On 6/18/my family and another family visited Clements to take a canoe/tube trip down Sugar Creek Within the first minutes of being on the water the creek split into two smaller shoots - a tree had recently came down and the current pulled us straight into it Our group consisted of adults, year olds and year olds Our group collided with the tree limbs and all were tossed One of adults was in a canoe with a year old and they capsized and were thrown away from the tree One adult was pulled under and spit out about yards down Another adult had her legged slammed against the tree and the fourth adult (me) jumped off the back of the tubes to try and prepare for what was happening My year old was next to me and was flipped head first into the water I was able to catch him and throw him to the shallower water One child latched on the tree limbs and was able to be freed without going in That left my year old daughter who was nowhere to be found After close to minutes of searching I was able to locate her pinned underneath a tree completely submerged in the water with the exception of her fingertips I was able to free her from the water and get her to the shore She didn't appear to have life threatening injuries but was extremely shaken
Here is my issue Once we were able to get collected on the shore bank I hiked up the bank to find a houseWe called Clements and requested that they came to get us immediately so we could get our daughter to the hospital After roughly minutes elapsed we called again only to find out that the business had continued to shuttle groups to the river and needed to complete that before a vehicle would come open to come and pick us up When the shuttle did arrive, among his first questions to me was where the canoe and tubes were Needless to say I was shocked that this was his question and not how is everyone Once we had the van loaded, the employee continued to stand with the homeowners to coordinate a time to come back and get the equipment I had to ask him to get in the van so we could leave Once in the van I told him that I was going to need his name and he went silent Once we arrived back at Clements he got out of the van and walk off without providing me his name or even helping to get the passengers out of the back of the van I walked in to the office and asked to speak to Jason, the owner, I asked him for the name of his insurance company and he informed me that he was not going to provide me with that information I let him know that I was going to file a claim and needed the name of his company and he again denied me the name
Not once did he ask about my daughter, not once did any employee go over operations of the canoe or tubes, not once were we educated on the layout of the river Not once were we educated that the current might be a little faster than due to recent rains Not once were we educated on the recent tree that had came downThere was no sense of remorse from this company And the fact that this company continued to shuttle more groups when they knew we were in need left me completely shocked
Not dependable or professional. I called 4 times and left messages about needing repair services. All 4 calls were ignored and he did not bother to return my call for an estimate. The last time I called which was the 5th time, it took him about 2 weeks to return my call. He told me that he would get back with me in a week or so and he never did. It has been about 4 weeks and he still has not bothered himself about getting back with me. If you want dependable and professional services that begin with return calls and dependability about keeping promises, do not depend on this business. If this is the kind of business he runs at the beginning, what will happen once he is in your home?
