air intake capable of increasing horsepower well over factory settingsAlong with oversize tires, to 6” lift kit, large heavy steel bumper/with electric winch in front*** brought his Ford to us for overheating. Was diagnosed to be head gasket or cylinder head problem. He gave us his warranty information (contract #, phone #, etc.)We contacted his warranty company to start a claim and learned their procedures and protocol. After MANY phone calls sitting on hold for lengthy amounts of time and leaving messages, finally got the ok for disassemble of engine, removing the cab, removing both cylinder heads. The heads were stripped for testing. Sent out for testing, they are checked for cracks (Wagamon BrosEngine Rebuilding), vacuum test and warpage. Head came back in good condition, we called warranty company again, with cost for repair, again lengthy on hold, etctrying to get most coverage for customer as possible. Once we got to talk to a “live” person, gave them an estimate in detail-the cost of repair- which was parts and labor with tax was $5,424.39. The warranty company agreed to pay $4,202.66. He has a deductible*** brought truck in September of for suspension, steering problem. Once again we had to call warranty, on hold, on hold, leaving messages once again. Finally reached them and gave them the cost of the suspension repair of $3,297.16, they paid $2,for this repair*** brought truck in November 28, and a repair order was started. He was having a hard start problem when engine was hot and also in the morning cold, also engine temp was spiking underload while pulling a trailer. We diagnosed the problem as injectors were bad and also a cylinder head or head gasket problem again. Back to calling warranty company a lengthy phone hold and phone tag. Warranty company wanted an “ok” from *** to disassemble engine for inspection. *** ok’d disassemble. Remove heads disassemble for testing. Once tested found both heads were cracked. *** did come to shop to see the heads cracked. Called warranty company , same on hold, phone tag. When contact was made they wanted to send a claim adjuster out to see the damage and take picture. *** called and wanted us to take his big tires off truck, so the adjuster would not suspect it was modified. His warranty contract states no modified or warranty is void. It took 4-days for claim adjuster to come to inspect. Keep in mind the truck was on a hoist costing my business $1,per day because it could not be used. All of ***’ downtime had to do with the warranty company dragging their feet. Per our records the vehicle was brought in for the original repair, once again when he thought it was the same problem and we did suspension repairs, once in the beginning of November , appointment was voided and then the final time November 28, when the heads were found to be cracked, as well as vehicle needing injectors. We worked with his warranty company and they denied the claim this timeOur warranty is months/12,miles, parts and labor of parts installedHe had put 13,miles on the vehicleWe repaired the vehicle and he picked it up on January 2, It has been explained to *** that with all the modifications he will have these issues.
