Clem's Ornamental Iron Works Inc. Reviews (6)

Mr [redacted] has been in contact with Mrs. [redacted] lawyer several times. They were trying to work out a solution to work for both parties. Last time they spoke was 03/06/15. Their lawyer, [redacted], was supposed to call back on 03/09/15 to settle this matter to Mrs. [redacted]...

satisfaction. As of this writing, Clem's has not heard back.

Review: Quoted 6 weeks in July of 2014 to fabricate railings for our home and it has been 18 weeks and we still do not have railings. They returned to the job 6 separate times, they destroyed out walls and still have not completed their work. CLEMS will not call us back and are delaying the sale of our home. Extremely poor customer service, we have missed work and now have more work on our hands as they have made extensive damage to our walls.Desired Settlement: Finish the job right, and repair the damage they have left behind to our walls.

All open items have been addressed and the customer stated, to Clem's sales representative, they were satisfied with the final outcome.Thank you.

Review: We had iron hand rails installed on front walkway steps about two years ago. The cement that was used is causing cracking of the stone work. We have tried for over a year to get some action on a repair, with no response other than promises to let us know when it will be taken care of. I have recently called 4 times in the past few weeks and left messages for the owner which have not been returned.

The stonework has continued to deteriorate, and is creating an unsafe condition.

I am especially concerned, as my mom, who is 95, uses these steps on a regular basis to get to her mailbox and the sidewalk.Desired Settlement: We would like the steps repaired by November 1st.

Review: I ordered Front Porch railings 8-7-2013-Advised [redacted] from Clems Greenbrook Office the order was for rental property. The railings are required before a CO from the town can be issued. I was assured that the job would be completed within 4 weeks. Clems contract states work is completed in 3 to 5 weeks. I amended the order 8-8-2013 to add the back porch. My credit card was charged $210 on 8-8-2013. The order was botched -address incorrect-back porch not added to order as directed. Multiple phone calls and emails. [redacted] assures me everything is correct. 5 weeks pass-no railings-I called and left a message for [redacted] on 9-12-2013 no call back. I call 9-12-and speak to [redacted] in the Piscataway office, who advises me to wait until 9-16 for a call back. I request a status, and or an installation or a refund. I request a call back with that status by end of business that day. [redacted] (Piscataway office) calls and advises that my railings, albeit only the front porch, will be installed by 9-20-2013 at the very latest, possibly earlier in the week. [redacted] calls 9-19 advising my installation is scheduled for 9-20 between 2-4 pm. 9-20 comes ad goes-no installation-no call. I call 9-23 request a refund-denied-request a call from the owner-ignored-I am advised the installation is now scheduled for 9-24 first job. 9-24 comes and goes-no call -no installation. 7 weeks and I have nothing-Nothing but incompetence-indifference-dishonesty.

Review: I signed a contract on [redacted], 2014 with Clem's Ironworks to install exterior railing at my resident. The contract states "After deposit and signed quote are received, please allow approximately 3-5 weeks for custom fabrication & installation", as of the May 21, the railing is still not installed. After I signed contract, I didn't hear from the contractor until I called them two month later, at that time they inform me that a fire damaged part of my order. Finally in early June, they scheduled a installation date for midweek, I told that I was not available for a midweek installation. The contractor told me I didn't have to be home for the installation, but I told the contractor that I wanted to be available during the installation. In early July, installation was scheduled for Saturday, July 12, weather permitting. On July 11, the contractor call and cancelled the installation, not for weather, but because the owner cancelled all weekend installation. Installation was rescheduled for July 21, I didn't get a call to confirm the installation on Friday, I called on Monday, and was told I was not on the schedule. When I ask to speak to a supervisor, I am the told that the supervisor for the scheduler is the company owner and we will get back to you. They will blame the delay on the fire, but I didn't get a call about my order being damaged. I was told that after I called them, which was more five weeks after contract was signed.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my deposit and cancellation of the contract.

Review: 6/5/2010- Purchased a railing for $610.00 from Clem's to be installed on my brand new front porch. [redacted] is the sales representative of Clem's that I have been dealing with the entire time. Summer 2010 - Railing was installed by Clem's. February 2011 - I notice the limestone is cracked, where the railing was installed by Clem's. February 2011 -I immediately went to Clem's showroom store with pictures of the damage. [redacted] assured me that Clem's was aware of the possible defect in their work, due to a faulty product used in the instillation. The product expanded and broke the porch steps. She said there were over 60 other cases that have already reported the same problem. She said the company would repair my stairs and "not to worry". On February 17, 2011, I was sent a letter by "[redacted] & [redacted] LLC" stating that Clem's would investigate my porch and make repairs, if they are at fault. Pictures were taken by their staff and I also have pictures from that time period. I followed up with [redacted] after not getting another letter from "[redacted] & [redacted] LLC", and [redacted] said that I was on their repair list and I would just have to wait for the legal case to end, before Clem's does any repair work. Feb. 2011- Present - I have made numerous calls to [redacted] about the status of my porch. [redacted] says repeatedly that Clem's is in litigation with the company of the faulty product. When the case is resolved, my stairs will be fixed. During my last call on June 28, 2013, [redacted] suggested I call [redacted] or [redacted] at the Clem's Ornamental Iron Works Headquarters in Piscataway, NJ. I have left messages with [redacted] in late June 2013 and with [redacted] Pittson, on July 17, 2013. I haven't received a call back from either person.Desired Settlement: My porch/stairs need to be restored to their "like new" quality. The railing needs to be removed, the damaged areas made new again and the railing put back.
