said belonged to herI asked why are you saying such thinks
and talking to us once again in a very unacceptable manorI told her at that
time if she didn’t stop her threatening behavior which was unacceptable and trying
to demand money from us $I was
going to the police for harassment and threatening my life on the day of her
move and I have witnesses that heard and was part on the receiving end of her
behaviorWe don’t have her furniture pad we own of our own.Never did I have a phone call or complaint about one thing during the process at all during this move! I have signed satisfactory of service by her hand at the finish line on the contracts. I believe Miss *** thought since we were running an hour late and we could not get in touch with one another on the 25thof JanShe feared the worst with all the bad moving companies that are out there! We are not one of them! If Miss *** really thinks we are thieves she is sadly sadly wrongItake and this company takes offense to thatAs we did her behavior.I have a serious problem with that accusation and our people who are credible and have been here for along time do alsoThank you
Sincerely
David &

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and accept the acceptance of negating the $charge. However, my acceptance includes the following comments to be included
Integrity is defined as adherence to
moral and ethical principles; honestyIf
a company is based in professionalism and excels in customer service, their
behaviors will support these qualities and above all they will exhibit integrity. Even with quality control, there is a margin
of error. If the mark is missed, it is
rectified. Money paid for the exchange
of goods or services must be in alignment with what was advertised or promoted
to be as a consumer makes a decision to purchase based upon the value of the goods
or services and the price of those goods or services. This is the foundation of the free market
system
As I explained in my filing, I
reported on my experience. My
experience was not in alignment with what was promoted to me or at the level of
services performed from previous professional movers. Once again, that was simply my experience. By stating my experience I have received an onslaught of malice and have been
catapulted into a ‘he said /she said’ by someone who was not physically present
to witness what actually took place. That
makes most of what was purported as hearsay and there is rationale as to why
hearsay is not acceptable in a court of law
Although there are numerous
inaccuracies reported in the response, I choose to only address two of the flagrant
falsifications. I choose to ignore the remaining
plethora of defamatory comments and misquotes.
I refuse to participate in maliciousness
On or around 12:I was approached by
the crew chief and he asked me if I would get lunch for them; anything would be
fine. I had to stop what I was doing, gather
drink orders and drive to Whataburger. I
returned with their food. There was no
offer to pay me and I did not ask. When
I was informed that everything would not fit in the POD, the crew chief told me
they could take the remaining items to storage.
He gave me the name of the person to call and also told me I did not
have to be there; I could take care of everything over the phone and they would
leave the key with management. I
completed this task exactly as I was instructed by the crew chief. I decided this was my most viable solution as
my closing was at 3:00p. In addition I still
had to finish cleaning the property, which I did not complete until 8:15p. Technically I was to have turned the keys
over at closing. After I left the house
I had a hour drive ahead of me. My day
had begun at 4:00a and did not end till close to midnight. My only goal was to complete the move as I
was legally bound to do so. Furthermore the
new owner would be arriving late the next morning
Moving is ranked in the top of the
most stressful situations a human being will experience and often rated as high
as the 3rd most stressful; and that is without issues with the move
itself. I received a contract on my
house with a week closing which necessitated securing temporary storage and
living in addition to the move itself. The
move was physically and emotionally demanding and my year old body was
pushed to the upper limits of both; completely understandable. This has escalated into hogwash; completely
incomprehensible

