Santos and Oscar were great to work with. The shower handle had broken off. My dad is 99. They were patient and took the time to explain our options. Once we agreed on the path to take, they were efficient, clean and industrious. They took the time to show us what they did, how to operate the new equipment, and left the bathroom very clean. Santos and Oscar are an asset to Cleary Plumbing .

Matthew was informative to the work that needed to be done. Explained all details to me putting my mind at ease. He and his crew did a amazing job. I would recommend him and Cleary plumbing. No hidden cost or agenda very straight forward. The site was very neat considering they had to dig a 80 foot ditch. Very happy I hired him

3. Our Technician Fortez arrived, mask and booties and very professional (super nice and polite too)

I have never experienced a plumbing company from the 1st phone call to the completion of the job that was even close to the level ***'s Sevice.

Do not expect to get your job done cheaply.
This company is Reasonable for the quality and service they provide.
You do not have to worry about the workmanship or leaks or how the job looks when it's done.

Santos was very knowledgeable and responsive. He met expectation and provided quotes in a timely manner. Although I was extremely happy with the service they initially provided when quoting the work that needed to be done, the cost was higher that others I received quotes from for comparable products/service. Had cost been more in line, I certainly would have elected to use Cleary Plumbing.

My brother found Cleary Plumbing for my dad in Florida on Yelp, and thought they had some really excellent reviews. I was visiting my dad in the coming days, so I contacted them....They were really very informative, pleasant, and exuded such warm customer service. I set up an appointment, and today Santos came to do the plumbing job. Before even meeting him, he sent me his picture and information about himself. WOW I thought: "This just keeps getting better and better"!! He was absolutely incredible, with such a wonderful and professional disposition. He spent a few hours in my dad's home, quite knowledgeable, explaining all options, and was very neat and clean throughout the entire job. I highly recommend Cleary Plumbing to Floridians looking for outstanding customer service. They are very reasonably priced as well, and we were highly satisfied with every aspect of today's service!! Thanks again to all, especially Santos: AKA "Mr. Calm and Composed" who really lives up to his nickname!!!

I had a water heater, valves, and kitchen faucet replaced. Matt was professional and explained the whole process for each installation. The plumbing fixtures from the wall to the water heater look like a work of art! He is very skilled and thorough. I highly recommend Cleary Plumbing.

Cleary Plumbing was just here to do some overdue work on my bathtub, sink and toilet. Colin was fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. He couldn't do all of the work today as he didn't have the toilet with him that I needed (but didn't know I needed), so I'm setting another appointment. I've used Cleary Plumbing before and have never been disappointed.

On website and phone the company claims that one pays a diagnostic fee of $49 and then will obtain upfront pricing before doing any additional work.
I got in touch with Cleary Plumbing via its website on 12/15/17 after checking the Revdex.com site and looking at online reviews of the company. I notified them that the water heater was not working and that the circuit breaker was in the on position. On 12/16/17 I notified Cleary Plumbing via e-mail that the water heater was 4-5 years old.

I called Rheem. It is still under warranty they said that they could send a thermostat or element but not both. They wanted me to troubleshoot with a multimeter. They said that if a technician came by who had the defective part in stock that the technician could do the repair and Rheem would reimburse me for the cost of the part but not the labor. On 12/18/17 I spoke with someone at the firm who told me that she could not tell me how much it would be to replace the thermostat or element. She said that there would be a diagnostic fee of $49 and that once the problem had been identified the technician would input the part into the iPad and provide a quote which I could accept or reject at the time for the repair.

*** the technician, met me after work on 12/19/17. I explained to him that for the past year the circuit breaker controlling the water heater had been tripping. He used the multimeter to confirm his suspicion that the problem was with the breaker switch. Afterwards he told me that he was charging me $85 which he claimed was a discount from the $120 he was supposed to charge. When I raised that issue that the $49 was supposed to include the diagnosis fee he claimed that the $49 was just the charge for him being there. I paid the $85 via credit card.

The next day I contacted the firm to find out why I was charged $85. I thought it may have been the actions of a rogue employee. The person on the phone said she would look into it. I then called later that day and eventually spoke with the owner of the firm who claimed that the $49 fee covered minor diagnostics. I told him that I majored in electrical engineering in college and hence was aware that all that was necessary was the multimeter testing. He claimed that *** did an unspecified test and supported *** assertion that I had been granted a discount from $120 to $85.

Afterwards I looked at the firm's website which states:

"When we think of surprises we think of only good things, like a sale on strawberries at your local produce store. That is why we have up front/straight-forward Plumbing Pricing. You will never have to worry about hidden costs or sudden price increases. Our trained technicians will diagnose your plumbing issue and the discuss what it will cost before any work is performed. Our prices are in a book that we encourage you to look at. Our prices are not made up and we always stay competitive....You will have peace of mind the work will be done properly and not for a penny more than you agreed on."

I'm still bothered by this transaction since the additional charge violates the upfront pricing policy.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the amount charged above the diagnostic fee.

I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge. I told them that I only felt Cleary Plumbing was entitled to the $49 service call/diagnostic fee and not the additional $36 fee that was tacked on. The credit card company sided with me and credited me for the $36. Cleary plumbing still received its $49 service call/diagnostic fee.

This customer called us to his home because his water heater was not working. We explained to him about our service fee of 49% for a minor diagnostic fee. He agreed . When we went out there we looked at the heater and performed some standard test. It seemed that the heater was ok. We then did some electrical test with our multimeter. This was more money. We needed to charge 85 total. That included the original 49$. We determined it was the actual breaker that was bad. We informed the customer. We saved him from spending any money on the heater. We were honest and upfront with everything. He signed the invoice and paid with a credit card. We have his signature and he had the payment. He called the following day and wanted money back . He wanted 36$ back . He felt he was over charged to have a professional, licensed, and bonded company come out to his home and diagnose the problem correctly. For only 85$ mind you. I am the Vice president of the company. I spoke to him on the phone and explained why I could not refund that and why the price was fair and justified. That was the end of it. Then we get this saying he disputed the charge with Revdex.com. It is completely unfair for him doing this. I did not want to even entertain it so I did not respond at first especially when he went to the credit card people and got a stop payment on the 36$. I could have went to them with my signed invoice and phone recordings to get the 36$ back but it was not worth it. I decided that the end of it and it was final. But now he will not let it go still and is trying to damage our reputation is unacceptable. If this is not dropped I will go to small claims and go after the 36 that I am justly due. This customer is on our do not service from here on out because he is not fair nor reasonable. We did a great service and saved him a lot of money and run around by determining the problem right the first time. My overhead on sending a technician to a persons home is between 42-58 dollars and hour. You can see that the 49 did not even cover my time. Of course we charge fairly but we are also in the business to make money and support our growth. We would never have done the job we did for 49. I never have nor would because I would not be in business. Attached will be the invoiced signed by the customer agreeing to the amount and paying. There should be no other document needed. Thank you. He got his money back unfairly and I let it side but I will not stand by and let him damage our name.

I will be more than willing for Mr. to take me to small claims court over the $36 overage that his employee notified me of after the fact. This absolutely goes against his company's claim of upfront pricing. I obviously was not satisfied with the service since I called the next day about the surcharge. I was even bothered more once it became that the charge was not due to the actions of a rogue employee but was sanctioned by senior management. This is definitely a deceptive trade practice. The company does not have to worry about servicing me in the future since it should be clear from the nature of the complaint that I find the business to be untrustworthy.
