The Clermont County Water Resources Department completely understands the concerns of the Customer with Tegard to the billing issues and offers our apologiesWe ran through a difficult time trying to maintain the schedule of reading meters early this year
due to a combination of factors.As the customer is aware, we bill every two monthsAs we generally attempt to provide bills based on actual meter readings, we held off on generating the April bills pending actual meter readingsAs those continued to not materialize, the June reading schedule was approached and as such, we ended up having to do a last minute estimate of the April bills to go out with the late May actual read billsThis caused grief for all of our customers as they were provided two bills at one time to payIt is true that the system was unable to clearly show on the bill the estimate that was applied and it was reflected in the prior balance fieldHowever, the total amount shown was the correct billing for both the April and June cyclesWe have offered all customers a delayed payment if this was a financial hardship and we did not penalize any customer for late payments of their June billsThe situation is being rectified as we move away from manual meter reading to automatic meter readingThe contract was awarded this year to replace all resident’s meters with automatic reading registersThis will be a two year install process and at that time, meter reads and billing will no longer be delayedThe July reading provided by the meter readers was incorrect as can happen occasionally, When the customer called on August 11, we sent out for a re-read of the meter which confirmed the situation and the bill was revisedI have included a quick summary of the billings with read dates and usages for the customer’s recordsI again apologize for the billing schedules this year and the confusion it has causedWe will not hold billing for actual meter reads any longer than days going forwardSincerely,

As the new meters are installed over these two years, the numbers of times the bill periods will vary from the 60 day goal will diminish.  At the current time, 11,000 of the 45,000 meters have been installed with the new reading radios.