To the Revdex.com of Houston Texas and to the subject at hand! We provide service one way and one way only that is with utmost professionalism in our community! We are very reputable and are well respected in our community for our services! We have thousands of satisfied customers from this
day going back in time that can confirm that! So was this individual! Up until she had to pay for the services that were rendered! She was so satisfied that she used our service with applied rates in writing and didn't even call with any complaints at all during her move! I the owner was a phone call away! She could have called just as she called other times prior to actual move. Our office staff was also available during the whole duration of move if any concerns needed to be addressed ! I also was with my crew and available at offload at storage supervising finality of moveShe could have addressed any problem at that time. She did none of that!! AT ALL!! I asked my crew chief where customer was at? While my presence was available (completion of move)? He said customer told him she had things to do and for him to lock the storage when finished and give the key to Alan our personnel at storage office! I asked my crew chief how did everything go with customers move and he said great!! This customer told him the service was great she was very happy with them! He was shocked when reading this complaint that this individual said He and His crew demanded lunch from her. Which is no way in any shape or form the character of anybody at this company. He said she offered them lunch! But one thing for sure my crew chief said without doubt is that this individual was very concerned about finances and having enough to pay the bill for services rendered! Crew chief informed office staff mid way through move that there may be a financial problem when time to collect for services because her behavior was erratic and disruptive she gave many indications about finance issuesMy crew chief said he even told her that she didn't have to buy them lunch they have their own moneyCrew chief said she insistedThe only time Clear Lake Movers Incwas informed of any problems or dissatisfaction was upon receiving this complaint from the Revdex.com! This complaint was filed because it was brought to the complainants attention the next day that there was a error in the bill that she was not charged for a $(yard) of large bubble wrap that was used during her pack and moveIt was listed on the bill and used for her belongings but she was not charged for it in error by our crew chiefAlso she was informed that there was taxes at 8.25% She said she would get payment to usWe said thank you and confirmed address for check to be mailed to which is on her receipt! Bottom line we provided service and supplies and need to get paid for our services but we do also work with our customers and want them satisfied! We are negating the $charge do to error of our personnel upon settling the bill. Professional Quality Service is are standard always! Check out the internet all over the internet and *** list what this community has to say about our services! If you can't pay your bill let us know your predicament prior and we will try to work with you depending on the circumstancesThank you!

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10464159, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
David R[redacted] is positioning the truth to deflect responsibility. When I asked for an estimate, Joan told me they do not do estimates for apartments and she scheduled R[redacted]' appointment. At that time I gave her both my home and cell numbers. I asked if it would help if I sent pictures. She said yes, so I sent the emails.
R[redacted] called me, based on the emails, and said he would bring boxes and materials and give me a verbal estimate. It was then he saw all of my Navy memorabilia and pictures and with Congressmen and General [redacted] and asked questions.  He was the one who  told me he had dated my friend's daughter (he had seen my picture in the restaurant) and he was part Italian  even said he wanted to be friends because I knew so many people and would be a good referral source, volunteering to take me to dinner with his French wife at my friend's restaurant. As a retired Naval officer, I certainly would not be discussing my personal life with a mover.
As for my saying I was too busy and writing a book, that was mentioned in my January 27 9:32  email when I expressed my dissatisfaction and said I did not want to deal with the awful move anymore.

I packed everything except the kitchen and  master closet. My former assistant apartment manager saw all the boxes and she is willing  to sign a statement to the effect. As  I said before R[redacted] told me he wasn't bringing wardrobe boxes until the day of the move because he said they were too large and would clutter the apartment, which by the way, I only lived in for  4 years, not 13. Part of the problem is that on Saturday, there were only two men packing, while I was paying for 3, because Dino, the supervisor, stayed on the truck on his cell phone arranging his defensive driving classes for the next day and conversing most of the time. At the end of the day, I  gave Dino my business card and told him to be sure to put my cell # on the invoice. I also bought lunch (sandwiches from [redacted] grocery store)  and dinner (pizza from [redacted]) for the entire crew so they wouldn't have to leave. I have the receipts.
I did not curse and how would his workers who [redacted], even know what I  said? It makes no sense for me to threaten a 400-pound 6 foot tall man, flanked by three other hefty moving men. Really,  if he was in fear of his life from a 5 foot tall , 120 pound, 66 year old woman, he should have called the police. When he cursed me I started dialing the police and then he apologized and hugged me.

