This business response was received via email by Revdex.com staff member AH, it is a copy/paste. Dear *** *** Please allow this to serve as a formal response to complaint ID *** MrP*** purchased a vehicle from Cleveland Auto Wholesale on 8/12/On 2/3/MrP***
came in for an oil change and a headlight replacementUpon inspection of the vehicle it was determined that MrP***’s Jeep Compass showed signs of excessive wear and tearMrP*** was notified that we could not perform the necessary work on a Saturday and we expressed to MrP*** the urgent need to either leave the vehicle or bring it back immediately on MondayMrP*** did not show, nor did he call to schedule a later dateMrP*** purchased the vehicle with 117,miles on the odometerOn 2/3/when the vehicle was in service for an oil change it had 132,miles on the odometer. That is over 14,miles in monthsDriving nearly 2,500/miles per month, MrP*** was pacing almost 30,miles for the year, equivalent to nearly years of drivingThat type of excessive wear on the vehicle requires diligence and upkeep to avoid costly repairsWhen MrP*** had the vehicle towed into our facility it had 132,miles on the odometerThat illustrates again the neglect on MrP***’s behalfKnowing the vehicle was in need of immediate service, MrP*** still chose to drive the vehicle over an additional miles before it finally broke down mechanicallyAfter MrP*** towed the vehicle to our service facility we determined that the vehicle was in need of additional transmission diagnostic work and potentially a transmission overhaul or replacementAs our service department is not certified or equipped to perform such tasks we had the vehicle taken to AAMCO TransmissionsMrP*** was told on several occasions that we were not performing the work and he needed to communicate with AAMCO. At some point around March 1st, MrP*** came into the dealership to request an update with regards to the Jeep CompassHe was once again referred to the AAMCO and given their addressHe expressed his frustration to *** his sales associate and asked for the address because he intended to clean out the vehicle and remove his platesUpon receipt of this complaint we followed up with AAMCO and verified that in fact MrP*** did remove his plates and personal property. With respect to MrP***’s complaint regarding finance charges, we would refer him to his signed Retail Installment Contract which has a Truth In Lending section clearly showing any related finance charges and the total cost of the loan. In conclusion, we cannot meet any of the ‘Desired Settlement’ requests demanded by MrP***If at any point MrP*** chooses to repair his vehicle and agrees to continue paying for his commitments we will do our best to ensure he gets fair pricing on the work requiredWe do strive for customer satisfaction and the Cleveland Revdex.com is surely aware based on our past dealings that cases in which we are at fault or scenarios which allow for an amicable resolution we always do our best to meet the desired settlementHowever, we strongly feel that a case in which a consumer neglects their vehicle, drives nearly triple the average daily driving and then walks away from their vehicle as soon as they are required to repair the vehicle is not a consumer we can satisfy. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to this dealershipI did give the van back and receive my money back for my down payment. People need to know this dealership is selling cars knowing the check engine lights are onThey sell you a warranty to cover their negligence
Regards,