The missing mover's cloth is one of four  custom made cloths, made by the company that made my brass bed. I told the movers to wrap both the headboard and footboard in them There were two for the headboard and two for the footboard. They did not do this instead they used them to wrap my mirrors and now one is missing.
Since that time, I have spoken of my experience to others, who were not surprised. When I asked why they didn't file a complaint, they didn't know they could. I thought the State required movers to give an estimate and provide them with a booklet containing regulations. When I moved in 2011, [redacted], provided me with an estimate and the "Rights and Responsibilities" TxDMV.gov booklet. I did not use them for this move, because they were booked up. I showed  R[redacted] their contracts, their estimate and the booklet, which I kept, and he said, "they don't do that anymore." I made the mistake of trusting him because a friend recommended them. That friend, however, was married and I am sure R[redacted] would never talk to or take advantage of a man, nor treat him, the way he treated me.

For the record, unless I receive the $50 reimbursement for the cloth (the company that made my bed is fixing the broken footings for free because I am a good customer who gives referrals) I will NOT under any circumstances close this claim.

rovide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Regards,

Dear Revdex.com,It is a sad but not suprising to see somebody with such an appealing history which should lead you to  think honesty would be a badge of honor in their way of conduct. I am dumbfounded on how someone of such stature  can be so dishonest and administer such reprehensible behavior. Again the only number that our company was given from day one was [redacted]. Please note On invoice Dated Jan 24, 2015 You can see the only number is listed on contract. Day #2   Jan 25, 2015 It still was the only number we had. Note at top!  I had asked miss [redacted] for her cell phone number to have for the record after she was totally out of line to the point I had to tell her if she did not get a hold of herself I was going to call the [redacted] Police Department because during the whole time that she behaved the way she did she scared the living day lights out of us screaming at the top of her lungs threatening lives. I asked repeatedly what was wrong with her and told her to calm down and she did when I said I was going to call the police and nothing was getting unloaded until we found out what was wrong with her. Her complaint was we were late on delivery an hour and again I exclaimed I called and left numerous messages all morning for her that we were going to be late an hour. But never spoke directly to her because she would not answer. It is after she calmed down and she explained she unplugged her phone and she thought she gave Dino her cell# and she never did! Or else I would have called her on that during the process now doesn't that make sense. I think so. The number was given to me after I calmed her down and we were offloading and I asked for her Cell# at her counter when she was talking about dinner at [redacted] Italian Restaurant. That is when she gave it to me and I wrote it down above the only number we had [redacted] on Jan 25,2015.  I noticed the copy she sent to Revdex.com is missing the bottom half of the contract that she signed stating she was satisfied with our services and paid! I collected personally from her. Never in my whole time of being there did she say my workers damaged anything a bed, a foot to a bed, a foot pad to bed! ANYTHING AT ALL!  It is in  1st e-mail  January 27th 2015 Talking about her Brass Bed Damage that supposedly happened to a $4000.00 Bed while we were moving it .So I called [redacted] immediately to address the matter. I asked for information and she said she told the worker something at the time it happened.  I asked  why didn't she never mention a word about it to me while I am there? Wait a minute something is very wrong with this picture here. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE AT ALL!! I was confused when I received the e-mail and I said [redacted] I will be more than happy to come out and look at what it is you are claiming and we will assess the claim and take care of it if there is liability. She said no she would take care of it because she gets a special pad from the manufacturer! I asked are you sure? She responded yes she would take care of it. She said she didn't call for money and she said she didn't want money and said also she didn't want to file a claim. She just wanted me to know about it. I said thank you for bringing it to my attention. That's the last I heard from her at the time. Then OMG I get another absurd e-mail 1 month later about a blue pad? I felt this individuals e-mail dated  Tuesday Feb 25, 2015 was an exact emanation of her behavior when we arrived on the 25th of January to offload her possessions. Enough said I exclaimed to her discrediting our company my people and myself calling us a thief and threatening to do this or that if we don't give her money? WHAT? Clear Lake Movers decided to give awareness to our corporate attorney of this matter and he instructed to not pay one red cent and if she continues on, please bring to his attention if anything further and he will definitely handle the matter from there. This will be my last response to miss [redacted]s foolishness.  Asking for $50.00 is righteously given when righteously warranted. But under these circumstances it is not! Thank You!
